  • Warning: Spoilers
Well Patrick and his former CBI cronies and friends are spread elsewhere two years after Red John killing. First Patrick is still a wanted man after killing Red John with his bare hands and is hiding out finding peace in South America.

Second Lisbon is a small town police chief. Rigsby and Van Pelt are starting their own thriving firm and a family that will lead to the actor and actress playing the couple, departure and that Cho is now working with the FBI and new regular, Rockmond Dunbar as FBI Supervisory agent, Dennis Abbott. As he seems a little more nicer despite the fact he was chasing Patrick all along to work with him. Would love to see how Cho came to the FBI and the backstory in the not too distant future.

Plus it did not come off as a surprise that Kim Fischer the love interest that was in South American on "vacation" and seeing Jane, only to also work for the FBI. Whether the love is real or not, the verdict is still out there.

It could come down to a FBI or Jane's terms in the end. On how the new arrangement will work. As well as possibly Jane choosing between Lisbon and Kim as everybody wants a Jisbon as they say!

Hopefully Abbott will loosen up as he has a hate with fans and that this episode kind of made me really kind of like him a bit as he came off a little bit more nicer despite the fact of fans hating him shutting down the FBI. And he will get to get Lisbon working for them as recognizing she and Jane work well together despite their differences but they are close to one another.

But also that the fans will have to accept both the new FBI cast and a new beginning. So far, so good!

After wrapping up Red John saga last episode with a very very disappointing conclusion, i must say this new post RJ story showed some potential (nice to see how Cho still got his pokerface and refused to give Jane a hug back). We saw different kind of Patrick compared in the last previous episodes. But one thing is not quite convincing, though, how did Patrick fell with Abbot's trick to work with the FBI? We all know that he's a smart man with extraordinary intelligence and everything. All in all, it was a decent episode, looking forward to see Jane-Lisbon-Fischer and how their relations develop in the future. For all i know, Fischer and Abott will be their new boss, plus Cho, Jane and Lisbon (that make 5 of them, given the departure of Rigsby and Van Pelt in the near future). But one thing for sure, they'll need to come up with a story that equals with RJ saga to tie the whole new story altogether. I'm not quite sure, though, i will give them a chance once more (and hoping they won't mess up again).
  • Two years after the death of Red John, Patrick Jane is living in a paradisaical island, where he knows the locals. Lisbon is working in a small town in Washington, where she is the chief of police. Patrick meets the tourist Kim Fischer and he spends the day with her, apparently having a crush on her. Meanwhile FBI Agent Dennis Abbott arrives in the island with two other agents and propose a work in the FBI as a consultant; in return, Patrick would have all his charges dropped. Patrick Jane includes his conditions and Abbots sign them. But when they arrive in the USA, Patrick learns Abbott's true intentions.

"My Blue Heaven" is an episode o "the Mentalist" to give sequel of Patrick Jane's work. The reason why she decides to return to the USA, leaving a paradisaical island, should be Lisbon, and not a tourist that he has had one-day contact only. My vote is eight.

    Title (Brazil): "My Blue Heaven"
  • Warning: Spoilers
Every TV show has its rise and fall. It's only natural that some schematics or characters just get played out. For Mentalist that happened about 4th/5th season but the Red John plot kept it going for a while. Sadly after terrible ending of that story I thought that this show is dead. Now I see that problem was not on the Simon Baker's or mentalist's character side. Turns out that the biggest problem of this show was that its plot and schematics were completely obsolete. Mentalist got really predictable and thus boring. That's exactly why I really got surprised when "My Blue Heaven" got the first laugh out of me. Now I don't really want to get too optimistic about this but that actually wasn't the only laugh from this episode. Furthermore the plot is back. I mean it's not great but after last few (let's not be cruel) episodes it feels like a resurrection. I really hope this is will be start of an ending this great show deserves.

Well! that was... predictive! When Kim was sitting there with Jane and having fun, I thought to myself: please don't be an agent! please don't be an agent! and seems my wish didn't come true, not just because in last season Red John sent a girl to seduce Jane and its kind of repetitive, also it is a very old trick in history of movies and TV shows. she came and tried to be kind but I couldn't believe it for a second, maybe it was because of the ominous air which was always around Jane toward women and we never expect he trust to any woman unless that woman is Teresa... But nevertheless I liked it when he put his hands behind his head and said: Don't worry Lisbon everything is under control!!!!... Finally he was our own Jane...Unpleasant, mysterious and stubborn like a child...I love it!

    Warning: Spoilers
Now that the CBI has been forever dismantled over Blake Association and Patrick hiding out in South America and Lisbon a PD chief in a small town in the Western USA with Cho now working for the FBI with Dennis Abott the new regular and Grace and Wayne owning their own successful security company.

Abbott will agree to drop the charges if Patrick works with and for him. And Patrick urges some conditions there which Abbot when back in the USA goes back on the promise. He seemed happy there despite being a wanted man.

And one of the agreements is to get Lisbon to work for the FBI which she kind of has a grudge on Abbott there as first scene there.

Kim Fisher is an undercover agent who poses as a woman to try to get Jane back as in the end, he is in custody until he says yes.
  • I know a lot more now than I did when this episode first aired in 2013. I decided to buy the complete series on DVD in 2022 because I became a fan very late - I believe it was during season 5 in 2012. Anyway, a couple things stand out. First, Jane does nothing to hide his identity, yet he is worried someone will track him down. Second, why wasn't Jane suspicious of Kim when he first met her or at least BEFORE confirming a dinner date with Kim because he already suspected Abbott was there looking for him. Come on, he meets an attractive American woman the same day Abbott lands on the island? Was Kim's role ONLY to protect Jane to ensure he makes it back to America? It looks like Jane lost all of his skills, which is weird. Making Jane appear to be clueless as to who Kim is and why she is with him is not clever, it is unrealistic. When they are at dinner, it begs (or screams) the question by Jane, "Are you with the FBI?" The writing in this series has been suspect from the beginning and I was hoping the last 1.5 seasons (post-Red John) would be better.
