'Never Again': Sharon Stone On That Famous Basic Instinct Dress
Image
Director Paul Verhoeven’s 1992 film, Basic Instinct, had arguably one of the most controversial scenes in cinema at the time. Sharon Stone’s famous interrogation scene in which she uncrosses her legs while wearing a white mini-dress has been a point of contention for the Golden Globe-winning actress since the film was released.

Per Deadline, in a new interview with The Times of London, Stone, who co-starred with Michael Douglas in Basic Instinct, talked about how before Basic Instinct, she made a significant career decision regarding the costumes she wears in the films she makes.

Stone said that she made a made-for-tv movie back in the 1980s and after filming, the studio ended up selling off her entire wardrobe at a discounted price. She said she felt embarrassed that potentially a member of the production crew would be able to buy her underwear. “I thought, ‘Never again,’” said the Casino actress.

How Did Zendaya Turn Her Talents From Disney Star To Earning $1 Million Per Episode On ‘Euphoria’?
Image
Zendaya worked very hard to take her career to utmost success (Photo Credit – Instagram)

By 2023, Zendaya wasn’t just in Euphoria—she was the heart and soul of it, pulling in a cool million per episode for season three. That’s right. A cool million. Per episode.

But Zendaya’s glow-up wasn’t built in a day. Back in 2010, she kicked things off on Shake It Up alongside Bella Thorne. That wasn’t just a gig; it was her launchpad to Disney domination. She didn’t stop there—roles in Frenemies and Zapped kept the checks rolling in. And then came K.C. Undercover, where she reportedly earned $200,000 per season. Not bad for someone who started out on Kidz Bop albums, right?

While teens stressed over high school, 16-year-old Zendaya rocked Dancing With the Stars in 2013. Second place? No biggie—she cashed $200K, including a $125K bonus.

When Zendaya Opened Up About Rejecting One-Dimensional Roles & Choosing Meaningful Projects
Image
Zendaya Rejected One-Dimensional Roles. (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Zendaya, the Emmy-winning star of Euphoria, has cemented herself as one of Hollywood’s brightest talents. But even she faced rejection for turning down roles that failed to meet her standards. In a candid 2021 GQ cover story, Zendaya shared that many scripts she received didn’t offer the depth she craved—and she wasn’t afraid to say no.

“It’s not necessarily that any of [the scripts] were bad,” she explained. “I just felt like a lot of the roles…were just like, I could have played them all as the same person.” Translation? One-dimensional female characters weren’t cutting it for her.

Zendaya rejected scripts where women served as mere props for male leads. “They’d usually serve the purpose of helping the male character get to where they need to go,” she said. No arc, no layers, no growth. That’s not Zendaya’s vibe.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Breakout Chandler Kinney Says Being Vulnerable Online Is Integral to Her Success, but There’s A ‘Learning Curve’
Image
Chandler Kinney makes “Dancing With the Stars” look like a cake walk, but the star admitted the show has not always been smooth sailing.

The 24-year-old actress topped the leaderboard the first three nights of the ballroom dancing competition with her partner Brandon Armstrong. The couple even received the highest compliment of Soul Train night, with guest judge Rosie Perez saying they “personified soul.”

Despite high scores and her effortless dancing ability, the “Zombies” franchise star told TheWrap this new project is unlike anything she’s done before. The biggest challenge for her, though, has not been the dancing component … it’s been social media.

“I historically have been more offline than a lot of, I would say, other members of Gen Z,” Kinney said, explaining that it has a lot to do with growing up in the entertainment industry. “It is just such a specific environment to be in...

Zendaya’s Multiple ‘Descendants’ Auditions Revealed
Zendaya in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
Zendaya, now a major star in blockbuster film franchises and acclaimed television, once came close to joining the popular Disney Channel franchise ‘Descendants’ years ago after auditioning multiple times, according to a former executive at the company. The ‘Descendants’ films, which debuted in 2015 and focus on the teenage children of classic Disney villains, have since spawned multiple sequels and spin-offs airing on Disney Channel and Disney+. The franchise’s latest installment, ‘Descendants: The Rise of Red’, was released last month exclusively on Disney+.

Speaking on the podcast ‘Magical Rewind’, hosted by former Disney Channel stars Will Friedle and Sabrina Bryan, Cornelia Frame, Disney Channel’s former Vice President of Casting and Talent Relations, revealed details of Zendaya’s numerous auditions for roles in ‘Descendants’. “Zendaya did audition many times for ‘Descendants’, and that was a big deal. Zendaya Auditioned “Many Times” for ‘Descendants,’ Former Disney Channel Exec Says
Image
Before starring in blockbusters, Zendaya could have almost been part of Disney Channel’s Descendants franchise at one point.

In a recent interview on the Magical Rewind podcast, Cornelia Frame, the former vp casting and talent relations at the network, revealed the Emmy winner actually auditioned multiple times for the musical fantasy television film.

“Zendaya did audition many times for Descendants, and that was a big deal,” she recalled to hosts Will Friedle (Boy Meets World) and Sabrina Bryan (The Cheetah Girls). “It was a really big deal. She auditioned over and over and really wanted it. It just ended up not going her way.”

