A small group of former classmates organize an elaborate, annual game of tag that requires some to travel all over the country.

In the forest scene, Jerry places a boom box on the ground in front of a tree and presses play on the cassette deck. "Crazy Train" by Black Sabbath begins to play and can be heard throughout the forest, but the reels on the cassette never turn while the music is playing.
Though the film opens with a caption stating it is inspired by a true story, and even closes with an image of the actual Wall Street Journal article, the credits do include the standard disclaimer about the film and its characters being fictional.
