I have really enjoyed Chicago PD ever since it first started back in 2014. There are so many different police/crime shows to choose from these days that's it's hard to pick which ones to watch...watch this one. It shows how their unit investigates their cases. All the characters are well written with good back stories. That's what separates this from other cop shows, the characters development and the great cast that portrays these characters. I highly recommend this of your a fan of police shows. Every episode is satisfying and you can't say that about other cop shows. After ten seasons it's still one of the most entertaining cop shows on tv.
Chicago PD follows the Intelligence Unit as they investigated crimes in the city of Chicago. It's led by Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) who has a history of stepping over the line however he wants to get results. This series has a gritty feel to it that separates it from other police shows. The best thing about it is the cast (Beghe, Patrick John Flueger, Jesse Lee Soffer, LaRoyce Hawkins, Sophia Bush, Tracy Spiridakos, Marina Squerciati, Elias Korea's, etc.). It's one show of a bigger Chicago Universe that they created along with Chicago Fire & Chicago Med. I personally think Chicago PD is far and away the best of the 3 and definitely worth watching.

I love a good cop show and this one is definitely a great one! Great characters and development along with exciting plot lines. Season 8 was pretty terrible because they changed it completely to fit everyone's obsession with "all cops are bad" a few years back and I almost quit it. But season 9 was on par again! I am hoping it never ends and continues going in the right direction after the season 8 flop. I am impressed it hasn't become dull and repetitive for being on for so long!

By far the best of the Chicago trilogy, and it's not even close. Voight is the best cop character currently on tv. I've already given up on Med, and am close to the same with Fire. I'm not into soap opera-driven storylines occupying the majority of an episode. I put PD in the same category as Streets of San Francisco, Hill Street Blues, The Shield and The Wire to name a few. That is the best TV available.

This show is gritty, emotional, and clever. The story lines are pretty original and interesting, yet realistic. Sometimes the officers are forced to make some tough decisions that break law and I imagine this "gray area" is something police deal with more than we know. I like all of the characters in their own right. All are believable in their roles. This is by far the strongest of not only the Chicagos but of the Dick Wolf series.
Actually I liked it more when Voight was a tough cop, with his own code of justice, breaking the rules, ignoring some laws..that kind of his thing, that makes him Hank Voight! I am from eastern Europe and I don't know very well what happens in US, but I suppose that all these BLM movements, George Floyd's death had some impact to the show. It's really sad, when they change the main character to serve some political/social interest. It's not the same Chicago P. D now.

I really like how this show is done, i also like chicago med and chicago fire but this one so far is my favorite. I enjoy the action that keeps the show moving along at a really good pace, the mystery of trying to figure out where the show is goin before it gets there, and i've always liked cop shows so there might be a little bias on my part. So far im really liking the characters, the acting is pretty good and the overall story takes no time at all to get going so im invested in whats happening right away and im not having to suffer thro any slow burn type storylines. I think the action here is pretty good, the fights, the chases etc etc and overall its so far just a really good, action packed cop drama and i've always enjoyed those types of shows.

This is a great drama series, the whole cast work so well together and anyone of them would be missed but as we have seen the show manages to still do well with a spot of new blood. However Voight's character is key, remove Hank
Voight and for me there is no more Chicago PD.
I think Chicago PD and Chicago Fire are both amazing series. Better still, the story lines are based on factual events. Love it, love it, love it. Please don't let either end anytime soon.
The fact that these are great series, leaves me on edge every time I watch them. There is always suspense in every episode and they way they all work as a team and have each others backs, is amazing. Wish I could be part of the "family".
Please don't let these finish anytime soon...
Love Chiacgo Fire Love Chicago PD
A big thumbs up to producers, directors, story writers and most of all, the actors. Fantastic work all round

I have been a huge fan of all the Chicagos since the beginning of each one. I have watched the Chicago PDs 3 or 4 times. Have not like Upton since she began. It seems that most of the shows now feature her more than the others. I really want to see Kevin, Burgess, Ruzek, Trudy and Voight more often and so much less of Upton. I really miss Jay and Antonio and especially Al and Erin.
Burgess, Kevin and Ruzek have been with the Intelligence Unit longer than Upton. Please quit making her the # 1. For some reason you put her on FBI for a few shows, and that was awful as well. I'm sure she's a nice lady, just not made for law enforcement shows.

