  • I felt the Movie was fragmented, the editing kind of "Short Film" Like a Cans Film festival amateur movie.

I was happy to see Carmen did a Bad Boy gangster Cameo. Praying for You brother.

The story should have been from an airline pilots point of view, one Christian one not then the Christian Pilot(the main pilot) disappearing. and a horrific crash, truck drivers disappearing out of their Semi's, crashing. Not just abandoned vehicles. Fighter planes dropping to earth.

The film starts in the middle then keeps posting post rapture repeatedly. That was a tad insulting to the intelligence.

and Cannibals (What the Heck was that scene, that guy never came to a conclusion their was a superior God. The heroine should have been able to confront her accuser. ( the horrible teacher ) somewhere showing Christians aren't MILK TOAST.

There will be terrible tribulation following a Rapture of Christians. devastation. But I don't feel the effects will be as portrayed. there are good people with morals who are not Christian, assuming everyone will be a rapist thief or murderer is not realistic.

I would love to discuss this further. Also I Met the Director he is awesome. Very real and personal. would love to continue our conversation. even movie ideas I have. Thanks. Drew.
  • It's pretty much a left behind rip off. It wasn't a horrible movie and they made some good points but I just didn't care for it the ending wasn't that good. I would have liked to see the professor have a change of mind and heart but that never happened. I guess some people just wont change no matter what happens. I wish they would have ended it differently. What are the main characters going to do now?
  • Pros:

    • Epic scope: This is without a doubt the biggest faith-based end times movie ever made. The exact budget of the film is unknown, but due to its locations, I would guess at $15 million. And the film-makers really make sure you're aware of how expensive the movie would've been to make, with a number of staggering exotic locations featuring tanks and helicopters. Even a riot scene at staples center (although I'm not sure if that was cgi).....

    • Actors: All very good in this movie, and is definitely one of the best things about the film. The four characters make for compelling and likable heroes who have to rely more on their intelligence than physical power. .......

    • Action scenes: As mentioned before, there's a ton of end times action in this movie. And yes, a lot of them are CGI, which I personally don't have a problem with because there were so many it's unlikely they could've done a lot of these scenes without it. The planes sequence is great and the taking over of the subway car is good - made you feel the rapture was coming, man.........

    Cons:

    • Lack of gore: Now don't get me wrong, I'm a Christian, and I don't need blood and guts in every single movie I watch. But with end times films, gory violence is a necessity. You need to see people getting ripped apart to emphasise how they are literally the "end" is and you need to see humans die graphic deaths to reinforce how much of a threat the last days can be. But this film wants to appeal to pretty much anyone aged 10 and up and that it's "Christian" so of course we get very little blood, plus no on-screen guts, severed limbs, or exploding heads.

    • Shaky cam: This kind of ties in with the lack of gore; it's like the cameraman is shying away from the more graphic moments (it's The Hunger Games all over again). The shaky cam's only really noticeable in the film's first half hour though, while the rapture is just beginning, so it's not a huge problem. Still a little bothersome though.....

    • Unfulfilling ending: This movie does end in an abrupt fashion, and kind of left me wanting more. It ends very suddenly, and I kind of thought to myself- "really? That's it?" That being said, the jarringly sudden ending could be seen as a good thing - amazing scene in the end put a lump in my throat

    • Slight lack of tension: The movie lacks some much needed suspense because it's basically a character study on these guys saving themselves.I don't know, a few more well-developed side characters would've gone quite a long way in making me more invested in the film's events.

So there's my thoughts on this film. It's a mixed bag, but ultimately I'd recommend it. I give it a solid 8, no doubt. It's worth seeing at the cinema just for those spectacular exotic locations. It's flawed as though, so go in with moderate expectations. It could be a whole lot better, but ultimately the film's still pretty decent, and a good one to experience on the big screen. It's certainly better than 90% of the summer blockbusters and it made me really question my faith like no film before....in a sense that deserves a higher score....
  • Very poor directing, acting, sound quality and overall presentation.

