I've given this an 8 for the simple reason that one person managed to come up with all of this on his own. Because I have trouble meeting people that are open minded enough to even entertain the idea that maybe the Nazis weren't evil after all... Let alone finding someone in the media industry to help make this documentary as great as the ones that are funded by mainstream, edited, directed and produced with significant funding. So as I read through 'all' the negative reviews and realised that most of them were written by brain washed idiots who probably didn't watch the whole thing or do research to fact check it. I decided it was worth a watch, however I knew right from the start that I would have to stay open minded as all views on history are never entirely factual and all of them are a form of propaganda for one side or the other. Which made laugh when I read some of the reviews that stated this was nothing more than Nazi propaganda and not to watch it... Don't you twits realise that all the prior historical documentaries are Allied propaganda? I thank Dennis Wise for this alternate view on the subject. However I do warn him of the dangers of repeating the mistakes of the National Socialists... Anti Semitic, racial discrimination is not OK. There may we'll have not been a holocaust and the Allies may have been the true 'bad guys' of WW2 with the lies cover ups and unpunished war crimes that were committed. However hate will always be a causes undoing. If your true intention is to bring this hate for Jews and other racial groups back to light. Then I do not condone it! The purpose of this film should be to make everyone aware of the slavery that the Jewish invented economic system is enforcing on everyone including the Jews themselves. I have done a lot of reading and research thanks to this film and it has opened my eyes up immensely. I am however concerned for the hateful undertone that is created for the Jews. All the Jews are not responsible for the evil acts of a few. Just like all the Nazis are not responsible for the evil acts of a few. Only by true understanding can we start a proper revolution to free us from this economic slavery we find ourselves in. Repeating what the Third Reich did will only end in another failure...

Just watched the documentation and confirm in the most points/facts with the creator. He did a good work and I am sure he invested a lot of time. The documentation and many other information is still blocked or censored by German government and German law.
If you go to school in Germany and "learn" about history the WW2 is a big part, but it is shown in another way (the bad guy theory). So if you talk about this, everyone who did not research by his own has the same knowledge. I was looking for information about the (whole) truth since 10 years and started all discussions about the 3rd Reich with: I am sorry, but to understand my point of view and talk about it you have to invest hundreds of hours in German history research." Now I can say, watch the documentation and then we can talk about WW2.
In my opinion there is also some Nazi Propaganda and I can not believe the full 100% at all. But it takes you a big step nearby the truth and show both sides of the medalian of the political Leaders in WW2. No one is innocent of them and A.H. is not the pure devil he was stigmated from the allies.

Hitler. We are taught that there was never a more brutal, genocidal maniac in the history of the world. You risk ridicule by suggesting otherwise but this is exactly what Dennis Wise has done. The Greatest Story Never Told is quite amateurish in some respects. The narration is stilted, the editing could well have been done in a back bedroom and the subject matter tends to lose its way before returning again to its main theme, but that does not stop the film being absolutely compelling. There has always been aspects of WW2 that just don't seem to fit. Why would a monster like Hitler have such a massive following? Why would a monster promote family holidays and car ownership for the working classes, and why risk certain war over territory in Poland? Why would Churchill accept nothing less than total, unconditional surrender when a negotiated peace could have saved lives on all sides? What was propaganda and what is the truth? Churchill is credited with saying that history is written by the victors. Wise offers an alternative to this and allows viewers to review what they think they know about Hitler and perhaps to see things in a different way. A way that has not been entirely written by the victors.

