| "One last ride"
One of the best action film that exists out there and definitely the best in the Furious series. With death defying stunts and terrific visuals, it is a match made in heaven for petrol-heads. From jumping cars off an aircraft to jumping between buildings in Abu Dhabi, it puts shivers down your spine! Rock pulling off his signature move to street fight between Vin Diesel and Jason Statham and yet one cannot get enough of the action. This is pure entertainment at its best. As if this wasn't enough, the tribute to Paul Walker in the end was emotional and the best thing about this film. He got a send-off that he deserved! Those last scenes cannot be emphasized enough upon. Overall it is the best action flick so far this year.

"Whether I'm a quarter mile away or halfway across the world, the most important people in the room are mi familia."

Trivia

Because cinematographer Stephen F. Windon was unavailable to finish shooting the film following the hiatus in production, his job was taken over by his longtime friend and collaborator Marc Spicer, who was originally on the film shooting visual effects plates for the Abu Dhabi scenes. The two share billing in the opening credits.

Quotes

Letty: Did you bring the cavalry?
Hobbs: Woman, I am the cavalry.

Goofs

Upon entering Azerbaijan, a transporter was being passed which began firing multiple mini-guns. The sound from this weapon does not make the rat-tat-tat of a machine gun but rather a "bzzzzzzt" sound from firing up to 6,000 rounds each, per minute.

Crazy Credits

Before the credits, there is a title card that reads, "For Paul", dedicating the film to deceased star Paul Walker.

Alternate Versions

The 140-minute extended version of the film has the following additions:

  • No doubt the biggest addition is the longer opening sequence where Deckard narrates their shared past as children including him punished by their father for what Owen would steal. He also knew that Owen would end up in the current predicament despite being a gangster, smarter, better and being trained by him. It then continues to the theatrical-version's opening of laying the machine gun on Owen's chest before he leaves the hospital.
  • A different line when Deckard responds to Hobbs why he's in his office: "I don't care for your computer. I'm here for the team that crippled my brother."
  • The graveyard chase is slightly longer.
  • The number of punches, kicks and head butts between Letty and Kara is almost doubled.
  • The shootout at the warehouse is longer, especially it has Mr. Nobody killing a three more of Jakande's mercenaries.
