NCIS: Hawai'i paid tribute to William "Kono" Dahlin in the closing credits title card. According to TVInsider.com, Dahlin, 49, who was credited as an additional crew member and actor, had been working on the show for 2 years, mostly as a background extra. KITV 4 Island News reported an arrest in the shooting death of Dahlin on July 19, 2023, in a fight at the 2012 Bar and Cafe" in Honolulu.

Season review

This is more of a review on season 3 rather than this episode. But as i couldn't find anywhere to review the season on the main page, i'll just have to do it in this episode page for the whole season.

To be honest, in general, i didn't really think too much of Hawaii. In fact, both Hawaii and New Orleans weren't really doing it for me, so in a way i am happy that both of these 2 spin offs have finished. But now we also have Sydney. And same with Sydney. I can't find the right word for it, but these 3 just don't have the same kind of impact that the original NCIS and LA has. On top of that, why was Sam Hanna brought to Hawaii? It seemed to me that the character (not the actor) just exuded a smug and arrogant demeanour which was completely unnecessary and brought nothing to the show. Sam Hanna's presence in season 3 of Hawaii was a big disappointment, they should have just left him be in LA.

It's a shame that they had to end this franchise after this season as there were still some unfinished business that left questions hanging. Much the same as they did for LA but it did seem that they tried to make more of an effort in wrapping up the LA franchise than they did for Hawaii.
