  • This went almost un-noticed.... even my trusted #2DVDforR100 specials at Musica only listed this briefly under Afrikaans titles whereas Afrikaans is only aboy 25% of the dialogue.... This is a masterclass in film-making, I love the very very effective and touching effect of telling 2 stories side by side.... This is a low budget movie but it is pure quality and Shoki Mokgapa (of the brilliant SABC3 tv drama called "The Lab") just carries this brilliantly.... This rates along "Tsotsi" and "Yesterday" and succeeds where "Cry, The Beloved Country" absolutely failed.... soo sooo explores the issues plaguing the so-called "Rainbow Nation".. There is an underlying Christian message also that is masked seamlessly
