Ed and Lorraine Warren travel to North London to help a single mother raising 4 children alone in a house plagued by a supernatural spirit.
Loosely based upon the Warrens' investigation of the Enfield poltergeist. That incident drew multiple different teams of investigators, and Maurice Grosse and Guy Lyon Playfair's investigation was fictionalized as The Enfield Haunting (2015).
After everything we've seen, there isn't much that rattles either of us anymore. But this one... this one still haunts me.
Later in the movie, when Ed Warren asks her where the old chair came from, she said her ex-husband bought all the furniture with the house. Her ex-husband couldn't have bought the house as local councils didn't sell their properties in the 1970s. Also, local councils didn't supply any furniture when a house was re-let. Anything left behind by a previous occupant would have been disposed of before any new tenant moved in.
During the end of the first set of credits, you can hear the actual recording of Ed Warren talking to Janet.