This is my favorite show. I have rewatched all episodes of the whow at least twice. I love Hank Voight. He is amazing character and so badass but in season 8 they are trynig to change him beacuse of police reform and they are trying to change the show too! This season firsf 5 episode are the worst episodes of chicago PD so far.
This is the second best Chicago franchise series behind the short lived Chicago Justice. It was fabulous for the first five seasons, until Erin, played by Sophia Bush, left the show. Although Bush is a middling, one-note actress, she fitted perfectly here and was the glue that held things together and provided a contrasting emotional and integrity tone to the grittier, near-to-the edge style of the group.
Watched the beginning of season seven and it has lost its way, time for NBC to find something new for this slot now.

In my opinion this show as well as Chicago Fire (Of which Chicago PD is a spin off of) are the best cop, paramedic and firefighter shows since Third Watch.
Chicago PD is full of action right off the bat and although it may not be the most realistic or factual cop show it is entertaining which is what TV is meant to be. If i wanted to see something realistic id watch a reality highway patrol show... ZzzZz
If you like Chicago Fire Third Watch, SVU or any of those type of shows your bound to love this!
I'm hooked and i've only seen one episode.

Not sure why people complain about morals. I don't watch these type of shows for morals, I watch them because they are fun. This show has their own justice which most of of understand we can't have, but would like to have. Bottom line well written show, great actors and actresses and down right a fun and entertaining show. I like the fact this this could be a crooked cop show, but does what is right to get the job done. Problem with the show is it's only on once a week. I am not sure if I can wait another week for episode 2.
If you are looking for a fun and exciting show, this is it. If you want morals and values, go watch Mr. Robinson

I'm not going to even lie, I was a little skeptical at first about this show. However, after watching it the first couple of weeks, I was really impressed. I started to find myself enjoying the show much more than I expected. I like the fact that all of the characters have a story line. Chicago Fire was already a great show but I like how the producer incorporates both shows together. Detective Voight was not my favorite person in the world when I first encountered him. However, after watching the show this First season, he is my favorite actor on the show now. Chicago PD is starting to become my favorite show on television. The action is great along with the characters!

I like PD, and the not-so-politically correct cops (as opposed to Blue Bloods). I am from Chicago, and I like seeing Chicago on TV. I get sooooo tired of New York and LA. I wish the street scenes made more of Chicago's fabulous architecture, historic neighborhoods, small business and gritty urban streets, instead of most of it being filmed in an industrial area. Law and Order uses New York very well in this regard. I wish PD would make better use of Chicago visually.

I love this show because it's so smartly written. There are none of those yelling at your TV moments when the cop goes in without backup or lets his guard down at the worst moment or tries to be a hero all by himself. In this show the characters act like a real cop should. When they get shot at, or they find a body, or they see something suspicious, they immediately radio it in and request backup and backup arrives in a realistic amount of time. The investigative tactics they use are realistic and smart. They don't just "figure things out" or solve a crime on a hunch. They follow real leads, and sometimes those leads are dead ends and sometimes they run out of leads and don't get the bad guy. That's why I love this show. It's realistic and smart. Oh, and I give this show bonus points for keeping the woke stuff to a bare minimum. They did a couple of shows with a side story about racism last season, but it's not too bad (unlike SWAT).

OK. Somebody please tell me there is a number more than 10 for this pilot. I am surprised to see Chicago P.D., specially from NBC. It's more than anything I've ever saw from Television so far and I'm Speechless. The violence is used for this series is almost enough to not be scared about and is not more than you expect to be a drama series. In years I saw so many police dramas from different networks, Criminal Minds, Justified, The Closer, Copper, Cracked, Crossing Lines and Dexter, but this is different. The idea is fresh, the casts are Good, the plot is not Predictable (I think because I just saw the pilot), directing was good, visual effects are astonishing and the series is so far building to my expectations. I cannot wait to see more. Hope this will be continues in next episodes. 10/10.

People who said this show made them angry? Are you for real? Seriously, how can a show make you angry? You have some thin skin!
This show is great. I never saw a single episode of Chicago Fire but I think this is one of the best Cop shows to come out in a long time.
About the Cliché characters. What do you expect? Characters are what makes or breaks a show! People watch to root for their Character!
This show delivers and is interesting. What is there not to like if you watch Cop shows?
The first show grabbed my attention and held it the entire show and the second and third were close to as good.

