This game is based on an early cut and scripted version of Alien³ (1992), which explains why some elements are not in the finished movie. For example, the boss of Stage 1 is called a "super-Facehugger", which is most likely inspired by the "Royal Facehugger" (a bigger Facehugger that can implant a Queen chestburster) that was later cut from the Theatrical version. The same is true for an abattoir with dead oxen hanging upside down (chestbursters will jump out of some) seen in Stage 3. These elements were restored in the longer Assembly Cut of the movie released in 2003.
The game is a very loose adaptation of Alien³ (1992), and contains many elements from Aliens (1986), such as the use of pulse rifles, the interior of the Sulaco, the surface of planet Fury 161 (which has small rock formations reminiscent of LV-426), the industrial installations (probably meant to be the Atmosphere Processor), the sentry guns, and the gray Warrior Aliens.
