    Warning: Spoilers
"Spinners" is an American 13-minute live action short film from 2014, so this one is almost five years old now, and it was written and directed by Erik L. Barnes. The photo here could let one think that it is a black-and-white movie, but not at all. On the contrary, the lights and camera angles at the sun shining down strongly at the protagonist made it easy for me to feel the heat with them at times. Sadly, this visual aspect is the film's biggest strength. Stry-wise, it is only mediocre and the very showy and also admittedly pretty bold ending could not make me forget about the fact that it was just not an interesting film the 10 minutes before that. A bit of a shame. I am pretty sure without the inclusion of young New Yorkian actor Chalamet, this one would be pretty much forgotten and not seen by anybody really. But he alone cannot elevate the material enough either, he's probably not even giving the best performance from the cast here. So unless you are really a huge Chalamet fan, my suggestion is to skip the watch here. It was not as rewarding as I wanted it to be.
  • A film about loneliness who deserves a better end. Well cinematography. Good story. The right, too familiar atmosphere. And, sure, Timothee Chalamet. But something, real important, is missing. You do not know what. But you feel its absence. So, a decent short film.