All in all. This was a piece of crap you find in the dollar bin.

    Within the first few minutes...

I was horrified as the acting.

It was as if they casted the worse of the worse to act in this film.

Everything is jut over exposed and the acting...did i mention...

    It was terrible...

    Seriously.

I wished i had plucke my eyes out.

I have nothing more to say...

Worse review for worse film... Ever...
  • When i watched this film i thought now whats this going to be like? After watching it i thought it was a brilliant film, fantastically acted!

Every time i watch it the film brings a tear to my eye. Fantastic film and worth watching,it's really realistic film and seems like another one of stephen king's great stories, yet it's a story of hope in God and Jesus and many people who have watched will say the same thing - if you haven't seen this film already then watch it, it is brilliant, just brilliant!!

be prepared to be moved, it's such a breathtaking journey for the whole two hours. A truly lovely magical film, my favourite of all time fantastic

The RAPTURE is going to happen. Be ready!

This film wins my vote for the worst acting, worst special effects and the worst cameramen ever. I have seen a lot of low budget films in my day but this is the winner hands down.

To top it off they obviously get some of the people who were part of the film to post reviews here giving it 10 stars. I could see if there were one or two people giving this a 5 or 6 star review but 15'ish giving it the full 10??? I call BS.

The premise of the movie is a good idea and had it given more thought to the acting and a better budget for special effects it may have been one of the better movies of the year.

The characters' conversions to Christianity had the proper emotional impact, and while some might tire of basically hearing "God is the answer," to nearly every question the characters have post-rapture, you have to keep in mind that Christians really do believe that God can help you out of any problem.

I thought for the little resources they had, this was the best movie I have seen. This is not a HUGE hollywood production, there was not 180 Million dollars spend on this movie, and the selection of actors was not that big. So with all they had, I thought this was incredible, and hopefully there will be more out there. I will definately support this project. I gained a lot of respect for the director and loved his previous film, 'Slamma Jamma'

10 out of 10 all the way.
  • My wife and I are big fans of Christian films. It is so hard to find entertainment that is not over-ripe with offensive and vulgar material. We support almost every film that comes out in the "Christian" category in hopes to further the industry. So, we bought the DVD. That being said...

I want my $25 back. I saw an interview with the director who touted the fact that they filmed in multiple countries/locations and spend so much money making this film. That money was wasted. I cannot understand how so many are praising this film other than the desire to further this genre or present our Lord's message... this film does neither!

1st of all... it should be categorized as a foreign film because more than half of it isn't in English. What WAS is English was empty... you could remove the entire English speaking part an not loose any of what little substantive message there was.

2nd... we accept that when it comes to our Christian films, the plot and dialog is often somewhat less in refinement than the mainstream multimillion dollar productions. This is understandable - less money to play with, fewer seasoned and skilled contributors. It would have served this film immeasurably well to have spent just a little money the script, plot, dialog... something! The story meanders, is incongruent, doesn't make sense at times, is sophomoric in it's structure... I don't know where to stop. This film is DEFINITELY not something I would recommend to someone if I want them to WANT to watch more Christian films!

Lastly... as with the previous subject, acting is often lacking in Christian films as well. No exception here although there were some notable exceptions. The Spanish speaking crew, I think, did a pretty good job as did... well, the Spanish speaking crew did well.

In conclusion... beautiful scenery, decent cinematography, and lots of hype do not make up for lack of substance, poor dialog, anemic spiritual message, and a dizzying amount of disjointed storyline crammed together. If EVER there is a film to NOT support for the benefit of the genre... this is it.

    In my opinion. :)
  • ..........If you have a hard time hearing a lot about the RAPTURE and such, pass on this at the local multiplex and wander into another film. I hope it makes you happy. But, I would gently suggest you try this movie out. Be you a man (or woman) of Faith or not. You just might be surprised. And, you just might wish to spend a little more time with the Savior of the world. I often do not see movies like this, since I am a somewhat typical man who prefers big blockbuster SF or other action oriented films. However, I went to see this movie a while back at my local multiplex on a date with my wife and found myself really enjoying the movie. The people attending were a mix of adults and teenagers, with about an equal mix of men and women. I met a couple of people I knew there and they seemed to have enjoyed the film.

