Another year of Grammy nominations, another year of K-pop fans having to cope with the fact that none of their favorite performers made it in.

Solo artists Jung Kook, Rm, and Jimin were all eligible to be nominated at the 2025 Grammys, but they were ignored when the noms were announced on Friday, Nov. 8 by the Recording Academy — see the full list. So why isn’t K-pop music taken more seriously at the Grammys?

Jimin and Jung Kook both broke streaming records with their singles “Like Crazy” and “Seven,” respectively, and Rm was added to many respectable “best of” lists at music publications for his album “Right Place, Wrong Person.” South Korean artists are clearly here to stay, so perhaps it’s just a matter of opening up the eyes (and the ears) of the Recording Academy members by introducing them to new styles of music they may not have grown up with.

BTS star Jimin will perform ‘Who,’ the main track from his second solo album, on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

According to his label, Big Hit Music, Jimin’s performance was pre-recorded and is scheduled to air at 11:35 p.m. on Monday night’s show.

Jimin is currently participating in his mandatory military service in South Korea, having enlisted in December 2023. His appearance on the Jimmy Fallon show was filmed before his enlistment.

His second solo album is titled ‘Muse,’ and will be released at 1 p.m. Korean local time on July 19. The tracklist includes ‘Rebirth’ as the introductory song, followed by ‘Interlude: Showtime,’ ‘Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco),’ ‘Slow Dance (feat. Sofia Carson),’ ‘Be Mine,’ ‘Who,’ and ‘Closer Than This.’

BTS member Jimin has released a new solo single, “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco),” along with a whimsical music video. Seoul, July 25 (Ians) K-pop superband BTS member Jungkook’s new single ‘Seven’ featuring Latto (formerly known as Mulatto) has debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.

It marks the 25-year-old’s first time to rule the chart as a soloist.

He is the second BTS member with a Hot 100 leader following his groupmate Jimin, who reigned the chart after his song ‘Like Crazy’ launched at No.1 back in April, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Jungkook’s previous high on the Billboard Hot 100 was when Charlie Puth’s ‘Left and Right’ featuring him hit No. 22 in July 2022. His own song ‘Stay Alive’ also spent a week on the list No. 95 in February last year.

The ‘Euphoria’ singer has posted six other Hot 100 leaders as part of BTS.

On Tuesday, Billboard published a piece speculating on why hip-hop hasn’t had a Number One album or single within the first half of 2023. The report set off a flurry of chatter from industry observers and rap fans drawing their own conclusions as to what the answer might be. Is the dearth of rap hits this year a matter of market share, artist deaths, incarceration, or stagnant charts?

Most people who think the occurrence is no big deal are chalking it up to a lack of releases by major rap stars.

Jimin's secret song off his debut solo album, "Face," isn't so secret anymore. In celebration of BTS's 10th anniversary Festa, Jimin filmed a live performance of his track "Letter," which only appeared on the physical edition of his hit album. While you can still only listen to the fully-produced version of the song on Jimin's physical album (so you're out of luck if you decided to pass on purchasing it), the acoustic, live performance released on June 7 is beyond beautiful, and a gift to ARMYs.

Back in March, when "Letter" was initially released, fans were surprised when they recognized Jimin's BTS bandmate Jungkook's unmistakable vocals on the track, adding trills and adlibs throughout the final minute of the song. Although Jungkook did not participate in the live performance of "Letter" for Festa, his backing vocals can be heard (albeit more softly) in the background at the end of the video.

Los Angeles, April 4 (Ians) K-pop superband BTS member Jimin has become the first South Korean soloist to lead the singles chart with ‘Like Crazy’ off his debut solo album ‘Face’, which starts at No. 2 on Billboard’s albums chart.

The six-song EP, which incorporates songs in English and Korean, scored the second-biggest opening week for an album this year with the equivalent of 164,000 sales in the US, according to data by Luminate, reports ‘Variety’.

It follows Morgan Wallen’s ‘One Thing at a Time’, which broke through with half a million units in mid-March and remains at the top of the Billboard 200 for a fourth week on the chart dated April 8.

There's no end to how much musical history BTS has made as a group. They're the first and only Korean artists to notch six No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, and they're the only Korean artists to have been nominated for five Grammys, to name just a few of their major accomplishments. Now, as the group takes a temporary hiatus to serve in the Korean military and focus on their solo projects, it seems they'll start hitting even more milestones as soloists. Case in point: Jimin released his first solo album, "Face," along with the album's lead single, "Like Crazy," on March 24, and a little over week later, he's now a Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping soloist.

On April 3, Billboard reported that "Like Crazy" debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, making Jimin the first and only Korean soloist to score a No. 1 hit on the chart.

Jimin of the hugely popular group BTS dropped his debut solo album, Face, on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 12am Et to eagerly awaiting fans. Along with the release of Face, the main track – “Like Crazy” – was accompanied by a new music video.

The album is available now on all streaming platforms. The physical album is available in retail stores, including a Target Exclusive album.

Jimin described this album during his promotional tour as illustrating the honest feelings he experienced during the pandemic. After a year-long wait, BTS's Jimin has finally debuted as a solo artist with his prerelease single, "Set Me Free Pt. 2," off his upcoming album, "Face," which comes out March 24.

Jimin teased a first look at his prerelease single and music video on March 14 and 15 in two 30-second clips. They showed him staring down the camera in a black leather jacket as his backup dancers, all dressed in black, danced in formation behind and around him. While Jimin doesn't dance a single move in either clip, the fact that his backup dancers are going hard to the haunting music filled fans with anticipation over the epic choreography that was sure to come. According to Big Hit Music, “Face delves into Jimin’s story of fronting his true self and making a new leap forward as an artist. Through Face, Jimin will present his own musicality with distinct timbre and impeccable dance performance.