It beautifully demonstrate the Orwellian nature of our time, how can the world be manipulated and make to believe a historical narrative created with a sole purpose: destroying the self-esteem of Western peoples, and pave the way for the rule of the financial plutocrats that we know today.
If this documentary was shown to the whole population, our world would be a better place, and the decline of our civilization could be reversed. I hope to see this day.

duking1430 March 2017I have seen thousands of movies in my life, but nothing like this. This is the most impactful movie I have ever seen. At first, I started watching on the defensive (Hitler is the devil, right?), but from the first episode this documentary is so well executed and very interesting, addicting. It made me question what we are told in Hollywood and books - made me absolutely shake all my beliefs about World War 2. When I finished watching I was completely amazed and deeply moved by the spectacle - I have never been so touched before in decades and hundreds of movies. From initial hesitation to Best Movie Ever.
The content is really powerful, amazing atmosphere, absolutely brilliant soundtrack. This documentary takes you on a roller-coaster of emotions - it turns everything upside down. It is very deeply researched, and I have confirmed this doing my own research. Dennis Wise puts thousands of hours of investigation into a 6 hour documentary, so you can know everything you need to know in a few small doses of 15-min. And believe me, you don't know one tenth of it.
I am really thankful to Dennis Wise for this epic documentary so eye-opening which changes absolutely everything. Heroes an villains are not the same anymore. It will make you understand a lot better the politics and the world we live in today. Suddenly it all makes sense after and you awake to a new reality after decades of propaganda from the other side, from the people who control the world today. fbfreak190725 March 2016I have never seen such an amazing perspective to a documentary, about the 'Greatest Story Never Told'! It included rare historical footage, which is quite stunning. The content was extremely easy to understand and very informative. The footage is presented with a background Soundtrack that is not horrific or dark like every other documentary, but very calm and suitable, so that you find yourself in the past watching the history pass in front of you. The movie was separated in several chapters, which is helpful for the viewer to understand every single detail about the content. This documentary is not manipulating me to hate someone, who I never met in my life before. This is the main reason I liked this movie. I was able to see another human being in front of me. I can only thank for the eye opening experience that completely changed my view towards history and the world I know now, that people need to learn their history themselves, and only themselves. You are free to search, so use this opportunity. We people are scared to search,or speak out the truth. It's simply 'forbidden'. It's the same thing as someone holding his hands in front of our eyes, and we are afraid to say something. Something is supposed to change in our minds...

This documentary does a great job in balancing the narrative of World War 2. The film portrays the rise of Hitler, the National Socialists and the lead-up to WW2 from the German perspective. It could thus be said to be biased in favour of the National Socialists, but not more so than the average Western mainstream documentary whitewashes the Allies' war effort.
This is certainly the best and most informative WW2 documentary I've seen, which is all the more fascinating given the low-budget production.
This documentary ought to be compulsory viewing in all public schools worldwide. If it were, the US would never get away with invading small counties in the Middle East on false pretenses.

krbroersma11 June 2014It is simply mind boggling to me that people can watch this and be so inspired by it simply because it tells a different story than the one they are used to hearing. It's almost like anomalous nature of the story, in and of itself, is enough to evidence the film's legitimacy to these people. In reality, and to people who know how to think critically, it should be a red flag. Conversely, and similarly confusing to me, is the fact that these same people seem to think that the fact that they have been told the same story from other sources (or as they call them, the "winners") on more than one occasion somehow discredits those versions, simply by virtue of the fact that they are corroborated ad nauseum. In reality, that fact should only support the legitimacy of those versions. Such, I suppose, is the fruit of the conspiracy theorist's tree.
Clearly, there is confirmation bias here; these people WANT this to be true, so they legitimize this ridiculous film by claiming that everyone has been lied to and THIS FILM is the truth. I would just say one thing: says who? It's completely unsourced, and is just a bunch of videos parsed together with some guy talking, OR typed words scrolling up the screen.
The bottom line is that this film flies in the face of (probably) the most well documented, and highly evidenced period on all of human history. The are no words to properly describe the holocaust; it is, and I feel will remain to be, the worst event in modern history. The complete depravity with which Jews were treated during this time was a contributing factor to the copious amounts of evidence supporting it.
The people responsible for this filth of a film want you to believe that the fact that this time period is highly corroborated is somehow evidence of the LACK of legitimacy of normative history. I have to ask, on what Earth are you living where this logic holds? That logic, however, is the last weapon of the conspiracy theorist; they have to come up with SOMETHING to justify their ridiculous position that flies in the face of documents, films, pictures, and numerous historians, all with completely consistent views.
The only way to do that is the way in which they do: the fact that there is so much corroboration and consistency (says they) is the exact reason why we cannot trust it!
I'm not saying that the idea of a historical conspiracy is impossible; but in this instance, where this group has not one shred of evidence other than their self-serving and unsupported statements, their position should not, and cannot, be taken seriously. We are left back at the beginning; this film is nothing more than a propaganda film that seeks to thrust upon us the ridiculous image of Hitler frolicking in the wilderness as a peaceful and loving man, who had no knowledge of the death camps (once again, despite numerous documentary evidence from infinite sources from all walks of life to the contrary).
It's funny - you can go watch this film on Youtube, where if you make a negative or critical comment of the film in the comments section, the poster will swiftly remove your comment, calling you a "jewbot." This is the type of person who idolizes this film, and such absurd intolerance of other view points is the exact climate in which Nazi Germany arose in the first place. I suppose the irony is lost on the feeble-minded makers of this film. -
stepfordescapee29 April 2017I have just binged the entire 5+ hours of this documentary. Once I started I could not stop. The information provided in this film was like a kick in the gut. I have always had my doubts about some of the "truths" about WWII and this documentary has let me know that I am not crazy for not accepting everything I was taught in school. I am what the world calls Black/African American but I enjoyed this educational documentary and I am open minded enough to accept that I have been duped by my educational system (contrary to popular belief not all "Black" people think the same). I am also prompted to do a lot more research to educate myself further on this topic. I plan to watch this documentary again and I urge everyone to watch it at least once.

