Excavation

Excavation (Oct 10, 2024) -- This was both a well-written and well-acted episode. However, I do wish some of these storylines could be presented more slowly at an enjoyable, normal, dramatic pace. Most of this episode's plot evolved at an '80s music video speed. At this point, SVU might be better off doing four to six 90-minute long episodes or movies (akin to the style of the UK series VERA) per year rather than rushing so. It's a police procedural and a courtroom drama - not a highly detailed but rushed rollercoaster ride. This is a 9/10 review, so I'm in no way saying it's a bad episode. It's just that too many of SVU's episodes are rushed; and the writing and acting are too good for that. They deserve better.
