The concept of this show was first formed when Jake Johnson explained the death of Otis Redding to his friend (the show's Creator) while intoxicated.

Although the show is sometimes far-fetched, and the dialogue not being verbatim, every story is one hundred percent true and accurate.

This show got its start on the show Funny or Die Presents... (2010).

Several episodes include additional vignettes where Creator Derek Waters will, in a state of intoxication, explore a profession or point of interest relevant to the stories being told throughout the episode. Among the skills he explores are oyster shucking, gun twirling, LARPing, and creating sound effects on a Foley stage.

In more recent years, they use up and coming hopeful actresses and actors to drunkenly tell the stories. Not just regular people.
