  • I was expecting a totally PG series, considering that Victoria Justice is involved. However, this is a completely different role for her. Justice has shed her good-girl image in this new series and in all honestly it's pretty impressive. With a collection of bad-ass digs and dark lipstick, Justice takes on a darker role than her previous ones.

Sure, the show doesn't have much of a star-studded cast and doesn't showcase any incredible acting, but then again one of MTV's most popular shows "Awkward." started off the same way.

In my opinion, I would give this show a chance. It may seem like the typical cliché teen drama that Hollywood seems to dish out so often nowadays, but there's something else that has yet to be seen. I believe there's potential in this series; there's definitely somewhat of a uniqueness since it revolves so much around modern technology and pop culture. Plus, the show has so many interesting story lines within one episode and there are so many plot twists that will leave you sitting on the edge of your couch.. literally.

So I don't know about anyone else, but I will be sticking with the show and seeing where it goes from here.

I don't know if the show will have a very thick plot or very thin, i think it has potential but there is something missing maybe the way the characters are interpreted, the way they look or rather the chemistry between the characters is lacking. The costume designer could possibly make huge improvements on certain things like they way the cops look, they just look way too casual and incredibly surreal. Also the music is slightly distracting at times probably because it's a couple of DB higher than it should be, making the dialogue sound way to clean and clear to notice that's not real.

But all in all i think the idea is great and the shots, editing and especially the compositing keep the show appealing and fluent. I really hope the script will not falter as more episodes are released. The hook in the pilot was astoundingly good.

Great show if you're into crime/hacking thrillers

After hearing about this TV show through IMDb's similar suggestion on what I watch.

Without watching the trailer was good since it was like I was thrown into the deep end. I would recommend against watching the trailer And have a read through the plot and looking at the shows title picture.

The main key things that made me want to watch this is due to serial killer and hacking. Since just last night I watched 'Open windows', which i did do a review on.

My reaction to the first episode is slow, at first i thought that the group that was with Sara (Lindy's sister) I though they were the hackers but since Lindy said I use to hang out with them, proves some suspicion.

It is good how they was a backstory with 3 year later I believe it was. Another way it could of been introduced was as a dream that Lindy has re-living the experience.

I would recommend this series, and I am looking forward to watching the rest of the show.

Another thing to add is that there are stereotypes such as a IT help-desk 'George' with the size of him. I know this may sound rude but I have seen this stereotype is lots of TV shows and films.

Victoria Justice plays the main character Lindy, I have seen her on shows on Nickelodeon. She fits the role very well.

The Plot of a serial killer using a dating apps, seems very possible for it to be something that someone, somewhere is doing.

This show is beginning to remind me of 'The Mentalist' since 'Patrick Jane' used the police to track down 'Red John' and killed him.

If you enjoyed watching the mentalist, then this show might be down your alley.

Anyways, I have enjoyed the first episode, I thought that the pilot was gonna be an hour since when it was at 28 minutes, I though that 45 minutes had passed.

I do recommend this show to people that enjoy crime and technology based shows.
  • I was hooked from the very beginning and am deeply saddened that the show didn't continue! Just as I was bragging to my colleagues and family about this awesome show I found and couldn't wait to get home to watch, it ended. I thought this show would kick off and go as far as Pretty Little Liars did, including the largely supportive fan base.
  • Lindy Sampson (Victoria Justice) is a young New York hacker who is haunted by her sister Sara's abduction. Her roommate Sophia gets her to go online dating on Flirtual as Eye Candy. Soon, she's stalked by a possible serial killer. She is on parole and helped by coworker George Reyes. She is recruited into NYPD Cyber Crimes Unit to hunt down this killer, solve other crimes and find her sister.

Victoria Justice is a compelling actress but she's alone in a second rate computer hacker police drama. Most of the guys are model-hot but relatively shallow shells. They are the real eye candy. They are sugar for the eyes and empty calories for the brain. The friends characters have a few more interesting possibilities but never really fully realized. I like the mystery of her sister but that gets muddled and confused. I like less with the serial killer and how that story developed. The procedural part is a mix bag. I would laugh at this show except I've seen CSI Cyber. Doing a hacker centric TV show is not an easy thing without going ridiculous and cheesy. However the big party thrown by the media mogul in episode 5 is really silly.

Fast paced, kept me on my toes, biting my finger nails, screaming at the TV would be an accurate description of what I felt watching Eye Candy. Wasn't expecting much to be honest Victoria is a former Nickelodeon star and MTV is the host channel.

