A blot on the good name of Afrikaans movies

Although this movie has some excellent actors, I will not recommend it at all.

The concept is good, but the storyline and execution is clumsy. The movie takes long to get to a point, and I would recommend more editing. Even the good actors seem like amateurs.

I understand that a good story needs to have development in the characters. But Mareike's character is so irritating that you can barely stand her. It's only in the last half hour (two hour long movie) that she becomes bearable.

For me, it is a blot on the good name of Afrikaans movies. Even the use of language is bad. I don't mind a few English words here and there, but to use a word like "huidiglik" in a professional business environment?

The little boy's Afrikaans is unintelligible, and I had to read the English subtitles to understand what he was saying.

I'm disappointed to say the least.

love lika berning

I absolutely love this movie + I am a huge fan of Lika Berning the daughter of well known Director Reghardt v/den Berg and well known Afrikaans actress Jana Ciliers. Mareike(Lika Berning) has just inherited a huge bakery in a little town cald wakkerstroom the thing is she can't bake to safe her life.Omg you can just imagine what is about to unfold.To make things worst an old friend of her aunt (Marga Van rooy) sign her in for "vrou soek Boer" without her knowing. Funny stuff. 8/10. Very good for a Afrikaans movie this movie also includes oher huge Afrikaans stars such as Nico Panagio,the legendary Magda Beukes and Bok van blerk who is pushing his stamp on Afrikaans movies. Bok Van blerks other movies include the all successful movies Platteland,As jy sing and Leading Lady!!!!