I give FINAL THE RAPTURE a perfect 10.

    Awful
I ordered this DVD and waited with great anticipation. I was hoping for a well done portrayal of the events following the Rapture but was greatly disappointed. Everything about this movie was bad. It lacked sincerity and realism. Eg: The Japanese reporter is walking on the street with his friend and they are supposed to be extremely concerned about the news suppressing the rapture story. The whole world is supposed to be in turmoil. While they are walking and talking, the people on the street behind them are going about the day normally, laughing and talking and shopping. During the classroom scene with the Atheist professor, the Christian students are extremely inept at defending their faith. If I were not a Christian, I would laugh at them too. There is so much more that I could say about this movie. I was very disappointed with the movie and I really wanted to be able to show this DVD around to friends but it is little more than an embarrassment and an example of poor writing and execution. Can't we make better movies than this? This is too important to slough off. Our faith is not based on simply faith. There is so much more to showing the reality of GOD and these people missed it completely. So Sad. I wish I could say better, but I can't. Sorry.
  • 'Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.'- Titus 2:13 And my heart reminded me of the hymn - 'Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood. Refrain: This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long; this is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long. vs.2 Perfect submission, perfect delight! Visions of rapture now burst on my sight; Angels descending bring from above Echoes of mercy, whispers of love. (Refrain) vs.3 Perfect submission, all is at rest! I in my Savior am happy and blest, Watching and waiting, looking above, Filled with His goodness, lost in His love. (Refrain) God bless the film team!!!
  • ... depicted through well made film. Based on the Christian belief that millions of Christians from around the world will suddenly and bodily disappear when Jesus "kidnaps" them.

Seen through the eyes of four main characters from different places around the world: L.A, Tokyo, Buenies Airies and a plane crash survivor on a deserted island. What sets this Dramatic/Thriller/Tear-Jerker above other End-of-the-World films is the superior acting. A bit slow to get started but by the end you are "caught up" in the characters' plights as they search for the truth to the disappearances amidst all the theories and trying to survive the chaotic aftermath.

Filmed on location around the world and an international cast gives it even more authenticity. You might not believe in Jesus by the end but you'll KNOW you've seen a good movie.

But, as is usually the case, the Book version of this story is better. (From the Bible).

I wish that Christian themed movies were higher budget. Most are low budget, corny, predictable and poorly made. This one is the same. Some parts were cringe inducing. There were many inconsistencies in the story. For instance, the plane crashed into a mountain side yet the character washed up on the shore of an island. How did he get cell phone reception on an uncivilized island in the South Pacific? The Japanese man supposedly has 7 days to live but is running around trying to find a Christian to talk to. It could have been interesting to keep flashing back to peoples decisions prior to the Rapture. However, the quality of the film became a barrier to the message it was trying to send.
  • This film is a beautifully crafted and harrowing tale of the end times, namely the Rapture. It is, to me, the most important film I've seen for all people to see (I am a Believer myself). The emotions portrayed in this film are those that all 'religious' people should absorb, and then reflect on the fact that oppression is still a strong, ugly force in our lives. Not everyone who cries 'Jesus' will make it to heaven. I have seen Colin's expressions in the faces of the young, agnostic men I have known. We do not live in a "tolerant" society. I strongly encourage people to watch this film and reflect on your God-given knowledge. Do you know him? I cannot imagine what it would be like to see this as a secular person, and my only dissatisfaction with this film is that our society requires the pain and distress of people of faith and the haters of faith. One day God will return. This film capsulizes that perfectly. Great movie.

    Warning: Spoilers
I'm not Cristian although I was raised with Cristian believes. I've really enjoyed many good Cristian films, really peaces of good art. This film is really bad, If I were Cristian I would really be angry with the film maker, it is an insult to intelligence itself. Besides the script, the performing is terrible.

