It is clear that this rating can not be true. I finished watching the film yet and I am thinking that this film's rating is completely fake. Horrible acting, cheap scenario. Be aware if you don't want to waste your time!

robmilez8 November 2018I never realised you could place a false rating on imdb untill i read the reviews then watched this movie, i gave it a chance and survived 60 minutes, acting is terrible, it could've been good with a better director and better actors.

There is something fishy about the rating of this movie. By the time I am writing comments, the rating is 8.2. I don't usually write comments but I couldn't stop myself writing one for this one. After reading the reviews here I am convinced they are all written by film makers and their relatives. I wasted 1.5 hours of my time to watch this bad replica of Rocky. I am sorry to tell the movie makers that your scenario is not good enough, acting in your movie is horrible and you probably have no idea about how to make a movie. No wonder only 1100 people voted!

hsb_45520 February 2019Not a very good film but it is good enough to keep you entertained to the end. Boxing action scenes could be done a bit more realistic at some points. The end was so predictable, a classic one, good defeats evil but all together could be a nice film to watch on a Friday night, specially for sport and boxing fans.

graham_watkins26 January 2020This is another movie where someone involved in making of the movie has told the cast and crew to review it on IMDB, and to get their friends to review it too. The early reviews are mostly top marks and then as reviews are added later, more and more low scores are posted. I realised something was up during the first 15 minutes when I was surprised the movie had a score of 7. 15 minutes is longer than it usually takes to spot a dud so I upper my score to two. The acting is wooden and the script is terrible with poor direction. Really bad, watch something else.

kerrypope-898951 February 2019Glass Jaw was one of the best independent movies of 2018! This coming-of-age story is very inspirational to many who have been through hard times. In the end, it exhibits the fact that if you have unconditional love, nothing or no one can stop you. I once stated on twitter that the films stars (and real-life couple) Lee Kholafai and Korrina Rico are just too talented to be in the same room together! They proved my theory to be more that true as they shattered my expectations. Two good-looking people with great personalities and excellent talent! Their onscreen chemistry reigned in excellence as they told the tale of a couple who lets love guide them through trying times. What can I say? If you believe in soulmates, I can guarantee you that these two are it onscreen and in real life. Seeing Jaime Camil in the film also provides us a bit of comic relief as well once we discover he enjoys underground boxing (which he is not very good at!) Rapper Lil Bossie does an outstanding job showing off his thespian skills as an actor in his film debut as well. Glass Jaw Great Movie and a Must Watch!

selectaa6927 January 2019A decent watch, I enjoyed it overall. Not the best fight scenes and I've seen better acting but overall worthy of a 6.5 for the genre I'd say. The story kept my interest and I found the main characters likeable.
Note: Usually I agree with imdb scores and find them useful for helping me choose what to watch however I think this movie is somehow rated far too high at 8.0 at the time of watching.
I can't understand how so many people either rate this 10 or 1. This movie is definitely neither... Somewhere just north of the middle. -

tompettypresident2 May 2019SUPER COOL MOVIE HANDS DOWN. Story was dope. Acting was on point. That house in the hills was epic. I liked the boxing and the relationships of the characters. All went together well and seemed real. Definitely keeping a closer eye on my friends after watching this though. Shows that there can be snakes in your backyard so keep your grass cut extra low.

Georgetho3 December 2018Ok, this isn't good at all. The shots were stupendously amateur and the lead actor was more stiff than my Grandmother's prize bass trophy hanging on her wall. I didn't believe a single punch or line from him. The editing was all over the place. The story line felt like an explanation of anything from my 3 year old. This film is so bad, I expeact to see it on Mystery Science Theater, soon. The only thing believeable was Boosie. Gigli was better than this. Glitter was better than this. Leonard 6 was better than this.

jeffawhite-959446 June 2019I just watched glass jaw and it was better than I expected since I never heard of it or say any commercials before. i liked how it had it all. not just a pointless action film but there was a good story with a good message. Classic rags to riches story but only with the twist of losing it all again and the obstacles to get it back again. I am no professional film critic or fighter but the acting, directing and boxing looked good to me. Everyone looked the part and was believable. I just wish it was a little bit longer. I wanted more to happen but maybe theres a sequel coming so who knows.

joeallenlett18 February 2019I thoroughly enjoyed Glass Jaw. It was very relatable and in my own opinion suitable for all ages. It teaches the story of going the distance and believing in yourself. I also like how Travis never sold his soul and stuck with what was right. The love story with Dana was a nice touch that shows how relationships can be hard but true love always finds a way. It's basically a story of the American Dream. To come from nothing and achieve everything but only this time with the twist of losing it all again and the journey to get it all back with the odds against you. I don't want to give too much away but its nice to see an action film with a good message as well. I advise anyone to watch this film that might be going through the struggle or thinking about giving up. It just may ignite a fire in you to keep on pushing.

rldasilva8 January 2021I was reading the reviews then came across the first one star review, and i thought maybe its just someone being salty for some reason (does not take much these days), but not long after reading the 5th 1 star rating that i thought let me give it a go.
My god but that is bad, i did the first 10min after the opening credits, almost quit, gave it another solid 15min,
At minute 26 I am writing my first review ever, just to also say AVOID THIS FILM AT ALL COST!!! If you have loved ones you care about, then please warn them before its too late, no one deserves this punishment. -

Can't believe anyone would gives this flick a rating other than 1. Clearly the reviewers who gave it more than a one were related to the lead actor in some way and just ramping it up. This is just a shocker! Had to watch it in it's entirety to see if could get any worse and I wasn't disappointed. Should have been classified as a comedy.
