I first heard of 'Jambareeqi Reviews' on the IMDb message boards and when I read about them, I was intrigued since I love animation and was really interested in watching an Internet review series based solely on animated films. After having watched quite a few of Jambareeqi's reviews (which I'll come to in the next section), I found him a tad better than Doug Walker and Lindsay Ellis (AKA the Nostalgia Critic and the Nostalgia Chick respectively) although both are also very good reviewers.

The first review of Jambareeqi's I watched was for 'Mary and Max.' I found it hugely fascinating because Jambareeqi mentions he has Asperger syndrome like Max in the film and as I mentioned in some of my other reviews on IMDb I have it too. I like the format of the reviews as well, especially the jam jar links that have labels for categories such as content, characters, animation style and music, his trademarks of his distinctive red hat and black T-shirt with strawberries on it (makes me think of strawberry jam) and also how he gives his star ratings (e.g. 5/5 chocolate stars for 'Mary and Max,' 4/5 sponge stars for 'The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie'). Jambereeqi uses a diverse vocabulary to deliver his reviews. Other reviews of his I've seen were for 'The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie,' 'Help! I'm a Fish,' 'Igor,' 'The Plague Dogs' and 'Beavis and Butt-Head Do America,' all of which I've seen before. I've also seen his mini-review for the television series 'Arthur,' which I watched when I was younger. Whilst watching the 'Arthur' review, I was surprised when Jambareeqi didn't mention the episode where George the moose meets Carl, a one-off rabbit character with Asperger syndrome but at least he mentioned it in his recent Q & A video while he was answering my question.

Overall, 'Jambareeqi Reviews' is probably the most unique Internet video review series I've seen so far and it is well recommended for film and animation buffs alike. I'm also happy to have Jambareeqi as a friend right here on IMDb, I subscribe to him on YouTube and I follow him on Facebook as well. 9/10 so far - I look forward to watching more of his reviews in the future, especially for other films I've seen before.
  • Do you want to know a little secret about myself? Back in my middle school years, I would get in a lot of trouble with my parents for watching YouTube shows "Smosh" and "Angry Grandpa." Then in the year 2017, when looking up "The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland", I stumbled upon a British movie critic called Jambareeqi. Soon enough, my troubles went away! In addition, during 2017, I was in severe depression and Jambareeqi's reviews were one of the few things that would cheer me up. Plus, it helped me escape my depression and become a better person.

But I suspect you don't care about my personal stuff and just want to know if "Jambareeqi Reviews" is worth watching. Well, as said in the title of this review, I think that it is the most underrated YouTube review series ever made to date. The best thing about the show, to me, is that it is super funny and entertaining while giving solid information about the review subject. Jambareeqi himself does say some foul language, sure, but he is still a really likable and sincere person deep down. All these aspects of "Jambareeqi Reviews" help make his videos really engaging to watch.

Now some people complain that "Jambareeqi Reviews" is too similar to other reviewers like Doug Walker, Chris Stuckmann, etc. But personally, Jambareeqi doesn't need to do everything differently. In fact, no aspiring movie reviewer needs to! Not to mention, Jambareeqi pulls off the hot-tempered reviewer shtick far better than the Nostalgia Critic because unlike him, Jambareeqi is never obnoxiously over-the-top.

Overall, I love "Jambareeqi Reviews" and am sad that it ended in December 2019. Fortunately, Jambareeqi is still making videos to this day and even has a channel on Twitch now. If you ask me to say who I think is the best YouTube movie critic is, I would most certainly say it's Jambareeqi! "Jambareeqi Reviews" gets an A+.

Jambareeqi Reviews is yet another Internet review series. Not like there's a shortage or anything. What does Jambareeqi have to other that other reviewers don't? To be truthful, not a whole lot.

Our good pal Jambareeqi first burst onto the YouTube scene with a show called "Review Anything" - only reason I know of it is because of Asalieri's video on it. In it, Jambareeqi dressed up in green and "reviewed anything" - anything in this case being mostly old cartoons. I watched an episode and it was horrible - he droned on and on despite having little to say. He made a few episodes before Asalieri reviewed him, and I guess he took it to heart because he closed up shop.

I went back on Asalieri's video a few weeks ago and saw a comment noting Sour Apple had returned as "Jambareeqi". So I trudge over to Jambareeqi's channel and watched a few videos. I have to say I'm not very impressed. He's definitely improved over his Sour Apple days but there are a number of kinks he has yet to work out.

Jambareeqi's reviews basically come off as 15 minutes of "I liked it/didn't like it". He reviews characters/plot to try and add depth, but he comes off as so wooden and uninterested in what he's saying that it really just bloats the videos. He just talks and talks and talks, and fails to say anything interesting to. He basically just spits out his shallow thoughts while clips of the movie roll on.

The reviews also feel very disjointed. They rumble on from one subject to the next, without anything smoothly transitioning his thoughts from one point to the next. In his review of "Pirates!" he muses about British humor for a few minutes before suddenly discussing how the film offended lepers. Then he jarringly shifts the focus to the film's historical inaccuracies. These make his videos feel clumsy and rushed. Jambareeqi tries mixing it up by attempting comedy sketches, but it makes his reviews feel like TGWTG rejects and his cookie-cutter review format doesn't lend well to this type of stuff.

Overall, although Jambareeqi has shown some improvement over his dreadful "Review Anything" series, similar issues plague his new show as well. There's too many Internet reviewers who simply relay generic criticisms about films in front of a camera, and Jambareeqi has done nothing to stand out. He adds some dull computer visuals to try and make his reviews nicer, but it's putting lipstick on a pig. Jambareeqi is just an uncharismatic reviewer and I don't care what he has to say in his videos. He failed to address much of the important criticism given to his Sour Apple videos and that's pretty sad. I would avoid watching Jambareeqi unless you HAVE to know his run-of-the-mill thoughts on "The Simpsons Movie".
  • I have not much to talk about him, some of his videos are great some of them are much much not... I rank him 4/10 and not higher because his older contect is not and I repeat NOT for children.
