When a sabotaged experiment gives him super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive attempting to rebuild his life in Harlem and must soon confront his past and fight a battle for the heart of his city.
Soul and funk singer Sharon Jones was diagnosed with cancer in 2013, but went into remission after undergoing surgery and chemotherapy. She was quick to resume touring, but the cancer returned in 2015. Her appearance in Luke Cage: You Know My Steez (2016) would be her swan song during which time she was already dying of pancreatic cancer.
Misty Knight's robotic arm might allow her to grip objects (and people) with superhuman levels of strength. However, since nothing was done to reinforce her spine and the muscles of her back and legs, she could exert the types of force shown in the series.
The opening credits are a sequence of Harlem locations highlighted over a silhouetted Luke Cage's skin.