I used to love this show and thought it was the best of all the cop shows out there. Now I feel it's become a bit stale though. The cases are not that interesting and the personal drama between these people are just boring. Specially the last couple of seasons have been pretty meh. Maybe it's time to pack it up and move on to other shows. It's just too bad that most shows have terrible writing nowadays. Soap operas in the 90's had better writing than some of these dramas nowadays. Funny, but true.
Still a 7/10 from me because Jason Beghe is awesome and the show once was pretty good.

FINALLY a great TV show...I'm sick to death of reality TV, my life is reality, I watch TV to get away from reality... it's about time they brought TV back to what it's suppose to be, entertaining! This show has it all, it's full of action, with a side of funny, and a dose of crime. I think the TV people need to find a way to better calculate their ¨ratings¨ bc more & more people, like myself, watch TV online. I watch ALL my TV online & if your ratings were accurate Chicago PD would be off the charts with how many times I've watched each episode, it's basically on a running loop on my computer now. So let's hope the networks get smart & figure out a better way to get their ¨ratings.¨ There aren't many shows that you like all the cast members, there's usually someone you don't really like but I love everyone on this show. Great Casting Job... LOVE LOVE LOVE Jason Beghe... Give me a badge a gun and I'll be Voights ¨dirty¨ sidekick in a heartbeat lol We'd clean up Chicago. Great Job NBC, now don't screw it up. ---- OK, so after reading all the comments I feel the need to ¨re-comment¨...Lets start with Voight, ya he did a crappy thing on Chicago Fire, he also went to jail for it, this show is his 2nd chance,(people do deserve them) you can tell he thrives on catching the bad guy & will go the distance to do it, he's a little aggressive lol but definitely the kind of cop I'd want handling a case for me(lets think about it, has he ever abused the rights of an innocent?...no) ;) He's a great lead!! Those of you who actually believe your cops do things by the book are naive & have never gone through the system. The system is corrupt no matter how innocent you are, if they want you to be guilty, you are guilty! TO: ¨wallow¨ this is LIFE, maybe you live where its all unicorns & rainbows but most people don't, sounds like you need to get out of the house & if you don't like cop shows anyways then your opinion doesn't really matter. To: less than a minute, god help us if we all act like u! Would that be church TV for all? Does every show need to OK it with whatever city they are basing a show on? Disclaimers for everyone? Geeez Louise! To cliché 101, what cop show does have believable cops? If the cast is ugly who's gonna watch? At least they put realistic shoes on Sophia Bush. Watch Criminal Minds, CSI, L&O SVU & the lady cops are wearing 5 inch heels running down the street, now that's unbelievable. Angry and insulted eh? I think you need counselling, it's just TV, then again you do watch Rizzoli & Isles so that explains a lot. Now that show sucks! To must miss TV: This show is actually a little different from the same ole cop shows, but how different can you make them? Cops fight crime, not like they can go spice it up & send them to fight fires or have them out tap dancing in the streets *rolling my eyes* To very unconvincing: If this show is receiving so many high ratings but you don't like it, what does that say about your taste? Then again you're from the UK & I've watched UK TV, it's like watching a homemade movie in slow motion. TO PD Poor... The story lines are awesome... Dialogue unbelievable? WTH? It's only had 11 episodes, how much can a character develop, geeez give it a chance. It's an action/drama, not suspense! This is not a soap, they are tough cops doing a tough job, no slowing down. So they don't have time to all gather around, cry & sing kumbaya for Jewells. How can Seda's wife be pushing him away? She's been in the show twice? Are you for real? Some people just like to complain. I just felt like responding to some of the most ridiculous comments I've ever heard about a TV show. IT IS TV PEOPLE!! NOT REALITY!

Season 11 is the worst season aired!
I was aware of what was happening in the industry and the writers before this season came out, and yet, since the new showrunner took over in season 10, the show has been on the decline.
The storytelling has too many gaps. Some things don't make sense, and others are too overly explained by the characters.
Most importantly, the team no longer works together like they used to; they focus on one character, and the rest disappears in the background. They are no longer interacting like a team, and the drama from underlining complex human experiences is now flat. I LOVE the show. I still watch the reruns on Peacock, and it's painful to see what has become. Please, please, please fix it SOON.
