Started off in a promising way and actually quite enjoyed the first couple of episodes , then I lost it. The two leads spend their time being indestructible in a ridiculous fashion. Tiny female constantly killing tough guys in arm to arm combat. Every time the terrorists get them in their sights they let them go, as opposed to every other policeman they shoot on sight. We ended up shouting at the television to the terrorists, "Just shoot them" Then there are time wasting subplots going on with her druggy waster of a girlfriend. We ended up siding with terrorists in the end, got so fed up up with the whole thing. Just don't waste your time, it was so daft and frustrating to watch.

First of all, I am a big Sean harris fan.. He first caught my attention in the Borgia's HBO series some years back. He has a very particular style when he plays so-called bad Guys. It has been great watching his career advance. He is very sinister as the bad guy in this film, and adds his own credible spin and style on his villan The rest of the cast is sterling as well. The film suffers from some credibility issues in the relationships of the two main officers pursuing Harris' charecter. The rifles used in very long range shooting could never make those long shots...in a film with a lot of authentic details. The villan has killed a lot of government people who he believes were responsible for his lover and her two children. It is diabolical, even plausible up to a point. But the direction and script fall off rather sharply at the end. The end is out of sync with the rest of the film, weak. There is also a huge unresolved issue of the corporation CEO who funded behind the scenes the entire plot and who made a fortune from it, he is just left dangling and forgotten at the end. They could at least had a 30 second scene at the end where is being handcuffed. The film opens very strong and builds a suspense that keeps moving, but is very weak at the end. Good work by Sean Harris and look forward to seeing what he does next.
A seeming terrorist group takes over an embassy event. You are thinking "Die Hard." A woman, who later claims to "work in HR," fights back and kills two of the attackers. She is really good. She should have her own show. You are still thinking "Die Hard." The woman, and an Embassy bodyguard, successfully foil the initial attack. The attackers retreat through a hole in the swears just as the police crash through the front door. The police immediately notice our heroine, mainly because she is holding a weapon which was recently fired. So far, so good. Moments later, however, the camera picks up our heroine being treated by a medic, blanket around her. Somehow, in the mere blink of an eye, even though she was holding a weapon when the cavalry arrived, even though she holds no official position in law enforcement, she has already been cleared and released. Now you are thinking "WTF?" I am making this point to show the importance of subliminal cues in a fictional series. You are barely halfway into E01 of the series, and your brain is already screaming, "this makes no sense." And it doesn't. France has produced some incredible TV content (Spirale, Le Bureau) but this is not one of those. This is light, fluffy, fantasy stuff. You may like it. Or you may not. ((Designated "IMDb Top Reviewer." Please check out my list "167+ Nearly-Perfect Movies (with the occasional Anime or TV miniseries) you can/should see again and again (1932 to the present))

The British Embassy in Paris is holding a party. Jacob Pearce (Sean Harris) leads a well armed group to infiltrate the gather. Zara Taylor (Ritu Arya) is a MI6 operative. Vincent Taleb (Tewfik Jallab) is protecting the French Minister of Defense. Pearce led a Foreign Legion group in Afghanistan which was captured by the Taliban. He wants revenge for an unspecified conspiracy.
The "Has Fallen" franchise is not to be taken seriously. It is a franchise based on mindless action fun. Somebody is attacked. Something has fallen. It's not a hard concept or a home to smart writing. At least, this show is staying in that general area. It's not smartly written and there is action. It does abandon the concept of a short time period in the movies. The problem starts with the pile of cash. It is straight up Joker. It is non-realistic. That's the moment when I realized what this show is and what's its limitation. It's not to be taken seriously and it works to gin up tension whether it's deserved or not.

Most interesting to me is how easily people are convinced that the person exacting revenge is the terrorist...
he WAS the terrorist when he was 'on assignment' in someone else's country where he didn't belong...but then he's betrayed by his own country...(this is revealed right in the beginning so i'm not considering it a 'spoiler'). GROSSly betrayed...so then he seeks vengeance for that betrayal and is labeled a terrorist and everyone picks up on that, including the featured reviewer...how typical...and i've seen this time and time again...
America invades country after country and some of them come seeking revenge and are labeled 'terrorists'. On top of which, of course, they send their OWN young to these foreign countries not caring what happens to them(SO proven true by what kind of care/support they get when, no IF they get back to their own country...so nobles and serfs, still...and legitimized through terms like 'patriotism'...'keeping the world safe for democracy'. When all they're REALly doing is making certain people and industries wealthier...
i think the strength in characterization of the lead three characters is what carries the show and is worthy of the rating i gave it...AND...what Vincent does in the last episode, imo, further speaks to how he saw himself and what i said above...originally i gave it a 6, but just am coming back to add this and raise it to a 7...the show is typical. Generic. Predictable, with some interesting characters and the expected action sequences...one thing i will say in its favor is it, like so many other shows will do, never felt like it was spinning its wheels/stretching so that it could last over the 8 episodes.

If you want a serious and realistic series, then don't watch this.
This series is over the top, but so much fun to watch. I like the humour in it. I think it's better than the movies from which this is inspired from. There is no dull moments, there's always something going on.
It's well filmed and they know how to build great tension.
The personal relationships are clichés, but they are integral part of the storyline and don't feel forced.
As usual, Sean Harris is amazing as the bad guy.
I like the dynamics between Jalab and Arya and I hope they can be reunited in a 2nd season, or somethin else.

There was a time when European Cinema was for art Lovers Only because it just wasn't up 'to our standards'. Lol
Well , most of what I see out of Europe and that includes some great stuff from Turkey great great stuff from Germany and even better from France in the past 20 years is , far superior to so much of the schlock ground out in North America, with some notable exceptions.
There is enough action I think to satisfy the action folks some really okay acting for those who want some good acting.
The leads are believable not glamorous but except for some exceptional skills seem like real people.

