Gru meets his long-lost charming, cheerful, and more successful twin brother Dru who wants to team up with him for one last criminal heist.
This is the first Illumination Entertainment film to be produced in a 2.39:1 widescreen aspect ratio; all of that company's previous films before this one, plus the previous Despicable Me films, were produced in the taller 1.85:1 aspect ratio.

Bratt is right handed and his keytar is also right-handed. Gru is left-handed, and when he steals the keytar at the end of the movie it is left-handed.
The opening title is orange on the white background. The "E" in "ME" Spins into a "3" making into the title "DESPICABLE M3".
