  • Indicative of once-mighty Adult Cinema label Digital Playground's steep decline, "Vigilante City" is an unteresting, very low-budget action movie (presented on-line as four segments) set in Paradise City beset by warring vigilantes. It's basically all-sex gonzo porn with minimal "story" content thrown in.

Scott Nails is mayor, with beautiful Kenna James as his wife, but vigilantes known as the Vermin, are out to topple his regime, while Bad Vermin are loyalists supporting him and Kenna.

Action scenes are weak and cheaply staged, with a rush to deliver the audience-demanded half hour of sex per episode. Kenna and Ana Foxxx (latter cast as an innocent thrust into the mayhem) are hot enough to please their fans, but othewise it's strictly filler. DP delivered some production value and scale in its recent action movie "Wasteland Ultra" but clearly current budget tightening is evident in this clunker (compare with the lavish casts and productions of the label in its "Pirates" era a decade or so ago). Open ending sets up a dreaded sequel possibility (shudder!).
