    Working from a very fine script by Melissa Monet (though typically Sweet Sinner/Mile High have the wrong writing credit displayed on the DVD cover), James Avalon takes a serious look at the subject of swinging. I found the film most refreshing, especially since I watched it right after suffering through a terrible docu about the most famous swing club "Plato's Retreat", a worthless and misleading picture titled "American Swing".

    Instead of flippant porn with group sex as its content, Monet & Avalon focus on interpersonal relations, not mere "anonymous partners" humping. India Summer is perfectly cast as a real estate agent who sees "Open House" signs outside the fabulous "Immoral Proposal" mansion, a most favored shooting location for Adult filmmakers recently (I've seen nearly 100 videos made there already), and stops in to inquire whether she can shot it to some of her clients.

    Owner Veronica Avluv makes a pass at India, and informs her not so subtly that she and hubby Marcus London throw regular "intimate parties" to which she's welcome to attend. Yes, they are the swingers of the series title this volume, but India begs off.

    She's an old-fashioned woman, married to high school sweetheart Alec Knight (I was surprised to look up their ages and in fact India is old enough to have been at school with him in real life) and neither of them have ever cheated. But the intrigue of the unknown, and feeling of having missed out on something in life give her second thoughts, the subject matter of Monet's screenplay.

    She returns and gets to smooching with Avluv, but quickly runs away, still afraid of such intimacy. Avluv humps John Strong instead in a quality sex scene on her living room couch, and it's clear that "Open House" means there is often a few guests ready for action at the mansion.

    On the pretext of a "night out with the girls", India returns once more and this time Chanel Preston, her bush exposed as she's only wearing sexy underwear, opens the oval-paned doors and directs India to the upstairs bedroom. There she becomes a voyeuse, sitting mainly composed in a chair watching guests Steven St. Croix and buxom Adrianna Luna make love. Avalon carefully stages this scene with camera angles that keep reminding us that Summer is watching. She finally leaves, but is met at the door by Avluv clad in jewels and a gown, right before St. Croix's money shot.

    The sweaty, unidentified couple leaves, and Avluv makes love to India on the same bed. Her hubby Marcus London arrives at the door and joins in for a torrid threesome, including a nearly mandatory tasteful squirt from Avluv, one of her trademarks. These two scenes are organically knitted together and add to the realism of the film, a trademark of the Sweet Sinner label purveying couples romances.

    She gets home so late that Alec is certain she's been cheating, and he sleeps that night on the couch, so disgusted with her. India's alibi in the morning claims she got drunk and was seduced by a woman she hates, in sort of a grudge-f*ck situation, and Alec makes her pledge: no more cheating.

    But of course India's back at the mansion, this time with Mr. Pete there as the buyer. We get to see a lot of the place this time, including a wonderful top shot of the foyer with its oval-paned doors, potted plant next to them, and lovely spiral staircase. I call it the "Immoral Proposal" mansion in honor of the first film I ever saw shot there, directed by Nica Noelle for Sweet Sinner and starring Mr. Pete opposite April O'Neil & Evan Stone (derived from Demi/Woody/Redford's "Indecent Proposal").

    She returns once more, telling Knight she's off to the spa, gym and sushi with girlfriend Beth, but he makes her pledge to be home early. She finds Mr. Pete with Chanel Preston there and a strong threesome erupts, with Mr. Pete uncharacteristically all duded up in suit and tie as the wealthy single man who's going to be moving in. My regret is that selling the place might mean no more porno films shooting there (oops!, I'm confusing fantasy and reality again).

    The filmmakers end the story on a serious note, which I truly appreciated. After Pete's cum shot, a voice calls them to dinner, and he remarks it's 11pm -causing India an uh-oh! reaction. Shot fades from her close-up to Knight's close-up back home, a tear in his eye, with a sad face for final fade-out. Yes, swinging is not the cheery, life-affirming activity such stupid propaganda as that "American Swing" stinker make it out to be -there are consequences.
