I have been watching this with my daughter for a while and after 3 or 4 seasons this is what i sorted out of what's going on... There is this insane rich orphan kid called Ryder that uses his family money to buy (make?) this huge modified vehicles, like super trucks and crazy planes, this in order to save a city from the evil schemes of the monopoly top hat old guy and a bunch of innocent cats, in order to fight crime this kid uses some mutant dogs (that probably were victims of Ryder paranormal experiments ) that can drive cars and planes with their minds....
People in the City are completely brainless and are always doing stupid things ending up in a complete mess that can be sorted out only by Paw Patrol....
I will give this 5 stars and check some more seasons in order to try to discover Who were Ryder missing parents and how did they got loaded with money.

lisaespinoza-340858 August 2018My son loves this show, but in this particular episode I have one really curious question. When Mr. Porter's oven blows up and he can no longer cook his famous chili. He calls on Ryder and his pups to help. So they come up with a plan to cook the chili outside because Mr. Porter's stove is broken. You mean to tell me that in all of Adventure Bay nobody else has a damn stove? I mean where does Ryder and Mayor Goodway cook their meals for the day. Really I am seriously concerned about how everybody else cooks their meals. Also why is that rubble is cooking the chili and not Ryder or Mayor Goodway. Can anybody help me figure this out?

My 4-year old has graduated from Gecko's Garage (his favourite when 2 years old), Peppa Pig (when 3) to now Paw Patrol.
It's been fun to follow this progression with him, and especially now I can see him enjoy some real adventure-storytelling: epic calamities & fantastic rescues with a well-written cast of likeable heroes. It's never too scary, but has enough jeopardy to make it the first 'exciting' thing this 4-year old has watched. He loves the problem-solving nature and it's seeping nicely into real-life, for example when he's got a conundrum when building his tracks he'll stand up excitedly and proclaim: "I have an idea!".
The stories are solid, the support cast are fun (the two Mayors add a lot of character) and the 3D CGI-graphics don't get tiresome.
I try to watch episodes with him, it's good to talk together about what's happening. But as fellow parents know it's nice to take the time-out and do something 'child-free' for a bit. I make sure he watches only full episodes (or one of the feature-length titles) so he gets the full narrative experience.
Warning: don't look for this on Youtube: there's no full episodes, just randomly-edited long compilations and unofficial troll-made content with adult themes. Amazon Prime should have full episodes, as well as other reliable sites out there, tho' I recommend having an adblocker on. DVDs are hard to find here in Europe. -
JosephStevenCiurczak16 December 2018While it has some qualities of most Nick Jr shows,the animation seems decent,and the characters,although annoying,are tolerable for the older kids and up! And Season 1 is the least favorite,but it is still not bad. Unlike other nick jr. shows which have very boring ideas,this has some rather creative ideas,like how they added more pups and more vehicles. The girl thing is really mixed. On one side it promotes girl power. But that being said,there is only 2 female members in the team. But with that said,despite the 6 out of 10 rating,I recommend you watch it.

It's a GREAT cartoon that shows kids the importance of: teamwork, helping others, responsibility and doing the right thing. It's a clean and good show for any kid.

Get rid of mayor humdinger and all the other characters that are not setting a good example for our children.

This is possibly the lowest quality kids show around. None of the story or character ideas make sense and have just been randomly chosen by the writers "because it's fun". Ryder generally chooses Chase for missions when there are far better pups for the job.
Episodes rarely have a message or lesson to be learnt. It's a show entirely for entertainment and kids love it for that.
If you can avoid your child watching it, great. But even one episode and they'll be hooked. -
Bignosebeaker24 June 2015I see why PAW Patrol is so popular - it's funny, but nothing too harsh for a preschool-aged viewer. Unlike most preschool-oriented programs, this show never tries to "hammer home" educational concepts or gets too repetitive (although I must say that the few episodes involving a minor character named Alex were quite bad). The six pups' names were a bit difficult to get down at first, but it seems as if they're engraved in my head now. As for Ryder - the boy in charge of the whole operation - he's a good role model; unlike some TV show "leaders" I've seen, he demonstrates leadership in a very positive way. Cap'n Turbot, the scientist character, is also a positive role model who might just inspire young fans to learn more about science and biology. There are definitely messages about teamwork and overcoming differences in each episode. Overall, I think that PAW Patrol has the potential to become a kiddie show classic like Dora the Explorer or SpongeBob.

suranatsuwannasap20 March 2023I used to watch this show when I was younger (used to watch when I was 6-7, now 14), and it really grew on me. I stopped watching after season 2 (mainly due to me being attached to Pokémon instead). So I don't have the best knowledge on the newer spin-offs. But for me, the show was enjoyable and teaches children to help people in need, and teamwork. The main characters are very fun to watch too, like Chase, Rubble and Marshall. Coming back to watch it 7 years later and I found out how annoying and dumb the adult characters are. I mean, they make the PAW Patrol look like actual grown ups with their maturity. Not only they are immature, but they are some of the most annoying characters on the show. Take for example, Captain Turbot, Mayor Goodway, Mayor Humdinger, etc. Though the newer villains are (surprisingly) less of a headache to watch. So to sum it up, it's a good show that teaches values on teamwork, helping people, and more. But only if you can get over the side characters that are the most immature adults on the face of the earth.