The Holocaust is simply one of the most thoroughly documented acts of pure atrocity ever committed in the history of this planet. It is a fact.
Despite the claims of being well researched and factual, this is a work absent of real scholarship. As far as actual research is involved, this "film" deserves a ranking that is 10 to 20 points below "Ancient Aliens". I'm sure this film will be appreciated in Tehran, KKK meetings and gatherings on neo-Nazi scum everywhere. -
zzzardis10 October 2015I watched the whole thing and was brought to tears many times regarding how events turned out. It is not propaganda like the shills below me are saying. Everything in here is backed up with evidence along with video footage confirming the narrative. It is a very long documentary, but most certainly worth the watch. I recommend everyone who is truly interested in WW2 history to watch this, especially if you are German!
You also learn about the true events of why Germany did what they did and why the masses of German citizens and even other nations followed him in is campaign. The German army was not a bunch of blue-eyed and blonde haired Aryans like Hollywood media tells you. You will be very surprised in the diversity of their army in WW2. -
themetaldad1 September 2015Among the Allies who first liberated the German concentration camps were photographers, cameramen and film-makers from the British Army Film and Photographic Unit and British Movietone News. What they saw was something so incompressible and simply unbelievable in it's depravity that when the footage was seen by legendary film director, Alfred Hitchcock in his 'official' capacity as an adviser, his advice was to minimise the editing and to show the footage largely as seen. His fear was that when viewed by general public - and the Germans in particular - they wouldn't believe it and would accuse the Allies of trick footage, clever editing etc etc.
This was the real truth behind Adolf Hitler. Do not be persuaded by this "documentary", especially as it relies far too heavily on scenes from Christian Duguay's 2003 film "Hitler: The Rise of Evil", the title of which speaks for itself. As others before me have already stated, there's nothing really new in Dennis Wise's film; it regurgitates and shuffles old footage to suit his commentary. The use of 'mood music' throughout is unwarranted and completely out of place, as it's intention is prey upon the viewers emotions. Be wary of falling into this age-old film-makers trap.
In summary, Hitler might well have had a tough childhood filled with disappointments and broken "dreams", but that's life. Yes, he was a WWI hero in the German trenches, but he was also a megalomaniac who destroyed (literally) all those who opposed him. This allowed him to become dictator and "Führer" of all Germany, loved by the German people because he'd given them a lifestyle they could only have dreamt about a few years earlier. They simply turned a blind eye to the atrocities carried out in their name. The rest is history... -
While I agree that this film comes off as way too friendly to Hitler, I think the makers felt it necessary because of the other one-sided view we get of many world issues in mainstream media and academia. While I find the sappy love songs playing over Hitler's home videos and the exalting of his regime sappy and misguided, there are MANY people on this thread that want to throw out the baby with the bathwater. It also offers a TON of information many average people in the West have never heard or even thought about before. You can easily go research each idea or clip from this 6 hour series and determine your own assessment of any portion of it. The maker of the film is trying to show you the absurdities of a variety of bad leadership and historical warfare/colonialism/propaganda/lies that we have been submerged in for decades, without the faintest hint of explanation why. For instance, we are taught to vilify Hitler as the worst guy ever, but Churchill was fighting for the British Empire, which committed genocides all over the world, and imposed its will on others, as did France, Spain, Portugal, Holland,USA, Ottomans, Italians, Belgians, Japanese, Chinese, etc. It points out how the US had little standing to call out Germans on their policy of removing Jews, when blacks were being lynched and abused in their own nation. It also shows the terrible fate of the German civilians, and the terrible ally we chose in Bolshevik communism and Zionism, and how this all seems to take a backseat to the Hollywood and Pop Culture obsession with Nazis. Basically, a lot of bad ideologies were competing for world or national dominance, and a lot of who you sided with was determined by your place of birth. There are still people pulling the strings and financing wars and schemes, and there is a lot of good info. on this presented, as well as outright lies, with documented testimonies of people from WW2. I fail to see why people would dismiss this completely. Once you separate the goofy admiration and music from the rest, there are still a ton of facts that are never told to the American people, and almost guarded with a rabid ferocity if investigated. The maker is certainly right about that part-- whether you agree with his view or not-- "The Truth Fears No Investigation." So do your own, and continue to research history!

