  • When a friend of mine told me that a short film he had seen had gotten a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, I didn't believe him. I had never heard of a feature film that got that score, let alone a short film so needless to say I decided to give this a watch.

Just One Drink is a very effective psychological thriller with plenty of twists and turns and although many would consider it a slow burn, this works in the film's favor as details of the narrative are expertly unfolded as you watch it.

Barbara Nedeljakova does an excellent job as the lead and showcases many different emotions in a short amount of time but perhaps the most impressive thing about it is the soundtrack. An incredibly varied score with some awesome synth moments, it's very effective and contributes to the dark atmosphere of the film. The composer is one talented dude.

The acting overall is very good but the story is ultimately what sets this apart from other short films I have seen. It's very detailed and has excellent character development.

I can't really say anything else without spoiling but I urge people to watch it!
