This was falsely rumored that William Shatner would appear as the original incarnation of Captain James T. Kirk. In the original timeline, Kirk (Shatner) died helping Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) stop Dr. Tolian Soran (Malcolm McDowell) in Star Trek: Generations (1994). Kirk's death took place 16 years before Spock Prime (Leonard Nimoy) and Nero's (Eric Bana) arrival in the alternate timeline in Star Trek (2009).