Firstly it uses various documentary footage that were created, for the most part, to show us the evil of the NAZI regime and uses them without credit or mention. If you opt to perform any real research on the points made in the film you notice immediately that most of the information which is presented as facts are laughably wrong or half-truths. There is simply too much wrong with this film to list here.
World War II is very well documented and easily researched through verifiable means. Stating that this is the story you have never been told is true as that is all it is, a story, a work of fiction. -

gunn-wrights26 April 2021First, so many of these reviews are 10/10, it seems almost unbelievable. No, we are NOT Neo-nazis or Nazi sympathizers. No we are are not having all our friends stuff the ballot box to write these reviews. (Well, I can't speak for everyone - but I'm not part of either of those 2 mentioned groups).
Second, I almost feel bad clicking 'No' when asked "Does this review contain spoilers?". You bet there's spoilers - not within my review, but easily found within the undeniable FACTS and PROOF put forth in this very well made documentary. This film is NOT designed to make you feel the Germans were saints, not by any means - but it does explain some things that you've always wondered about learning in your History lessons (and why it's actually illegal to discuss many parts of the war in Europe). Did you know it's illegal to be a holocaust denier in many European countries - why would that be? Other than the fact that they don't have the 1st Amendment that Americans have enjoyed over the centuries (and we are - for some stupid reason - doing our best to make that illegal, should we somehow offend someone??)
Finally, if the Allies were the 'good-guys' then why were the USA and the USSR seconds away from nuking each other, during the Cuban missile crisis, just 20 years after being our best friends in WWII? And for many decades involved in the 'Cold War'.
We've all found certain 'facts' of WWII history which just doesn't make rational sense, but they must be facts, since they're in a textbook. Right?? Have an open mind, listen, as if you were a jury - weighing the facts of the case against the hearsay - I promise you... even the best historian will walk away with at least 1 new idea to either accept, or do further research on.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND WATCHING!!! -

I feel sad at the story but more angry than anything at the guff we have been fed about this period of time, this country and this man. More than angry, disgusted. This sort of cover up of truth eventually comes out and turns people against the con artists. We should all be able to judge for ourselves. I feel a great weight has been lifted. So glad something ( maybe the increasing dishonesty of politics?) Drew me to idly wonder about this. I wonder what else is being spun and covered up? this documentary has plenty of footage, facts etc that were new to me although I have a major degree in history, including ww2. Did I just not dig deep enough? Were our approved texts biased? Did my lecturers steer us away from unapproved sources? We really can't move forward properly until we have our past truthfully viewed. All this talk of history from the bottom up should be applied here. In all, harrowing, hard but enlightening and ultimately, beneficial to know all this.

