Brilliant

So much can be said without getting in your face and actually saying anything.

The way Jacob and Zach handle their breakup. So relatable. People are just people. Gregory, a black man, a respectable ladies man, can put his hand on the shoulder of a gay white man, and give comfort.

Mx. Cassidy. They didn't say anything and no one asked. Casually dropping "their." Representation matters. Brilliant.

Ava dropping zingers but also the voice of reason for Barbara? Barbara sings her beautiful song. At school! And its beautiful. Don't be all in a huff about nothing.

Excellent display in humanity. People are people.

The plot of this episode provides a pretense for Sheryl Lee Ralph (Barbara) to show off her singing talents. Ralph, an accomplished musical performer, has appeared in many Broadway musicals, including the original Broadway cast of Dreamgirls (for which she was nominated for a Tony, for Best Actress in a Musical).
