MobLand is an essential watch for crime thriller and drama fans in 2025. It's a masterclass in storytelling that rewards patience, sharp observation, and deep emotional investment. Every aspect of the series feels deliberate and earned.

The violence is bloody and brutal, but used sparingly - only when the narrative demands it, giving each act of aggression a raw and meaningful weight.

Mafia life is depicted with chilling authenticity, diving deep into the political, psychological, and personal dynamics of the underworld. There's no glamorization - only a stark, unfiltered reveal of its realities.

Action scenes are rare but unforgettable, striking with an explosive intensity that lingers long after.

Every episode ends with a punch to the gut, leaving you desperate to dive into the next chapter.

Classic Guy Ritchie, thick conversations, escalation, nice character building. I haven't yet reached the climax but call me biased this is bussin. I already vibe with the one and only Tom Hardy. Classic London scenery, you 100% feel there and somehow feels like it is in the Gentlemen's universe. Amazing story teller that guy and great narrative optics. You see almost irrelevant characters unravel in the series and love that it is a series and not a movie. At this point I am done, I just need to meet the minimum characters in order to publish this review. You know I love you all cinematics and if you have any movies in this spectrum please feel free to send them over my way.

The casting and acting is excellent from the top cast members to the minor "spear carriers." Locations and filming are also excellent.

Brosnan can play menacing with just his eyes and a slight shift in body language. But can his Conrad maintain control over the family and organization?

Mirren is developing Maeve as more than a bit unhinged and a danger to everyone. Her performance is a bit over the top. How will Mirren sustain this over 10 episodes without becoming a parody?

Tom Hardy, as always, is excellent with a minimalist acting style. His character is very conflicted and very like "Ray Donovan." Can Hardy make Harry unique and distinguish him from Donovan as a crime family fixer?

Brosnan and Mirren have been criticized for their accents, but a Kerry politician has come forward saying he was probably the inspiration for Brosnan's Kerry accent. Listening to him in a floor speech made me more forgiving of Brosnan's take on "Kerry." Search YouTube for "Minister Michael Healy-Rae - speech from 1 April 2025"

The plotting through episode 5 has slowly added multiple threads that have great possibilities but will they all have a pay off?

Who is "the rat" in the Harrigan family - there are so many possibilities.

Who is Eddie's father - there seems to be three candidates and Conrad maybe one of them. If that's true, how will Maeve react?

Who is the American and what is his connection to Harry?

What about that Frenchman and Bella's father?

Was Bella molested by her father - is that why she left home at 15 and is filled with rage? How did she end up with Conrad at 20 or 21? What is her back story?

Will Maeve really destroy Conrad and Kevin to elevate that "little toe rag" Eddie?

Will Maeve undermine Harry and risk the family?

Will Harry stay loyal to Conrad and Kevin? What can he do to minimize Maeve's interference?

Will the former prison guard live through episode 6 now that Kevin knows where he is?

How will Richie take revenge? So many possibilities. Does he have international connections other than "the Mexicans?" Or perhaps connections in the police?

How will the showrunners tie up all the lose ends by episode 10? They've been moving very slowing. Perhaps too slowly?

Who of the main characters will survive? Will there be a season 2?

What an amazing series so far.

I am quite a fan of Guy Ritchie, i'm also quite a fan of Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan and now Tom Hardy also.

Mirren plays a suitably demented matriarch of the crime family, led by a psychopath husband Brosnan, but the real star of this violent offering is Tom Hardy, who I have never really seen of before now, but I am now a fan of his also. Wow, I love dark and gritty offerings and this has it served up like a banquet!

It really is a no brainer success with such a stellar cast and talented writer and director, do yourself a favour if you haven't already done so.

Very high production values with excellent camera work and writing. The cast is perfect, each role, from lead to supporting is perfect, they reek of experience and dedication, in particular Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan are superb.

Tom Hardy brings his full heavy physical acting style to this show, it suits the character, he just look menacing, you know he means business, so the viewer just falls into the story. Brosnan also has that technique of communicating through a glance or stare, at times looking totally psychopathic, the next moment suave.

All together each episode gets devoured as you watch in fascination the in & outs and relationships within this violent crime gang.

You know it's good when by Ep 4 of S1, with 6 more episodes to go, you are worrying that there may not be a second series.
