The former World Heavyweight Champion Rocky Balboa serves as a trainer and mentor to Adonis Johnson, the son of his late friend and former rival Apollo Creed.
The Swedish born Ludwig Göransson, who also scored Fruitvale Station (2013), worked to find a contemporary soundtrack that mirrored the iconic songs from the previous films. He also focused on giving Adonis his own theme.
Apollo? Yeah, he was great. Perfect fighter. Ain't nobody ever better.
Adonis Johnson: So how did you beat him?
Rocky Balboa: Time beat him. Time, you know, takes everybody out. It's undefeated.
Towards the end of the movie. After Adonis Johnson (Creed) shows up at Bianca's apartment door, the top dead bolt is already in the unlocked position (north to south). Adonis and Bianca continue to dialogue and the dead bolt remains in the same position. Yet just before Bianca finally let's Adonis in, the dead bolt is suddenly in the locked position (east to west) and Bianca ends up unlocking it (north to south) to let him in.
Only movie in the Rocky series which Stallone didn't get top-billing.
