The book the Beast uses to transport Belle to Paris is based on the book in Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas (1997) in the song "Stories", in which Belle flips through a book and is then incorporated into the scenes within the book.

Several 18th-century French characters are intimately familiar with the writings of William Shakespeare, which is highly unlikely although not impossible.
In the closing credits, the film title and crew credits come with a French subtitle to homage the French origins of the fairytale.