In one episode illegal hacking, two kidnappings and three murders and this all would seem a bit much if it weren't done correctly and acted out properly and it definitely was. Was more than impressed with the acting than anything else to be honest.

I was pleasantly surprised and more than impressed with just one episode! Can't wait for more and I hope the writers can keep this up because this show is definitely going to be a rising star!

The show is pretty basic,The main character tries online dating and then gets the attention of a killer. The killer starts stalking the main character while going on a killing spree. The acting is average all around. Stupid plot twists like a character getting kidnapped in front of a drive through full of cars. Uninteresting characters and none of the actors having any presence on screen. I can't see this show having a second season with such a simple story. It could improve as a show but this first episode is nothing more then average. Guess we will wait and see if the series improves though I seriously doubt it. Not great 6/10

Absolutely adored this! Such a great show, and I loved how they built the storyline and characters up so it could literally have been anyone of them who was the killer. Had me hooked from the first episode!

I watched this initially because Victoria Justice ( Who Plays Lindy) was in this, growing up watching teen shows she had been in, it was great to see her in something more mature and serious. And all in all she played the part really well.

Great Soundtrack in this show too, very disappointed MTV wont be renewing for a new season though, especially with the cliff hanger end. Thats the only fault I had with this show, the ending could have lead to another season and essentially a completely different story. Surprised they didn't do that if i am honest.

I first said it on my pilot review Eye Candy has great potential, the premise and prologue were really good but the show kind of sucked. The pilot was one of the worst I've seen this year. The mediocre writing, and acting was painful to watch but I persevered because there was room for improvement. By episode 2 my hope stayed intact even though the show suffered the same problems. The amateur writing and the cheesy teenage aspect of 20 something characters -_- ", but the show got a little more interesting. That's when the mystery really kicked in and they introduced a possible suspect - the one taking pictures in the precinct. It peaked my interest...let's not exaggerate, it got me interested because I never suspected him. It never really changed my idea of who the killer was and turns out I was right.

Regardless, Eye Candy slowly but surely improved, but just a little bit. They tried to get us wondering who the killer is and as far as I'm concerned, it didn't work. They gave too many characters suspicious scenes or comments in the hopes of throw us off the trailer but it was so poorly done that it was a bit annoying. The show is kind of a guilty pleasure show. It's kind of bad but has enough mystery and drama to keep you coming back. It's a good pallet cleanser show before watching a really good show.

On a side note, the amateur writing gives me hope though, because if these writers can write for a TV Show so can I. @wornoutspines
  • I thought it was a good concept for a crime drama - serial killer meets stalker who hunts on a social media dating platform. Not too bad at all. They don't spare the gruesome crime scenes.

BUT the scenarios of having a member of the public (Victoria Justice) go bust down doors with the cops, work on a case, talk with suspects, etc. That really irritates me - that the show couldn't follow the protocols of the law, to make it as real as possible. She even calls the shots and makes the decisions in the dept.

Too ridiculous and far fetched for reality. If they only managed to find an angle for a story to tie all that in, and at least follow all the protocol and procedure of law enforcement, i would easily double my rating of this series.
  • Just for start a new year, Eye Candy gives us an incredible action, drama, horror and love just in the pilot. Victoria Justice's portrays Lindy, a hacker who is involved to solve her sister kidnap. Although she's going to face some evil threat by the way. MTV has choose right. Since mid-2014 when the show was picked up, fans showed really great support to the show and for Justice who has a huge fan base and that's really helped up. This one-hour pilot take us to understand the begging of the facts and what is going for us in the future. With all technology on the screen, with some App uses and music hints. It all reminded me 'Watch Dogs' and that's a great point for MTV who is going to innovate with this brand new crime drama show Eye Candy is a good shot and has a good plot. I'm really going to catch all episodes. I think this is the best MTV Drama we've all seen.

When i first heard of this show i was pretty unsure of how this show would be with victoria justice as the main character and all but when i did a little digging i actually started to like the concept of the show. I watched the pilot and i have to say most of the time i was rolling my eyes then jumping with joy. First of all i have to say (like i said before) the concept of the show had me hooked (hacker girl gets stalked by a serial killer from a hot or not/tinder wanna be app) the suspense is pretty good, but predictable but i liked the show for the most part. So the cons: the reason i gave this 7 stars is because of way they sex up EVERY character. Even the characters who are part of the NYPD in the show look like they should really be modeling clothing instead of fighting crime in Brooklyn. And the show had a lot of plot holes which added to the many questions i had after the first episode. All in all this is not my favorite but not least favorite show versus other MTV made TV shows.
  • the show is trying too hard to be hip and sell music at the same time. Every time they play a song the artist name and song comes up on the screen, which to me scream we trying to sell you these artists.