I really can't believe it has a 6 now, I am scoring it the lowest possible in the hope to contribute to provide the real score to this idiotic creation. (By the way the scene at the island with the natives is just really really shameful! Can't really comment more on it). I do not recommend on watching it although you want to laugh with a bad movie.

    Awesome
This movie was a great pleasure for me and my church to see all these stupid and arrogant disbeliever get the punishment they deserve. They knew all along that they will rot in hell for all eternity and that's what they get. Man, I'm lucky to have chosen the one and only right faith in a loving god among hundreds of others, which are very similar but of course created by Satan himself. He's smart, don't fall for it.

It was also very convenient because I didn't need to think about if someone is guilty or not. I just had to compare which persons were missing after the rapture. God took this burden from me and he did a great job in my opinion. There could have been a bit more destruction and violence though. But well... that way it's also suitable for children.

Also the actors earned my honest appreciation. Much better than what I'm used to and I really have seen each and every of the "Fallen World Productions". I always had the feeling that the actors and technicians were ordinary people like me so I could easily connect.

Don't wait to see it until it's too late and spread the word of love and redemption.
  • This movie is a great watch for recovering catholics. I remember every novena, every fiery sermon on the end times...and I get to mock them in this horrible movie. I enjoy films that play on the catholic mythos, particularly dealing with the "end times". But this one is the best. The acting is terrible, just terrible, but have faith. Every cliché is beat to death, and they attempt to diffuse rational arguments with biblical platitudes. No quarter is given to rational thought while trying to push this weird ass end of times doctrine. I hope the rapture looks exactly like this. A bunch of pseudo-catholics enduring existential crises while I drink beer and keep the crazies off my porch with a rem 12gauge. "everyone's gone, the school is closed" but this tool is on an island talking to 911 on a cell phone. This film is a great lol. To anyone who believes this malarkey, lets talk in 30 years, yeah:)
  • It's a bittersweet story, a sort of horrific fairy-tale of what might have happened, but the viewer will be caught up in the story because of the tremendously skillful story- telling magic!

The movie keeps the viewer thrilled and excited, because in every minute, something could happen.

A brilliant movie. Not too short, not too long. It's worth every minute watching! My highest recommendation for those who like drama, action and humor.

The performances are awesome and the depiction of characters is executed in an extraordinary way. There are no clichés which is a great merit of the film and where many films of the genre fall into that trap
  • This movie really amaze me for real...at how bad it really was. I rarely give a score under 4 but this movie has just crossed it. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Christian and I have faith in the rapture and Christ's second coming. But if you think Nicolas Cage's last Left Behind was poor, this movie is really a reject and doesn't deserve to tell the possible story of Rapture. The script maybe flat at best, but really the overall directing is very bad. Thus the rest of the technical details follow suit. The camera angles worked just like a home video amateur, burring off focus most of the time, even though the difference is very slight. The sound quality is really crap, too loud on one end and barely covering the background at the other. The acting really adds to this movie bad presentation. Luckily I watched this digitally and didn't bother putting any money into it.

The film itself was a low budget film. Yet I found that the psychological levels of the film were higher than originally expected. I honestly am quite frightened by the Rapture. I found that it got many people thinking through out the film. Placing the viewer in the same situation of not knowing of what is actually going on when the end times come, unlike so many other movies. Also the main line that the star does use in the film, "Those who do not appreciate God's blessings and lives they are given, are not worthy of that they are given", It really opens people's ears and make you think. Is the Rapture onto something for our day and age, giving this dark, yet truthful saying of the Bible? I think so in certain aspects. Minus the brutal mind games and killings when Jesus returns. A very creative outlook on the re-sculpting of the Rapture. moving from the 80's into the 21st century. One of my top movies "3rd of 10"

This is my first ever review of a film on IMDb. I read through the 37 reviews and found it more enjoyable than the film. To see so many people declare what a wonderful film it was made me cry with laughter, then there were those that shouted people who illegally downloaded the film would be seriously punished by god or someone!

