  • SO many good things about this and SO many ways it could go.

Definite yes for this one. Katherine Kelly is great. Her storyline means she could literally go on forEVER and can do so much. Ditto Anne Reid's character and since SHE can morph into whatever, just think of the possibilities. The tragic Gregg Chingirian' s character, nummy to look at, and all KINDS of possibilities.

Everybody can act. The writing is excellent and the direction.

With such a dearth of material out there, work like this and in such a popular genre, would find a pretty big audience I would imagine. Of course it has been awhile since this came out, so the players may not all be available, but . . .
  • I recently discovered this "movie" on PrimeTV and saved it to watch around Halloween. I am glad I didn't wait and decided to watch it earlier. Really, I couldn't wait as I really enjoy Katherine Kelly and Anne Reid's work. Both these women are very talented actors. This story would have/could have been SO good but someone decided not to finish it. BBC just let it die! It ended just as it was getting interesting. What a huge disappointment. Apparently I have to find more words to finish and submit this review but there is not a lot to say about something so short. So I will end by saying BOO to BBC!

It's very disappointing that this excellent small film didn't become a series. There was so much to work with in the characters and the plot line.
  • Man, I was HUGELY disappointed when I found out this was a tv-movie and not a tv-series. It seemed low-budget but I enjoyed it.
  • I was just googling about on Amazon when I saw this film and decided the plot summary was interesting enough to give it a go. Though understated, the plot jumped up and started running immediately. When it ended, it felt like hitting a wall at a run. The sudden realization that it was over and there was no second episode left me stunned and begging for more, but there was no more to be had. Cinema interruptus, to put a name to it. This show doesn't ask for a series, it stands up, stomps it's feet and demands a series. That those responsible for not provide one is a crime. I can only pray that someone with money and some sense of cinematic justice with pick up this poor orphan and give it the family of deserves.
