A chronicled look at the criminal exploits of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, as well as the many other drug kingpins who plagued the country through the years.
This is technically Mauricio Mejía's 2nd time portraying paramilitary leader Carlos Castaño in a TV series. The 1st time he played the role was in the Colombian TV series El Cartel de los Sapos (2008), with his role as Adolfo Aguilar, a character based on the real life Carlos Castaño.
Many of the weapons carried by the Colombian forces throughout the series are seen with the 'Picatinny Rail' system in place of the carrying handles on their M-16s/M-4s. This series is set in the 1980s and the Picatinny Rail system was not adopted by US forces until the mid 90s.
