I have watched Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, many horror movies, and a lot of true crime shows, but never have I encountered such a scary, threatening, and handsome criminal mastermind. To anyone who hasn't watched it: You absolutely should!
SPOILER WARNING!
Billy Bangmouth seems like a heartless, cold, cruel bad boy, but after Episode 1, the true three-dimensionality of the character slowly starts to unfold. We get to meet his daughter and her fiancé, who also happens to be the police officer who put Bangmouth in prison. The encounter between the two in Episode 3 (which is the best one so far) was truly nerve-wracking. I knew they would meet, and I knew it wouldn't end well. Rob Carter's acting in this scene was truly Oscar-worthy-the regret in his eyes was unlike anything I've ever seen before.
Another phenomenal scene was the one where Michael (Justin Edwards) talked to his son (Harrison Dadswell) after he had a fight with his mother, who cheated on him with Bangmouth. The conversation about how Michael built the town and what it took made me reflect on everything I take for granted, as well as the people I dislike. It was a deeply inspirational moment that I will remember until my last breath.
I'm truly excited for future episodes and to see how the characters of Billy Bangmouth and Michael develop. The cinematography was impressive in some parts, and the show had its funny moments. Would recommend!
