  • Sometimes things take a turn some do not expect. And if that happens because of natural "disasters" ... well some would call that bad luck. Others may think they could have done more to avoid some damage that has been done. And then there are those who have their livelihoods depening on their own business, which might go down/under - no pun intended.

With Corona Virus some owners of Restaurants (if not almost everyone) can surely feel the anxiety and anguish, the main characters feel here. Even if the set of circumstances are quite different. And this adds a love note to it all - apart from family issues, social security, chasing ones dreams, trying to live your life ... you know the usual ... well more or less.

A fine enough drama, if the bigger cynic in you does not win out ...
  • I only watched this because my mother lives in Atlantic City. Total waste of time.
  • A Rising Tide is a heartwarming but not cheesy story about how if life tries to get you down it's worth it to try and get up again. This movie also subtly showcases how hard times can bring people together. In addition, I really liked the love story. Sam is not too pushy or macho and Sarah doesn't let him get away with unacceptable behavior. The acting and dialogue was also really good.