The Descendants franchise centers on the teenage children of classic Disney villains, including Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar and Cruella de Vil. The first film premiered in 2015, with two sequels debuting in 2017 and 2019. And the spinoff Descendants: The Rise of Red dropped on Disney+ earlier this month.

"Zendaya did audition many times for Descendants, and that was a big deal," Frame revealed during an interview on the Magical Rewind podcast (via Deadline). "It was a really big deal. She auditioned over and over and really wanted it. It just ended up not going her way." While Frame didn't disclose which role Zendaya auditioned for, she likely tried out for either Mal, daughter of Maleficent, or Evie, daughter of the Evil Queen, which ultimately went to Dove Cameron and Sofia Carson, respectively. Zandaya Failed Multiple Auditions for Descendants Leaving Her Free For Spider-Man Role

Zendaya is one of the biggest stars on the planet, but it seems that even she couldnt always get the roles she wanted. Before appearing in The Greatest Showman and Tom Hollands Spider-Man trilogy, the actress wanted to be in another big Disney franchise but failed to grab a role despite multiple auditions. That franchise? Descendants.

Descendants debuted in 2015, a movie that focuses on the children of several prominent Disney villains. The hit movie spawned several more movies and spin-offs, the latest of which debuted earlier this month on Disney+. Zendaya: From Disney Channel to ‘Dune,’ A Career Timeline
Image
In fall 2009, a young girl nervously walked into an audition room to perform for Disney Channel casting agents, who were actively seeking the star for their new show ‘Dance Dance Chicago.’ The girl wasn’t fully confident in her dancing ability, but she connected with the character, Rocky Blue. After chemistry testing with another young actress, this girl was hired for her first major project, which would later be renamed ‘Shake It Up.’ A little over a decade later, she would win her first Emmy Award for ‘Euphoria.’ Now, Zendaya has become a household name after growing a reputation of excellence in the entertainment industry. At 27 years old, she’s been in multiple Disney Channel projects, animated films, a musical, three Marvel films, Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune’ franchise, and the newest Luca Guadagnino film ‘Challengers.’ She made Forbes’ 30 under 30 list at only 19 years old, and was labeled a “triple threat from the Mouse House.

Challengers Marks The Second Coming Of Zendaya
Image
In Challengers, everyone is obsessed with Zendaya. Or, at least, her character Tashi Duncan. “She’s gonna turn her whole family into millionaires,” says Josh O’Connor’s young tennis champ Patrick Zweig, to old friend and doubles partner Art Donaldson (Mike Faist). “She’ll have a fashion line, a foundation.” It’s easy to see why they’re in awe. Duncan is a world-class player, brand ambassador, and the object of both their affections. And with regards to ambition, ability, and enormous success at a young age, they could just as easily be talking about Zendaya herself – a star who, over the past few years, has been executing her own Tashi-esque world domination. So far, she’s moved from kids’ TV star to being a part of some of the biggest movies on the planet. With Challengers, though, she’s taking things to a whole other level.

Every Zendaya Role Ranked: ‘Challengers,’ ‘Dune,’ ‘Euphoria,’ and More
Image
This April sees Zendaya cross a milestone it honestly feels like she should have reached ages ago: a legitimate leading role in a theatrical film. The actor has been one of the biggest stars of Generation Z and a much hyped starlet for years now, and yet a quick glance at her Wikipedia page reveals a shockingly short resume.

The Oakland born star’s adult film career, after a childhood in the Disney Channel machine leading sitcoms like “Shake It Up” and “Kc Undercover,” really only started in 2017, with a brief supporting turn in Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” Opposite her eventual real-life boyfriend Tom Holland, she only had a scant 10 minutes or so of screentime as the sarcastic teen Mj — hardly a star is born moment, despite what the advertising for the film would have you expect.

Zendaya would reprise her role in future Spider-Man films, and her screentime increased with each installment.

Fans Cast MCU and Dune Star Zendaya as Buffy in Exciting Reimagined Slayer Art
Image
Buffy the Vampire Slayer has been on the list of franchises expected to get a reboot for some time now. As usual, fans bored with waiting for that to happen have been playing around with some AI-generated art of who they would like to see take on the role formerly portrayed by Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Kirsty Swanson before her. Although there are many stars that could step into the role of the next Slayer, it is Spider-Man and Dune star Zendaya that has emerged as a top pick for many fans. In a new collection of fan-created images, it is easy to see why she would prove a popular choice.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer originally aired from 1997 to 2003, and starred Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Summers, a young woman destined to battle evil forces thanks to her supernatural powers as the Slayer. Coming off the back of the 1992 movie of the same name,...

Zendaya is currently a household name, mostly among the younger audiences due to her roles in ‘Euphoria,’ ‘Dune,’ and MCU’s ‘Spider-Man’ film series. The best part about the young actress is how down-to-earth she appears, as she is always commended as having almost effortless and natural charm.

Zendaya wasn’t always a mega-popular star, but her career did take off even before she starred alongside Holland’s Spider-Man. Unfortunately, both Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige were totally unaware of her.
