    7/10!
I don't love the Lego series, this was an okay little mini film!
  • Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Maximum Overload (2013) is a movie I recently rewatched on Tubi for the first time in a long time. The storyline focuses on our friend, Loki, who is board and decides watching Earth from his perch would be a little more interesting if the world contained super villains. He invents a power called Maximum Overload and sends it to villains as they face various members of the Marvel Universe. That should spice up his viewing pleasures.

This movie is directed by Greg Richardson (Max Steel) and contains teh voices of Steve Blum (Cowboy Bebop), Troy Baker (Family Guy), J. K. Simmons (Spider-Man), Chi McBride (Gone in 60 Seconds) and Grey Griffin (Bumblebee).

The backdrops and depiction of the Marvel universe was awesome. Dock Ock, Venom and Hulk were excellent in this and it was fun watching Spider-Man versus Loki. I also loved the Stan Lee cameo. This is a very fun movie for being only 23 minutes. I would score this a solid 6-6.5/10 and recommend seeing it once.
  • This was my first Lego show and I wasn't expecting much so I was pleasantly surprised. This is the first time any of these characters were truly funny. I never liked Loki before but I love him in this series.

"Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Maximum Overload" is a really fitting title for this mini-series we got here. It was released back in 2013 and features many Marvel superheroes, actually a quantity where you could say indeed there is overload. It's 5 episodes in total, all around a running time of 4-5 minutes, which means you can watch the entire thing in under half an hour and one sitting. I must say that generally I am not a huge fan of Lego animation, but here I was pretty satisfied with the visual side. The characters were not only easy to identify, but there was decent love to detail overall in terms of character and landscape/setting animations. I had another problem with this one and this is about the plots we got here. It's basically Overlo(a)ki vs. Spider-Man, Iron Man and eventually the entire gang. The episode I liked the most was episode 2 of 5, not because it was particularly good, but because it was slightly memorable in its better moments. Episode 1 was tolerable as well, but as a whole disappointing just like episodes 3 to 5 I guess. The disalogue writing was standard Marvel stuff. You could say this is a compliment, but I'd say it's rather the opposite. Especially the comedy writing and quick funny lines (a given for Spidey and Iron Man especially) left me very unimpressed. Main antagonists like The Mandarin felt rushed and wasted at times and the "rushed" applies to the entire thing in fact. The big highlight with how they are getting all the supervillains in at once is just as disappointing as quickly as the action moves to Loki's headquarter, with the equally rushed-in appearance of Thor obviously. So yeah, what can i say about this one. If you love Marvel and Lego animation style (like the many Star Wars films out there), then maybe go check this one out. But if convincing story-telling is more important to you than action and "funny" one-liners, then skip this one here. It's got nothing quality-wise on the recent epic Avengers battle vs. Thanos for example, especially not in the story department. So a filler at best to briedge the months until the next Marvel movie gets released. I give this project here a thumbs-down. Aside from the animation I was very unimpressed. See something else instead.

I never thought i'd write a review about a Lego-animated serie, but here I am.

Believe me, this is actually quite funny. It has actually clever easter eggs to both the MCU movies and the comics, some fun gags and jokes for kids and adults, lots of great Marvel characters, a Wilheim and Stan 'the Man' Lee!

Voice acting, animation and directing were al alright, nothing spectacular.

Fun for kids, fun for Marvel fans.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Maximum Overload I watch on Netflix mostly out of curiously.

This one pleases me a lot for the simple fact it was pure fun and you can just appreciate if you're a Lego fan and Marvel Fan it is a winner for everyone

The plot centers around Loki (voiced by Troy Baker) begins to empowered super villains of Earth starting with Doctor Octopus (Voiced by Tom Kenny), then Venom (Voiced by Dee Bradley Baker) as he is trying to put a stop to Spider-Man (Voiced by Drake Bell)

Then we see Iron Man (Voiced by Adrian Pasdar) and Pepper Potts (Voiced by Grey DeLisle) as Mandarin (Voiced by Barry Dennen) confronts them

Also we get to see Stan Lee make special appearance as Hot Dog Vendor Plus we also get to hear: Laura Bailey as Black Widow Steven Blum as Wolverine Greg Cipes as Iron Fist Robin Atkin Downes as Abomination Tony Matthews as Jogger Chi McBride as Nick Fury, Red Skull Adrian Pasdar as Iron Man Bumper Robinson as Falcon, S.H.I.E.L.D. Sentry J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson Roger Craig Smith as Captain America Fred Tatasciore as Hulk, S.H.I.E.L.D. Sentry Travis Willingham as Thor

That is a pretty strong cast and they each made this great to watch with their voice over performances they just gave us the feel of they were there to make a fun short film or series whichever you wish

But they each gave a top notch performance and the jokes that were made just gives you some laughs plus this film breaks the fourth wall which is also good work to make the story fun

Also the animation is pretty amazing and one of the best Lego films I have seen with great attention to detail the effects are pretty good as well it just nice that they took the time to make the animation work and it's better when you watch it in High Definition to better enjoy the attention of the art work

It just a good film that I think the family would enjoy and fans of Lego and Marvel

I give Lego Marvel Super Heroes Maximum Overload an 10 out of 10