ggregd25 September 2014It seems the Hitler loving neo-Nazi guerrilla marketers are out in force to make it appear this 6 hour propaganda piece appears to be credible. Don't be fooled. If all you know is what most of us know, the gist of the history we learned in High School, you might fall for this sort of misinformation. They'll tell you you never heard this "side" of the story because of a global Jewish conspiracy to keep you in the dark. All in order to get money, of course, out of sympathy in the form of reparations to Israel and revenue from films and books about the Holocaust.
The truth is if you know more than the basics about the History of Hitler and the Third Reich you know this is absolutely filled with half-truths, misinformation and even outright lies. This is the equivalent of those political memes people post on Facebook that ignore objectivity and logic to manipulate you. This is clearly propaganda in the most literal sense. It stands to reason people who admire Hitler and, presumably, Goebbels would make use of the sort of campaign of misinformation they used to keep Germans in the dark. In fact this film unquestioningly quotes Nazi propaganda as part of it's arguments. It all screams of a severe incapacity toward critical thought.
Most infuriatingly, the main premise and motivation behind this thing is flawed on it's face. If you've studied the subject matter, you already know all the facts this film offers, distorts and misrepresents. There are no secrets in this piece of drivel. Ironically though, you will not come away with any of the mountain of facts that give lie to the filmmaker's assertions - you'll only know what he wants you to know. I hope that anyone who watches this without a firm grounding in the subject doesn't stop here and base their view of Nazi Germany on this alone.
If the movie wasn't in the interest of whitewashing such a monstrous ideology, there are things in here you can find downright laughable. We hear the stains of a sappy elevator music version of "I Will Always Love You" over images of Eva Braun in an attempt to humanize the Fuhrer. This film deserves to be riffed by real historians ala Mystery Science Theater 3000. This work is right up there with films like "Manos, the Hands of Fate" after all. Someone get on that. -

If you are even considering skipping this one, THINK AGAIN. I guarantee you this film will change the way you view not just history, but your own life. Dennis Wise gives the viewer a completely unbiased point of view when reviewing World War 2 and the events that led up to it. I would recommend watching anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour a day since the segments are decently long and give you a lot to take in and consider. This film will have you scratching your head for months before realizing the truth. Truly a 10/10 film, I would recommend to anyone.

To add insult to injury the 'creators' of this amateur propaganda piece do not even credit the source of the musical and film pieces they have hacked off and sewn together in this childish Frankensteinesque production.
As for the historical accuracy of the narrative? None of it is sourced either. These fools may have gotten away with it if they kept it on the down low for their friends to look at on youtube, but to the extent where they are now trying to palm it off as a legitimate documentary work; I think it's time to nip this in the bud. -

The reason for the outbreak of the war came from irreconcilable conflicts. In World War II, the most ambitious was Soviet Russia, not Germany. The United Kingdom lost the British Empire after the war because of its persistence in fighting. France thought that it could win against Germany, but it was destroyed in more than a month. Every country has war crimes, the indiscriminate bombing and slaughter of the German people by the Allies was never convicted as a war crime, but the defeated Germany is the only one to blame.

This movie looks like a fairly slick documentary we might see on cable, and it has just enough real facts to make it seem plausible.
This stream of Nazi apologist propaganda is nothing new.
One thing that is new is that our president of the United States assaults truth on a daily basis and tells us the media is the enemy. The conclusion: we're being lied to by the Jewish-controlled media, we've been told nothing but lies about Hitler since grade school. Why can't this be the truth? It seems to explain so much that I've been wondering about.
The other thing that is different: we consume our media from the internet. When all the witnesses to this history are dead and we have replaced books with digital media. Which truth, which alternative fact will be taught to children?
Do not laugh this stuff off as so many of us do. I can see the darkness already beginning to enshroud us. -
