'Mr Bigstuff follows two estranged brothers; Glen (Sampson), a nervy perfectionist and carpet salesman striving to live a suburban ideal and Lee (Dyer), an alpha male with a prescription drug addiction and a tin full of their dad's ashes.'
I really didn't know what to expect when I first put on Mr Big stuff but I was genuinely happily surprised. It's a show that doesn't take itself too seriously, well doesn't take itself seriously at all - but it works. There are numerous moments with perfect comedic timing and the casting is great too. Danny Dyer is fantastic alongside Ryan Sampson whilst Adrian Scarborough and Faitha El-Ghorri were also standout in there roles. It also felt like they were having genuine fun with it also.
Mr Bigstuff is not trying to be groundbreaking, but is a feel-good series that is genuinely worth a watch, has the sort of easy to watch / easy going vibe to watch after a long day and unwind.
I'd give it a 7/10.

I'm only halfway through this series so far and am really enjoying this. I cannot understand the bad reviews at all! I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before starting it as it may have put me off watching.
It has a great cast, it's easy to watch, and quite funny! Those reviews that are saying Danny Dyer is playing Danny Dyer clearly haven't got past the first episode. He may have used his own accent, but his character is entirely different!
Can't wait to finish this and I hope it gets renewed for a second season.
Seems to me that this show is like marmite, you're either going to love it or hate it. But give it a try and don't quit on the first episode!!!

It is remarkable that Sky have yet again managed to produce a "comedy" whose whole premise seems to be about how much swearing they can get into each episode. It is really lazy writing and is at the expense of any coherent plot or character development. Danny Dyer plays Danny Dyer as Danny Dyer. Ryan Sampson gets double the blame for appearing in it and also writing it. I can't comment on the later episodes, already available on Now TV, as I've given up but I'd be surprised if they improved any.
If Sky want to attract and maintain subscribers, they are really going to have to screen far better programmes than this lame attempt.

I love both Ryan Sampson and Danny Dyer so thought this would be good. The first episode was certainly different but the more you watch, the more you are drawn in. It's definitely not for everyone but if like me you enjoy a giggle, are not easily offended and have no issue with swearing (and the c-word) then seriously give this a go. Not only humorous, it does get a bit deep at times. The actors play the parts well and Sampson and Dyer are an unlikely combination, but it works really well... a modern Del Boy and Rodney 😀
Although it is a six parter, be prepared that you may want to binge it... I did!

I love Ryan Sampson and don't mind DannyDyer but this has to be the worst opening episode to a comedy ever. There wasn't a single humorous moment in it. Ryan should stick to acting which he excels at and leave writing to those who know what funny is! The premise has been done before a million times but simply throwing in the entire lexicon of swear words, have a character drink someone's phlegm accidentally (which will make most people feel violently nauseous) and have yet another supposedly outrageous wanking scene does not a comedy make. There has to be timing, context and a punchline or subversion. But none of these applied anywhere in this dire garbage. Do yourselves a favour and avoid like the plague,

I genuinely enjoyed this series, a bit slow to start with then it's just gets better. It's has some great comedy moments and some really good feel factor moments as well. It was nice that I could finally watch something that my teenagers boys enjoyed too and we could watch as a family. Genius hiring Adrian Scarborough. There is really good chemistry between the cast I didn't want it to end. Love Ryan Sampson it was nice to see him play something a bit normal. It would be nice if the episodes where a bit longer. Looking forward to the next series which has been set up really well. Hope we don't have to wait too long for it!!
I love Danny Dyer and will watch most things he's in ...but NOT THIS ... IT'S AWFUL!
There's no comedy ... he's overacting and more shouty than usual ... who ever wrote the script must have had some Happy Pills because the humour is non existent ... I couldn't even get through the first episode ... don't waste your time watching this ... the great reviews I would suggest are not genuine? ... shame as we need some new great comedies but this failed 0/10 .There's no comedy ... he's overacting and more shouty than usual ... who ever wrote the script must have had some Happy Pills because the humour is non existent ... Gave this show a go after seeing the trailer. Was a bit dubious when the first episode started. Wasn't sure what to make of it. But gradually as the episode went on, little bits & pieces actually made me laugh out loud. Only intended to watch one episode before bed. I've ended up binge watching every episode. To say this show is well written would be an understatement. It's hilariously funny & poignant in equal measure. The characters have great depth and the actors bring them to life perfectly. I would definitely recommend giving this show a go. The ending was outstanding. I really hope there's a second series. Well done all involved.

Just finished binging this great series. Great acting, great humour. Danny Dyer has found himself again after losing his personality on EastEnders.
It starts as it means to go on and dives straight into the story line which is great, you don't have to watch endless fluff to get the backdrop which is the case for some other series.
You will repeat the spoon dance scene around 10 times and laugh just as hard each time.
The only issue is when you finish you are left awaiting the 2nd season which must surely be in the pipeline as it is fully set up for it.
Some of the characterisations are really funny, Glen's boss is hilarious on his own and everyone has seen an Ayesha character these days. Both very funny.
Highly recommend, unsure how there are 1/10 ratings, that is a bit of an insult to a thoroughly entertaining production.

