During a high-stakes poker game in a casino room, the power is shut down and there is a blackout. Out of the blue, a man wearing a motorcycle helmet breaks into the room, shoots the security guard, throws strobe balls and steals one-million-dollar cash and chips. Then he flees ridding a motorcycle through the streets but is stopped by a security guard that kills him with three shots. However, David Phillips finds neither bullet wound nor blood on his body. When they remove his helmet, his face is swollen; and they also learn that the money and chips he was carrying are fake. Brass interviews the persons in the room while the CSIs process the room and the security guard that was killed. They note that the gambler Robert Gentry, who lost a large amount in the game, is missing. The robber Clint Tyree was a motorcycle stunt driver at the casino and his entire body is swollen. Dr. Robbins finds an injection mark on his shoulder and Finn finds the same mark on his coat, showing that someone injected something into him. Hodges finds that the strobe balls are used in the casino show and disturbed the video. The maintenance worker Ryan Archer tells Sara and Morgan that to shutdown the light, the person should have the access code. When Robert Gentry is found with the casino chips, Nick believes he is connected to the robbery. But soon Ryan becomes a suspect and is brought to interrogation, and the CSIs and LVPD learn that his son was abducted and he was forced to participate the heist.
"Take the Money and Run" is an episode of "CSI" with many research from the investigators. There are many participants in the casino heist with greater or lesser participation and they die, one by one. And also, a kidnapping to create more confusion in the investigation to find the mastermind. But the case is brilliantly resolved by the team. My vote is seven.
