  • The game is pretty good but way too repetitive like the first one and the cut scenes in some missions can be very annoying because its the same thing always at the missions when we need to help policeman or the fireman.still great to. Become spidey but a little bit boring after 2-3 hours.
  • I bought this game on ps4, and it really isn't worthy of a next gen console. It is a straight port from the old machines so the graphical quality is just not as good as it should be.

I have played every Spiderman game that Beenox has made, and this one continues to be an adequate game, the story pays plenty of fan service to readers of Spiderman comics, the side missions add a bit more content for longevity and the rewards for doing it make it worthwhile. Although the game is quite fun and is an OK addition to the Spiderman games, It fails to offer anything that has not been seen in the other games, and sometimes just feels like a re-hash of the previous game.

The voice acting is not brilliant, but it does the job. Stan Lee has a brilliant part in the game and deserves the respect that he gets for his creations. To summarize, its not bad, but its nothing special. I wouldn't rush out and buy it unless you are a massive Spiderman fan, or have finished your other games and need something to play.
  • I was only able to get maybe halfway through the game before disc wear prevented further play. (Thanks to Gamestop's complete lack of caring about games' conditions.)

However, as the gameplay barely varied, I felt like I'd seen all there is to see. And that's what is holding this game back. Most video games are incredibly repetitive, as that's the nature of the medium, but there is no imagination or innovation to push this game above average. For example, while the combat animations are nice to look at, the fighting /moveset itself offers no substantial variation. The upgrade system doesn't change the combat in any meaningful way like it does in Web of Spider-Man. The costumes don't change the combat like playing as different characters does in Shattered Dimensions. What is here in ASM 2 isn't awful. But nothing here is great. And adding to the blandness are some annoyances, the worst of which is having to constantly interrupt the main story to fight 'street' crimes. Spider-Man is quickly vilified and even violently engaged if these these crimes are ignored. And by the way, it is impossible to fight all the street crimes and help everyone in danger of burning alive in an apartment fire. So its automatically Spider-Man's fault when these things happen. Spider-Man is blamed. You're the bad guy. Just like that. So you can pursue the game's main storyline to finish this grind or pull your webs out by the roots combating thugs and fires in overwhelming plethora. Yes there is a balance to achieve here, but it's skewed far too much to ignoring the main storyline to pursue these activities that ultimately feel like busywork, rather than enjoyable distractions.

Everything in ASM 2 is done better in other Spider-Man games, leaving this game solidly behind those better titles. If you can grab this game for like $10 or less, go for it. But personally I didn't--and wouldn't--pay more than that. If I had paid full price for this on release, I'd have felt pretty ripped off. The lukewarm-to-negative reception this game received is understandable.

I had to return my copy to Gamestop since the copy they sent me was badly scratched and stopped working after just a few hours. (I kept only 2 out of 10 games from my order. Not good, Gamestop.) But I'm in no hurry to replace the copy I had. A PS3 /PS4 blu-ray copy would be nice since those disc surfaces are scratch-resistant, unlike Xbox 360's dumb proprietary DVDs. However, I wouldn't be able to transfer my save file from my Xbox 360 to those versions, obviously, and I really don't want to have to replay the first 1/2(?) of this game. A just-okay-not-great game. A game that's worth a single playthrough if you can find it for cheap. A game that's playable if you're a fan of Spider-Man. If you're not a fan, I'd definitely skip this one.

Pros: Web-slinging feels pretty good. Combat is pretty to look at.

    Cons: Everything else.
  • Same missions every time and poor ones... the open world is so short and non-entertaining...

This game came out in 2014 the same year as The Last of Us: Remastered, Farcry 4, and Alien: Isolation. Yet this game looks just as good as 2007's Spider-Man 3. Even its predecessor has better graphics and that came out two years prior. The game isn't just bad in the graphics department, the gameplay is repetitive, boring, and just overall bad. The NPC models for the criminals are the same as the last batch you fought and the only thing close to being good is the variety of suits but, it's hard to appreciate them with these disgusting ass graphics.
  • The game is bad like bad story, and THIS GAME DOES NOT RELATE TO THE FILM!!! This is why Benox is not good at making Spider-Man games like Trayac master Spider-Man 2 and yeah I know Spider-Man 3 is not good but it's better than this puke. The game is so bad that I went to Gamestop and gave it to them and get The Amazing Spider- Man the game. The game is boring so boring that I turn off the console and stop playing 'till I feel like it. If you want a good game if you got a Gamecube, PS2, or Xbox then get Spider-Man 2, if not have those console then go to whatever place that sell use stuff and get the PS2, Xbox, or Gamecube and get Spider-Man 2 and that's it.