This entire series is very obviously created to sell merchandise, and based on the 55 million lunchboxes, pillowcases and millions of little figures, one would assume it is achieving its goal. This entire series teaches children nothing, and the characters that have zero personality use endless specialized mechanical tools to problem solve. The adults are morons and the leader a boy who has no family. There is zero character development, cats are inexplicably demonized, and the pups (main characters) all have stupid phobias. The story lines are carbon copies of the last episodes and extremely uncreative and the animation style is boring and uninspired.
I really dislike this series and don't want to insult my toddlers intelligence with it. I've seen worse on tv, but this is far from the best. It's just empty filler, not educational, not fun, just boring. If you want your kids to request every single stupid piece of merchandise based on Paw Patrol then just show them this show. -
isaacwest-660013 October 2023While some of the reviews obvious anger at a kid's show having talking dogs is entertaining, the fact is no show was watched more at my mom's day home, because it grabbed the kid's attention more than anything. The same was true for my younger family members when they were younger. Because I was often babysitting tried to get them to watch kids shows that I liked as a kid like SpongeBob but in the end the kids always circled back to PAW Patrol. The show does exactly what it should, no more, no less. And heck, there were even a few rare gems where I had to chuckle. Are you, as an adult gonna enjoy? No. Well, probably not. Will your kid eat it up? Yes; and that's what matters.

arielsiere31 May 2022I have a lot of complains for example i find the animation to be bland, the characters act very clueless and annoying, the show can be repetitive and formulaic and the plot keeps on repeating non stop man i find this show to be meh and not as good as any other shows on nick jr.

karyu19 October 2020I'll make it plain and simple: it's a kid's show placed in a non-sensical universe (where dogs can talk while all other animals can't) with unimportant plots, stupid and annoying characters and forced situations in which the help of the PAW Patrol is needed for no apparent reason. It's clearly just meant to sell as much merchandise as possible, but other than that it's pretty harmless. The animation is decent and there was clearly put some effort in this during production, which makes it appealing for small kids...which is also the biggest problem...having to endure this borefest for the sake of your children only to hear them scream for more and leaving you with spending your hard earned money on stuff no one needs makes me want to rue the day this was ever invented. But what can you do? Kids love it...!

poppeka17 April 2014Paw Patrol shows children the importance of being involved in the city you reside in. The pups are mirrors of real life superheros like firemen, police officers, or sea rescue. Also, the interactions the dogs have with the people like the mayor is great! Yes kids should know the three the big three....(reading, writing, math)....but they should have an idea of how to get along with people they meet day to day through basic communication. Wrapped in great bright colors which children like and good voice acting this show looks pretty good to me! Sometimes as reviewers and adults, its hard to review shows meant for children many years younger than us. Before saying negative things about this show, look to your inner kid, or better yet look at YOUR kid when he watches this show....As long as its educational and your child is entertained, what more can you ask for!! Great to know shows like this are still out there.

Mayor of the town is a woman of colour - who is portrayed as incompetent and constantly in need of the help of the boys. Sets a GREAT example for my daughter.

It's a perfect show for parents who want to keep their kids entertained and learning at the same time. Paw Patrol is a show that parents can feel good about letting their kids watch. It's wholesome, fun, and teaches kids important life lessons. The animation is top-notch, the voice acting is fantastic, and the stories are always engaging. If you're looking for a show that your kids will love and that you can feel good about, I can't recommend Paw Patrol enough!

feyipuk18 April 2015As the theme tune says: Whenever there's a problem 'round Adventure Bay, Ryder and his team of pups will come and save the day. A small town, on the coast, has a squad of trained canine emergency operatives ready to bark into action at a moments notice to deal with all types of issues that befall a handful of residents who regularly get into trouble, and like the Thunderbirds, they have the hardware to deal with issues on land, sea and air. Full of colourful outfits - each dog wears a different colour uniform - interesting gadgets - their dog houses turn into their trucks (and a helicopter), and they have back packs that help them to do their jobs - and catchphrases that stick in your head ("Green means Go", "Rubble on the Double", "Chase is on the Case"), it's very watchable, has humour - such as a clumsy Dalmation and a sniffer dog who's allergic to feathers - with an obvious message about social responsibility and cooperation.

ruduffy17 May 2022Well, comparatively. Dramatic decline in post-TV behaviour for our 4 year old who is normally pretty chill. Also dislike the gender representation with the only female pup being pink (spew). It seems like it's been made only to sell crappy plastic merchandise. I did a bit of "research" on the toilet about this show, and it seems that a lot of people have noticed the effect on their children.

Most of the missions that need to be solved could be done in 5 seconds with Skye and her helicopter but I am assuming since shes a female and this show lacks female characters. The villagers are idiots and who would go to a 11 year old for help anyways? These dogs are examples of how slavery works. Alex I wonder where his parents are? The Mayors are both dimwits, this show I think is suppose to make fun of liberatarians lol. But this show lacks education or female characters I know with so many cartoons out there this one gets alot of good reviews but I think there is a billion better cartoons out there.

dewijim16 April 2020First off, these shows are so repetitive you know how every one of them will go before they even begin. This doesn't seem to bother the kids though. The biggest problem I see with this show an all the copycat shows like it is that there are no consequences for any of the wrong doings by the show's protagonist which is nearly always the mayor of a neighboring town.
What children can learn from this show? 1. How to help others. 2. How you won't be held accountable for your bad actions. -

And Most Of The Episodes (Especially In The Earlier Seasons) Have This Almost Magical Feel To Them! Where The Characters Are Very Nice And Kind, But Never To The Point Where It Becomes Annoying. The Only Real Thing I Can Call Close To A Gripe With The Show Is, As The Series Went On, There Became A Little Bit Too Many Episodes Realting To The Shows Villan Mayor humdinger. And I Guess Seeing Merchandise For It Everywhere Is A Little Considering. But Other Than Those Very Minor Nitpicks, The Show Is Awesome! Sure It's Not For Everyone. But For Me, This Truly Is A 10/10!