I put the first episode of this on to try it out and ended up binging the entire show in one night. There are some genius moments throughout, some that had me belly laughing, others that had me crying. The writing is brilliant.
The characters become more well rounded as the show goes on. I'm genuinely going to miss seeing them on my screen. The actors all did a brilliant job, and the comedic timing is second to none.
The last episode is incredibly heartwarming, whilst still keeping up the humour. Ryan Sampson and Danny Dyer's acting throughout the series is great, but in this episode especially.
If you watch the first episode and aren't sure you're going to like the rest, I'd recommend sticking with it, it's worth it.

Laughed from the start to the finish. So ridiculously silly but so bloody funny. Not normally a fan of Danny Dyer, but the casting is impeccable. Yes, the language is a bit fruity, but you can actually imagine these people speaking this way. Personally, bad language... Or language as I like to call it (who says it's bad) doesn't bother me. In this instance it enhances the narrative. If you enjoy farcical sweaty comedy and have previously enjoyed Brassic give it a go, I don't think you'll be disappointed. If swearing offends then maybe give it a miss, although I think you'll be missing a gem. I really hope they do more.

Am not one to give a 10 for anything tbh, but this was made for Danny to play, they kept it short so it did'nt become too much at once, and leaves you wanting more.
Dyer has never been a great actor generaly, but he uses what he has learnt over the yrs and puts it to good use in this series making you feel it was made for him, which it probably was lol Starts off good, and just gets better every episode. Normaly at best i may have a slight smile at situation comedies like this, or have to switch off halfway thru the pilot due to insistance on canned laughter every other sentence as if telling us when we should laught even tho it's not actually fuunny, but this doesn't have that rubbish and does'nt need it,you either find the writing funny or you don't, and i suspect like myself most will find something to laugh about every episode mulitiple times like i did, a reccomended watch even if Dyers normal lack of acting abilities does normaly put yopu off, give this a chance as he has upped his game for this one ;P.

This show is an absolute gem. Not only is it hilarious, but it also explores themes of masculinity with a sensitivity that feels both heartfelt and modern - not something I'd expected to see in a comedy with Danny Dyer! So refreshing.
The first episode is fast-paced and dives straight into the story, introducing a host of fascinating, quirky, and standout supporting characters right from the start. There are lots of throwaway funny moments that genuinely made us laugh out loud. I had to pause a couple of times because we were laughing so much that we missed the next bit of dialogue!
But don't let this fool you into thinking it's just a comedy. The show gets better and better with every episode. Come for the laughs, stay for the great character development and compelling story (and more laughs ofc). No spoilers but the last Ep in particular is fantastic, with great acting and some unexpected twists! It 100% earns the title of comedy-drama.
Yes, there is a lot of swearing, so if that's not your bag then maybe it's not for you, but you'll be seriously missing out. Personally, I don't understand the bad reviews here at all, this show is brilliant and feels like something new.
Thanks Ryan Sampson! We need more of this Sky!!

Sky has again delivered a delightful, fun, and friendly comedy with Mr Bigstuff. I've Just finished after watching over the wekend, this really is a great show, it's a clever and witty with deep character development which IMO redefines masculinity and brings much-needed attention to men's mental health. It also talks about relationships, and also the struggle for many couples.
From the go the series dives straight into the story, getting rid of the usual tedious fluff that often bogs shows down. The writing is brilliant, packed with genius moments that made me laugh out loud, and a moment or two that gave me a lump in my throat.
Danny D shines in a role that has helped him rediscover his more fun-side after his stint on EastEnders. His performance, especially in the last episode, is both hilarious and heartwarming. Ryan Sampson and the rest of the cast also deliver stellar performances, great comedic timing and well-rounded character portrayals that grow richer as the series progresses.
The show has its fair share of standout moment, including.... spoons!
And Ayesha who is absolute jokes!
It's a series that you can easily binge in one sitting.
Highly recommend giving it a try - don't let negative reviews deter you, it's fun, it's silly and at times makes you emotional!
Thanks Sky, Cheers Ryan.

As usual someone watches one episode, you know that episode where the most important bits are setting the characters and plot up, and decide they don't like it. I fear for their attention span in watching anything over 30mins long. I also wonder why they are compelled to write a brat whine about the tiny bit they saw.
I found the first episode entertaining and wanted to watch more. And so I did. This is a great, funny series with great comic acting. Of course the plot is ludicrous, what comedy isn't (have these people ever watched Brassic et al), and it is that very silliness that makes it so entertaining. Give it a go. You'll enjoy it.

Personally I love this sort of humour. Bizzare weird and most of all different to what's out there. Probably offends some but we all not what movement there on. I say stick with it as I laughed more than once in every episode, alot of humour nowadays seems worried about offending the next person and this comedy is balls to the wall funny and doesn't care about who it offends. You can watch it in two sittings or just binge through it in one under 3 hours. Danny Dyer is on top form and the rest of the cast are great. There are some misses but alot of the comedy does hit. Well written Ryan Sampson.
