Rubber Lust

Kendo pours on his fetish specialty in this rubber/latex exercise, with his usual techniques: cropped shots, fancy editing, out-of-focus visuals, many repeated shots and cold, unemotional sex depictions.

Something different here is his toying with a variation on the sex vignettes approach to all-sex porn. Besides his favorite gimmick of throwing in old shots as memory jogs, he has the five segments here heavily interrelated by frequent cross-cutting between one scene (as shot) with another, rather than presenting 5 intact scenes in succession. Net result is a maximization of repeat shots, not very satisfying.

Each segment is given a pretentious and fairly meaningless title, like "The Dark Side of Light" and "Resurrection". Pretentious is the word for this hodge-podge of explicit sex footage. Number one drawback is a reliance on close-ups giving the video a highly claustrophobic effect.

In the inevitable BTS short subject, Kendo while examining costumes relates a lengthy anecdote about his porn acting days 15 years earlier, when he was featured in a video called "Freaks of Nature 2", outfitted with prosthetic cock (he claims as the handiwork of crew who worked on the "Batman" feature films). It amounts to a bit of self-deprecation instead of the self-aggrandizement featured in his other BTS spiels.
