Ivan Locke, a dedicated family man and successful construction manager, receives a phone call on the eve of the biggest challenge of his career that sets in motion a series of events that threaten his carefully cultivated existence.
During Ivan's drive to London there were 36 phone calls. 13 outgoing, 21 incoming, 1 ignored call and 1 went to voice mail. At least half the calls ended with Ivan being hung up on or Ivan hanging up on the caller.
You know what? I could just drive around the M-25 into Dover or some-fucking-where and not face it, couldn't I? And just earn good money, cash in hand, working on the cross rail. They make five hundred a day just shoveling shit. Shoveling shit about...
The film follows the journey of Locke towards London from an unspecified location some 90 minutes north of London. However, the construction site at the beginning of the film, and hence at the start of the journey, is actually the Broadgate Circle development in the City of London, also known as 5 Broadgate. This is evidenced by the fact that Liverpool Street station is clearly visible in the background of the wide shot, along with several lesser-known but easily identifiable buildings such as 100 Liverpool Street. Locke's car is initially parked just north of the site, at the corner of Appold Street and Sun Street in London.