This is by far one of the worst films of the decade. I have no idea who those people were but they were definitely not actors, acting (2/10). Cinematography (3/10). Storyline (3/10).

All in all a total waste of time and money. certainly a Christian propaganda film to try to increase their ever dwindling ranks. Sorry people throwing this sort of rubbish out will just push people away even further!
  • Wonderful film. All of the negative reviews are coming from the little illegal downloaders who would rather steal than earn a living.

Guarantee these illegal downloaders work at a 9 to 5 job. They do not own a business. They do not own a home. And they never will.

God will avenge for sure. Read 1 Thess 4:6: "God will punish all men who take advantage of Believers in Christ."

It was so refreshing to see a movie produced to genuinely address how to negotiate real, tough life challenges. The movie presented another option, rather than the 'traditional' destructive way movie producers usually glorify giving up on those who we have made a life commitment to.

While this movie will totally blow the mind of someone who is unfamiliar with a Christian's perspective of the coming RAPTURE, it is first & foremost a reminder for Christians who have lost their way & negotiated major life decisions before that Great Day of the Lord.

The cast were superb. Special mention for Jah Shams. It's very hard to believe this is his first movie! The quality was top standard & they avoided the cheesiness typical of this genre of movie making. Well done all & thank you for your inspiration.

Once again, the claws will be out to trivialize the Christian perspective. If the same cast were praying to a crystal or the likes, certain significant critics would be raving about it with openness to tolerance. Say no more. The Cast & Crew of this movie are bigger than that anyway.

Keep these great movies coming. People vote with their pockets.
  • So people voted this movie a 10 thinking that it would keep them on good terms with God? Let us begin with the writing, well that was actually the only positive surrounding this steaming mess. I wanted to place all blame on the director, but then realized that everyone involved with this movie is equally at fault. After viewing the dailies wouldn't someone on the set say something? Anything? There must have been a grip or a makeup artist or somebody else with movie experience that could have said something. Perhaps offered help. Seems like this is merely a cash grab with a built-in paying audience willing to overlook movie making standards. "Sheep," indeed.

Gave this a 1 in effort to stabilize the ship.
  • Let's start by saying that this movie is an utter waste of time. Why? It's incoherent and incomprehensible. The concept was dumb to begin with but the horrible direction doesn't help it either. And the acting was oh so bad, it made some of the worse movie I've seen look good.

The transition between the stories is very amateur and done horribly. Not to mention they are set in different countries with different languages, making them painfully confusing.

I've seen Indie movies by amateur directors done better than this. Cannot believe there are people here calling this the best movie they've ever seen. I guess this is the only movie you've ever seen, if that's the case.

Not recommended to anyone. You're better off using your time on other things. This is a complete waste of time.
  • Warning: Spoilers
What I liked about this film is that every frame and every scene was important to the story. There are no puppy in the window filler shots. I applaud the writing and the directing for such an intricate weaving. Not a film for those with no patience for God or intolerant of Christian films. I enjoyed watching this film as I started to recognize things and tried to figure out what was going on, only to be wrong several times. I see something new every time I watch it. Brilliant concept and execution of the concept on film. It's master story-telling at it's best

FINAL: THE RAPTURE is the type of movie that was very popular at the turn of the century - One that has a great twist in the tail . I have to say I didn't expect this. I didn't have great expectations when I saw this. Especially considering the cold reception given to it by secular critics who refused to review the film because of it's hard-core Christian stance. But it is one of the most original Hollywood thrillers ever and one that speaks of God at every turn

!!!! SPOILERS !!!! The premise involves "4 characters who get caught in the Rapture " in 4 countries. I sat in the theater (in Orlando) mesmerized...I saw several people weeping at the end of the movie - some of my friends I came with were silent in the car going back home - one guy said he was a changed man, whatever that means...