I also thought Hackers were suppose to be smart, yet this girl can't tell that someone had hacked her computer and turned on her web cam. The idea is good, someone using a dating app/page for serial killing. Not very original perhaps but not bad.

The execution is however very bad.

    They use too many clichés.

1 All cops you meet in the pilot looks like models. Check

2 The Cop investigating the main character has an affair with her.Check

3 She has at least one gay friend. Check

4 Serial killer is targeting her through her close friends. Check

*************Warning spoiler****************Warning spoiler************* That scene was so dumb I almost started laughing. They're in a line at the drive in,and her sister has to go to the bathroom, while the driver moves on to the pickup line.

But when her sister gets back she rather stay outside in the pouring rain waiting for the car to come through, even though there are 4cars ahead of her ride. I might have understood the decision, if they had been arguing but they didn't.

And all of a sudden out of nowhere a van comes along and park across the line of cars, and snatch the waiting girl. Nobody reacts, and all of a sudden the cars in front of our main heroine are apparently turning out to be empty. Which is strange considering its a drive through, and they are at the pickup line.

And there seem to be no people at the drive in either. And her car is parked in such a way that she can't open her doors, which gives the kidnapper more time to get away.

The pilot was good but there are small things i didn't like in the story, it is good for a first episode but still they have to work hard for a better action scenes.like the kidnapping scene it was not good at all!! the rest is good enough and the last scene when *BEN* has been killed on the roof is really good and made me sad. i did not expect that to happen in the pilot ! but still my review about this show is not final, i will have to see another two or maybe three episodes to decide do i continue watching the show or not.

I absolutely love this show, having seen the first four episodes I can already tell just how good a series this will be. I was hooked halfway through the pilot episode. I love Victoria Justice (Lindy), she is one of my favorite actresses and I have seen a good 95% of the movies and TV shows she has been in. Eye Candy is thrilling to watch, you don't know what is coming next and it keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen and who is next, who is the killer and who is safe. It's a certain thing to say that for me, I hope Eye Candy is continued and renewed for a 2nd, 3rd and even 4th season. Great job and keep up the great work!

So far out of the realm of reality. If you are a mature intelligent adult this one is not for you. EVERYONE in is gorgeous , even the guys LOL. So many holes in the script tho and so far from believable. Super cheesy lines and situations. Eye candy is a good name tho, cuz it's just fluff to look at, no real depth or believable police work. I tried but I could just barely get thru the first one. It's more like an MTV soap opera not really a serious crime drama. The serial killer angle is just a back ground for drippy love situations between beautiful gorgeous people. A little less clothing and it would be late nite TnA.

Some of the acting was pretty good tho. The actors just had nothing really to work with

I love the show! So scary and Victoria Justice is so fantastic! I want to see more and what happens. Does she find her sister. Is her and Jake getting closer - but what about Tommy? I'ts one of my favorite shows right now!

I live in Denmak and I really hope that I one day in the future can buy the DVD. And I really hope for more seasons! And I found out that one of the producers from MTV's TV-show Teen Wolf is behind Eya Candy - that I really love, because that show is also my favorite. So just keep doing what you are doing - it's amazing!

Oh and I can't forget the music choices fore the episodes, it's so good!
  • Horrible writing, clichéd situations, endless stereotypes and completely devoid of suspense. Has about as many thrills as a Archie comic. Looks likes they plan to make it into a cheap PG-rated rip-off of Saw. Doesn't even give one any unintended laughs - it's not so bad it's good, it's just really, really bad.

Victoria Justice has never been challenged as an actor in any of her previous tween and teen-friendly outings, so at least watching this answers the question, "Can she act?" Sadly, the answer is no.

The only thing that might save the show is if they make her an undercover bikini model for the rest of the season, and focus 2/3d's to 3/4's of each episode on her appearing in photo shoots. She's a lovely young lady, but even that probably wouldn't save this pedestrian, predictable, emotionally empty, thrill-less thriller.
  • Eye Candy is both unique and intriguing. I thoroughly enjoyed the pilot episode and I cannot wait to see what happens next. Even though I am a Victoria Justice fan, it does not affect the way I feel about the show. This show is great for a vast range of reasons. The use of a cyber serial killer is a well thought out, original idea and the actors that portrayed the characters execute their roles with absolute perfection. Victoria has matured so much as an actress and I am very glad that she has landed a pivotal role in such a promising new TV series. Ever since her earlier days in Zoey 101 and Victorious, I knew that she would become a fantastic actress and big star.