...then the creator Howard Overman wants to write and produce his show and all goes downhill from there.
Dialogues are predictably awful
Scenes in Paris were made like the city has no cops no tourists no body living there...just like every time they start shooting nobody notice or what?
They send the two main characters to fight a full well-trained army of terrorists pretty much by themselves...
They're so many holes in this plot that the original idea - that is pretty good - becomes irrelevant to all the amateurish production..
On the only good side...some good fight that makes it OK to call it an action series.
That is probably the only season you'll get
BTW the same creator had another great idea (War of the Worlds remake) but it all went downhill the same way...this guy should really hire someone else to write the stories.
4.5/10.

Well what can I say?
Paris Has Fallen delivers a high-energy experience, blending fast-paced action with suspenseful scenes set against the iconic cityscape of Paris. The storyline pulls you into a gripping narrative with strong lead performances and plenty of unexpected twists that keep you engaged throughout. The cinematography captures the tension and grandeur of Paris under siege, enhancing the overall thrill. Fans of action thrillers and high-stakes drama will appreciate this series intensity and well-crafted scenes. A great addition to the 'Has Fallen' series!
If you're a film junkie like myself then you'll appreciate the time and effort that Howard Overman and everyone else put in to make this happen.
I enjoyed it. Not my place to say where it could have been improved. It is what it is.
Thank you.

I'll admit, I was very hesitant to dive into *Paris Has Fallen*. I've never been impressed with Gerard Butler movies. The first one was sort of okay, but the sequels were so bad they still hurt to think about. However, after catching a trailer for this series, I decided to give it a shot-and I'm really glad I did! This show departs from the movies in every way possible.
Without giving too much away, the plot centers around a villain targeting powerful figures in Paris, while the main character, Vincent, from the French intelligence agency, teams up with Zara, a British operative, to uncover the motive behind the terror.
The season comprises eight episodes, each running about 45 minutes. Right off the bat, I was intrigued. While 45 minutes can often mean slow-paced TV, this show makes every minute count, and I never found myself bored.
The action is reminiscent of shows like *24* and films in the *Jason Bourne* category. Expect thrilling shootouts in narrow apartment hallways, intense car chases through the streets of Paris, and plenty of hand-to-hand combat, all enhanced by clever camera work and appropriately tense music. The excitement had me glued to my seat, eager to see what happened next.
As for the acting, it's solid. Vincent plays the stoic male lead with a hint of heartbreak, while Zara is an adrenaline junkie who also has a complicated love life. I found that part to be one of the weaker aspects of the show-not because she's in a lesbian relationship, but because her love interest's issues are introduced and then dropped completely in the later episodes. Luckily, this doesn't take up too much screen time, so it was manageable.
The main villain was also portrayed well. He's a broken man driven by revenge, and his calm demeanor paired with Vincent's stoicism creates an interesting dynamic. He doesn't resort to anger or jokes; instead, he maintains a serious, unsettling presence throughout the series-it works.
Now, I do have a few criticisms. The main characters rack up a body count that's pretty impressive, and while it's an action show, it's hard to overlook how casually they disregard all the mayhem they create. I get it, though-shows can only spend so much time addressing the paperwork and investigations.
That said, the plot itself is mostly grounded and doesn't veer into absurdity. The characters make logical choices, which adds to the realism.
There are definitely more positives than negatives here. I would easily rate this the best action show of 2024, if not one of the best of the 2020s. I really hope it finds its audience and continues.
Overall, I'm giving *Paris Has Fallen* a strong **9/10**!

6 episodes in, so far I've enjoyed it quite much. Yet to understand the Has Fallen franchise link, other than the name, but overall levels above the bulk Netflix etc. Actions series of late. Recommend giving this one a chance.
Sorry, forgot this had to be an essay lenght...
Alright then. In the next couple of paragraphs I will provide some more thoughts of mine about this so far rather enjoyable spy action series currently streaming on Prime Vide, as that is what is required from me to have this review of mine posted on the Internet Movie Database.
Acting is solid enough for me, good stunt work.

It's a good plot and story line. I like the bad guys organisation and understand why he feels betrayed. Then we have to super agent with something like powers, never get shot or lose agains a wel organisatie soldiers terrorist. They always on the right spot and they can do everything. The woman beat big men with her something like fighting skills(pfff).
It's a good story but to super agent specially the woman that can beat all well trained men. Sad because the villain is good en de story but how they fight by them self two agent against an army, they like the French marv super soldiers. To disappointed.

"Paris Has Fallen" is a thrilling and action-packed TV series that brings something fresh and exciting to the genre. It's truly refreshing to see a strong female lead in a role that has traditionally been dominated by men, a dynamic that often feels old-fashioned and stale. The series shines even brighter by casting the talented British South Asian actress Ritu Arya, who delivers a phenomenal, fierce, and compelling performance that captivates from start to finish. Considering how many less impressive shows manage to secure higher ratings, it's surprising this standout series isn't rated even higher. It's not just entertaining but also a step forward in representation, making it a must-watch.

The bad guy is the only good actor. He is very good and is the only reason I watched the 8 episodes.
Other actors are amateurs The handsome and pretty super heroes cannot convince.
The French President role is a farce.
Digital explosions are not realistic too.
The plot is not realistic and naive.
Threatening to activate a nuclear explosion through a cellular network is childish naive.
Authorities would Simply shut down the cellular networks and the treat is GONE, 3 episodes early.
Obviously the producers had serious budget restrictions especially for the last 3 episodes and had to can everything as cheap and fast as possible.
