After a threat from the tiger Shere Khan forces him to flee the jungle, a man-cub named Mowgli embarks on a journey of self discovery with the help of panther Bagheera and free-spirited bear Baloo.
This movie was released in India on April 8, a week ahead of its U.S. debut, to pay tribute to the Indian environment of the movie and novel.
Many strange tales are told of this jungle, but none so strange as the tale of the cub we call Mowgli.
The credits list a character as "neelgai deer". The correct spelling is NILGAI, and it is an antelope, not a deer.
The Disney logo has a hand-drawn animated design and resembles the 1960s Disney logo, to homage The Jungle Book (1967)'s era. The logo features Disneyland attractions of the 1960s: the Mark Twain Riverboat, the King Arthur Carrousel, the Casey Jr Circus Train, the Matterhorn, the Main Street USA, and the Jungle Cruise riverboat/landmarks.