Overall I give the show 9 out of 10 stars. An excellent start to the new year!

I do stand by the ten I've rated the show. My daughter (18 yr old) and I are watching this together. I am impressed by it so far, only being two episodes in. I'm a fan of this genre and so far, so good.

Trying to figure out who is who, what is what, is intriguing to me. The very first episode went so fast and so much happened, I kinda had to go back and watch some things again but now, I'm totally up to speed.

Killing Ben was the worst. IMO, it happened too soon but I suppose it was needed at that point. I'm excited to watch the rest of this season and am hopeful for a second one. I think the casting is right; the characters seem real. With one exception: Connor. I don't know what it is about him but he seems dull and life less whereas I think he should be loud and rambunctious. Maybe that will come in time.

If you are able to watch each episode, from the beginning, I'll say it's definitely worth watching this series. To be corny....two thumbs up from me :)

Time and time again mtv proves its diligence in crafting content that resonates highly with young people(late teens - early 20's), from teen wolf to happyland the mtv keeps hitting the nail on the head when it comes to producing or choosing content that any or at the very least most young people will enjoy.

That being said, if you don't fall under this bracket their may not be much here for you. The premise, writing and delivery is adequate at best. If your a TV vet that has seen beyond 21 century programming, your probably not gonna be blown away. This ain't hbo nor is it a master piece of any sort.

Now that I gave the bad I can give you some of the good.

The reason I gave it the score I did is because the show knows what it is and doesn't try to hard to be something its not. Its fun, features a lot of current trends, current fashion, music, lifestyle.etc Like I said earlier if your a young adult your gonna have a lot of fun watching this.

But at the same time, the show doesn't shy away from some really meaningful issues, such as narcissism and vanity. As a matter of fact the antagonist(who is also very mysterious, villainous and unpredictable), is not your average everyday narcissist.

    _____minor spoilers____________

Hes a serial killer, in search of perfection more specifically a perfect woman. Using the shows version of tinder to do so. But he doesn't murder pretty people, as you would except, but instead murders those that appear to be pretty in their online pictures but are actually flawed and imperfect in person. These would be his conventional victims. How ever he doesn't shy away from killing others that may get in the way of what he wants.

Namely Victoria Justice's character, the shows villain sees her as the epitome of physical perfection and his entire agenda centers around trying to make her fall for him somehow.

Without giving away to much, this issue deeply excites me, vanity is a huge issue facing modern men and women, more so then ever with the advent of the digital age and this show centers around exploring this issue and perhaps reaching some sort of discernible conclusion.

I only hope the writers don't shy away from exploring this path fully.

interesting plot, bad scripts... bad acting... bad directing... looks like spent little money on hiring professionals...

there is a serial killer (who is a also brilliant hacker) and world's best hacker is involved!

a girl videos her death using a camera and it uploads to the cloud instantly without wi-fi or cell reception! its just silly... she records her last words explaining how their 'loser' friend gave meaning to her life... and Lindy gets her hands on the audio and uses that to save the 'loser' friend from committing suicide!!

in the latest episode they mention that hackers girl friend hang her self in the cell using shoe laces!!! muhahahah

i can go on but i guess this is enough for you to judge that if you want to waste ur time on this loser TV series or not!

I love love this new show the characters are great the dynamics between almost all of the characters is very compelling. The plot and script is surprisingly well written I'm impressed with MTV coming out with such a scary, fun, sexy and twisted show!! The acting in this show is amazing I still cannot believe it's on MTV they made a great decision picking up this script! Victoria Justice does a spectacular job playing hacker Lindy Sampson I appreciate her extreme focus and her sassy do "gooder" attitude it really pulls the audiences heart strings and attention! Over all I love this new season and I would really like to see more shows like this in the future! The suspense is addicting as well as all the love triangles! I'm looking forward to season 2 coming out!

The previews actually looked pretty interesting then I saw it was going to be on MTV and though well this isn't there type of typical series but OK... Well as I'm watching I thought to myself OK this is the typical kind of low budget MTV show, and not saying that in a bad way but not something you'd see on another network like fox or the others. What I thought was a big negative is I was watching the first show but it was like they were trying to throw in three shows into one. Things escalated pretty fast in some scenes and I'm thinking this is supposed to be a series so why are they fast forwarding through things. For example her former boyfriend/cop and her were distant and she wanted nothing to do with him anymore, then before you know it there having sex on the roof. He seemed to be a main character and thought he'd be staying around for the full season... well he dies. Again things just started moving around way too fast and could of been saved for another show.
