I love the two Inside Out movies, they are among my favorite Pixar animated movies of all time and when I found out that there was a mini series about Riley's dreams, I knew that I was watching to it. Well, I just finished watching it and this was an excellent mini series as well as one of the best shows of 2024.
Positives for Dream Productions (2024): This mini series does what made the two Inside Out movies did so well which is exploring element of the human experience in a creative and unique way. For all the crap that I tend to give Disney lately, whenever they had an idea as brilliant as this one, they do it better than no one else. I also loved how the Dream Productions logo is the same as Paramount Pictures. The mini series uses the mockumentary style of The Office and that was cool to see. I really enjoyed a lot of the characters and the journeys they go on are awesome. And finally, this is one of those mini series that can be enjoyed with the entire family.
Overall, Dream Productions (2024) was a fantastic mini series and another hit from Pixar that I can see myself rewatching in the future and it serves as a great companion to the Inside Out movies.

Have just finished watching and Pixar have struck gold with the TV documentary style show depicting the stars and creators of our dreams. Genuinely funny and I was personally just as emotionally invested in this as I was during the famous beats in Toy Story 2 and Up. Funny, Uplifting. Genuinely worth making some popcorn and loosing a couple of hours in an evening. I sincerely hope that the creative team come back for more. My only and main criticism is that it is clearly a movie split into 4 parts. I want more. Someone get this show a second season! With the concept it could genuinely go on for years and remain this good.
Have you run out of shows while you wait for a new season of your favorite show, well Disney+ has this little hidden gem!
I really recommend it, it's not the same emotional roller-coaster as the films, but it's good and definitely worth the watch and I'm even a big Disney critic when it comes to alot of their newest releases.
People obviously have different tastes, that's also when it comes to Disney spin off shows, in my opinion this is worth a watch.
I am hoping for another season of this and I don't mind it being only a few episodes like this one, they could actually keep this up for a few seasons, market it alittle more and maybe have Riley grow up and having her dreams progress more, just an idea.

More of a mini-movie split into 4 parts than a mini-series, Dream Productions fits smoothly into the canon of the other two movies. The movie introduces us into some inner workings of the Dream studio. The humor and animation quality are top notch, and I continue to love the way the dreams themselves are presented.
The dream makers themselves are an interesting enough bunch, I'm especially fond of Xeni's off beat style
However, it is clear that the writer's didn't have quite the same ingenious spark that they did when writing for the Emotions. As a result, the climatic decision and emotional resolution lack some of that heft of the movies.
In particular it seemed that the main conflict between the dream maker's was resolved a little too cleanly, without our protagonist really learning a true lesson.
So in all, it is certainly not a bad little watch, but didn't wow me the way the two movies did.

In this mini series we meet the team behind Riley's dreams. The dreams are pretty much run like short films and unfortunately the main director (Paula Permission voiced by Paula Pell) still thinks that Riley is a kid who still remembers the dream that helped her give up her dummy when she was a baby so when Riley struggles with the big decision of whether or not to go to her first highschool dance Paula thinks it's best for Riley to take her unicorn toy. And as the dance gets closer and the dreams get more intense Paula struggles with nightmares and sleepwalking which makes the series intense. Will Paula be able to accept that Riley is growing up and help her get over this fear of going to the dance...well you'll have to watch the series to find out.
I also found the series a bit slow to start off with but by the 2nd episode I was laughing quite a bit especially at a part when Paula is talking to the audience whilst in a car and she lets her dog drive and all you can see in the background is them crashing into everything. Most of the story is told via Paula speaking to the camera which was enjoyable and funny.
The series is also set in between Inside Out 1 & 2 so it would be really good to see a 2nd series where we meet the more grown up emotions like anxiety, envy, etc. It would also be good to see a 2nd season because the 1st season is only 4 short episodes and I would love to see more of this world by watching a prequel as well as a sequel. So, if they do make a 2nd season I would happily watch it and I would also happily watch this season again as well.
