You wouldn't think so because the title insists that the circumstances will be. You think 'no way. Probably just a bunch of gen-z one liners" etc etc. The relatability is cleverly weaved within the unhinged predicaments the characters wind up in. It feels like a bit of puzzle watching it. My wife and I have fun wondering WHAT the relatable circumstance or commentary will be once the episode begins and pausing 5 minutes in to take another guess. It's like Aesops Fables but wild, weird and stupidly funny. If you enjoy The Boondocks, Futurama and Rick and Morty--this show is like an offbeat mash up of all three. Based on the synopsis for the next episode, I can tell we are in for another wild ride. Kudos to Adult Swim! You've got another hit.
The other reviews leaving 3/10 are being too kind. The show lack direction or purpose. Feels like poor sloppy writing. Tries to develop relatability by sharing content that would be in a fluffy psychology podcast. Any attempt of connection to reliability is done by superficial means.
Show could become more depth if it dropped it's unnecessary content and shared it depth based on actual struggles every day individuals face across the episode versus using one liners for comedic relief.
Like others describe the episodes revolve around victimhood removing accountability and placing it on others. The show teaches all the qualities you should not have. A great watch for psychology students to observe mal adaptive coping mechanisms.

Animation style is horrible, the comedy is lacking. Feels like it's trying too hard but not at all, especially with the "relatable-ness" that it tried so hard to capture. Plenty better shows to watch such as a black dynamite or the boondocks instead of this, which sucks because it's be amazing to have another show of that caliber included in the adult swim lineup, actively being produced. The voice acting isn't bad but isn't necessarily great, although one or two of the voice actors do stand out in the mess. But the main gripe with this show is just the god awful animation choice, it screams low budget, don't care.
It's soo good ! The vivid animation pulls you in before you realize you hilariously relate to the intricate short sub plots they're throwing at you. From childhood trauma, ironic friendship bonding , to controversial societal issues they introduce several hidden messages whether it be cultural, generational, or just plain across the board we're all participating in this matrix of a place how could any of this not also be reality. Very fun & purposeful while also keeping it light with the comedy. This is perfect for adult swim. Cant't wait to see more episodes & love that it's its own thing, so needed. What a solid addition to the adult swim line up !
My take as a woman in her 20s:
It tries to be funny and relatable but it's only relatable if you're someone who blames their problems on other people, is selfish, is a bad friend, and has no aspirations in life.
The characters all do just that. They are toxic, and go around thinking only about themselves. They even comment on this and make jokes about it. They are all unhealthy because they have self-defeating attitudes and do nothing to help themselves or improve.
Bunch of victims.
Women in our 20s, we can be better than this.
Sick of seeing stuff that normalizes this behavior.
The women with purple hair and blue hair are cute, but that's all that's good about this show. It's poorly written and forgettable. Someone else listed it as cringey, perfect description.
