CBS has found the second star for its upcoming drama Boston Blue.

Sonequa Martin-Green will play a lead role in the Blue Bloods spinoff opposite Donnie Wahlberg, who is reprising his role as Danny Reagan from the long-running series that ended in December 2024. Martin-Green (Star Trek: Discovery) will play Lena Silver, a Boston police detective who becomes Danny’s partner as he moves to a new city. Like Danny, Lena is the eldest child in a prominent law enforcement family.

CBS placed a straight-to-series order for Boston Blue in February, calling it a “universe extension” of Blue Bloods. While it’s set in the same world as Blue Bloods, it has a new creative team: Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis (The Blacklist, Alert: Missing Persons Unit) will serve as showrunners and executive produce with Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed of Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Wahlberg. (Bruckheimer’s company wasn’t involved in the original series.

Belcher’s upcoming feature debut follows a woman looking for an end to her suffering. She checks into the House of Abraham, home to a mysterious cult that promises a way out. She soon discovers all is not what it seems and must plan an escape before it’s too late.

Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett are making eyes at each other in the teaser for Verity. Their characters, Verity (Hathaway) and Jeremy (Harnett), meet one night at a club and immediately fall in love. Verity, an author, falls under a mysterious sickness and becomes bedridden. We see Jeremy invite another writer, Lowen (Johnson), to come finish the book series.

WandaVision concluded with the original Vision, rebuilt by S.W.O.R.D. to do as they command, attempting to kill Wanda Maximoff and his Hex double. The latter seemingly restored his doppelganger's memories during their clash, prompting the presumably emotionless "White Vision" to fly away to parts unknown.

Marvel Studios and Marvel Television will continue that story in Disney+'s upcoming Vision series, and there's a great deal of intrigue surrounding the project.

The first reason was that James Spader was at the helm as career criminal Raymond “Red” Reddington, known as the Concierge of Crime. The story was also very intriguing. After running from authorities for decades and being at the top of the Most Wanted list, Reddington decides to willingly turn himself in. He offers his services to help the FBI take down the most awful criminals, and he delivers. But there’s an ulterior motive. They have to let him do his thing, and in taking down these thieves, criminals, and terrorists, they are inadvertently helping build Reddington’s own criminal enterprise in the process.

Jason Ritter, who wrapped production on CBS’ already-renewed Matlock back in October, has lined up a “super” side hustle, on HBO’s upcoming Green Lantern series.

TVLine can confirm that Ritter has been cast in Lanterns as Billy Macon, “a good-looking charmer who does his father’s bidding,” the official character description tells us. “Capitalizing on his family’s reputation, he clings to his small-town ego and has everything to lose.”

HBO's Green Lanternseries has added another face, this time from a new television drama that has been making waves in the ratings scene. Peter Craig — that's one of those people you may not recognize by name, but you'd absolutely recognize by their work. Especially for fans of some of the biggest movies to hit Hollywood in recent years. Craig either wrote the script or helped develop the story for Gladiator II, The Town, Top Gun: Maverick, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, and Bad Boys for Life. And then there's The Batman, which he co-wrote with Matt Reeves. Fans of the caped crusader are stoked for The Batman II, to put it mildly, and so is Craig. However, despite what some internet sources might say, Craig moved on from the DC franchise in order to create his own series, Dope Thief, which hits Apple TV+ this week.

With a title like “Fucktoys,” Annapurna Sriram’s directorial debut boldly announces its wild intentions. A provocative name like that has been known to backfire, especially as it can over-inflate one’s expectations for the gonzo filmmaking they’re about to witness. But Sriram’s movie — a grotesque odyssey through a place called Trashtown, which has shades of New Orleans and a hint of Los Angeles — is at least impressively strange. It’s the kind of project that, despite some flaws, allows Sriram to stake her claim as a filmmaker to watch, with a distinctive voice that mashes up rockabilly aesthetics with Tarot mysticism and an incredible dig at James Franco. This is the kind of thing you want to see at a festival like SXSW: Messy, but wholly original in its genre mashup.

As an actress, Sriram appeared on the likes of “Billions” and “The Blacklist,” shows that are tonally miles apart from “Fucktoys.