    Awesome
Very fun game. Would recommend Marvel Spider-Man more but this game is still great. Skekskkdldkfkkfdwegefgsfehfsehfehafrykrw4kysrkeyykaererlgaldfdfglbsldfsldgfladgrareylaerylraehlzdbvkfsdhksrelyare,yrlyelyrealtylrhlrelzhltrzhlstr.
  • How do you know you messed up your Spider-Man game? When the LAST thing I want to do is wen swing. The animation is horred, the acting sucks, the controls okay when they work, and the camera with make you stick within an minute.

There are a lot of ideas here that would be out to better use in Marvel's Spider-Man on the PS4. Just play that instaad

I was super excited to play this, I only have an Xbox so I can't play the PS4-PS5 Spider Man games so I was excited to be able to swing around freely and have fun, well BOY WAS I WRONG. If you want to get this game to have fun swinging, save yourself. You can't swing for 5 minutes without losing hero credit. And when you lose hero credit you'll eventually gain "menace credit" and if you're known as a menace oscorp drones, turrets and gliders will go around nonstop shooting at you and random shields will appear at the top of buildings ready to cancel your swinging. No fun at all.
  • You know, ONE bad level in an otherwise okay game can usually be tolerated. Unfortunately, this was worse than just a "bad level." This was HIGHLY OFFENSIVE! If you don't want your children learning how to be rude and mean, then don't buy this game.

So I loved the first Spider-Man video game very much. It was very good and I didn't find it right at all that this sequel doesn't have the same thing as the first. So I'll tell you how the gameplay is quite good but other things I can't save Then thestory is really a meal watch out So if in the first it is complained about after the events of the film Instead this second film follows the sales of the film however it is not quite the same things as for example because in this video game Not Gwen the others say she is dead But when is happened is then something thatit never happened in the movie that spider-man is looking for Uncle Ban's killer But how have two years passed and they still haven't found No this is not good at all another positive thing I could say about this game and that Peter do show his face seen in the previous onegame didn't happen however another problem is the horrendous graphics But how is it possible something similar happens especially on the This game is available on the PS3 PS4 but it is impossible for games in this genre to have these graphics which are really bad Yet this was done in 2014 then onesomething that I really can't stand, they don't have the same movements when spider-man runs on the roofs. Yet in the first one that thing was really beautiful and instead in this sequel it's really ugly and I don't understand why you have to press two buttons to shoot cobwebs different forgo around and not only the battle between the bosses is not even beautiful because these are too simple to defeat them and then in this why Cannes appears in this film to provide assistance for this character Venons should have appeared first instead he is the last Boss to defeat who It's not in the filmthis video game is one of the worst spider-man video games What a shame because this one had some interested races But they wasted in this way and I'm not surprised that this game only received a negative score and for this reason they no longer make video games based on movieAfter the disaster of this one But I tell you that I liked the Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie quite a bit but I didn't like the game But the worst thing I remember now is when Goblin was bad if everyone didn't like Goblins of the film but that of the game is much worse because it is onejust a horrible disappointment and thank God the new marvel spider-man 2 game was a great sequel to conclude rating 4.

I've heard a lot of negative comments and bad reviews on this game but I think it's awesome!

Yes, the story is short. I liked this though because it never felt like it was being dragged on. The variety of Spidey costumes you unlock along the way are sick and the swinging around NYC in so much fun and very much improved from other Spidey games.

I also really enjoyed the combat despite being a bit repetitive. (However I feel as though combat is somewhat repetitive in all action/adventure games).

Even though the story is pretty short it contains numerous boss fights with good villains and there is a heap of things to do when the story is over. Hideouts, collecting comics, racing, taking photographs, saving civilians, bashing bad guys etc.

I really enjoyed this game overall. Graphics aren't peaking as many have mentioned but I found they were pretty crisp throughout gameplay and Spider-Man looks really good. Cut-scenes look more dodgy graphic-wise then the gameplay did! (Voice/mouthing syncing on characters is horrible!)

    9/10

This game is maybe one of the greatest Spider-Man games if not the best one.The story of the game is pretty much like the one from the second movie, with some minor adjustments, the combat as well the swinging is better than the ones from the first game(The Amazing Spider-Man 1) and you can also switch between Peter Parker and Spider-Man,not to mention that now we can see how Peter Parker looks because in the first game we didn't had the chance to see his face.Another great this about this game is that we can have a little chat with our enemies and friends,it's kinda like a telltale game when you ask people something and they answer you.By the way, this time not just that we can see how Peter Parker looks but we can also see his aunt and we also don't live anymore in Stan's apartment,we live in Aunt May's house, the one form the movie(The Amazing Spider- Man 2).The bad thing about this game is that we won't see Gwen Stacy in this game at all and I don't know why because she is in the 2nd movie.Another great thing about the game is the fact that now we have more costumes to put on and each costume gives you something different like critical damage, critical hit, healing rate, damage bonus, etc.Oh,I forgot to tell you about the fact that we can go to a comic stand where you can unlock various figures, comic books, concept arts and you can play some challenge missions.
  • I really enjoyed this game and every time I play it it gets better and better it is just amazing play it and find out for your self
