Drishya remake of the Malayalam movie with similar name is an amazing movie. This is the story of a cable operator with his limited education tries to take care of his family and fulfill their desires to his capacity. He is a movie freak. He has gained all the experience in life by observing others and from movies.First half of the movie is slow. There are few comic scenes which will bring smile to your face.It concentrates mainly on all the characters and sets the plot for an amazing second half.Second half of the movie just flies by.It is not interrupted by unnecessary songs in between. All the actors have acted well and the movie is well directed.
  • 'Drishya' is the latest work of renowned director P.Vasu who had impressed the kannada audiences with hits like 'Aapthamithra' followed by 'Aaptharakshaka' both of these films were associated with Vishnuvardhan but the latest movie is associated with Ravichandran. This time our Crazy- Star Ravichandan has a new outlook which is a challenging task and he has given total justice to the role as "Rajendra Ponnappa".

This movie hi-lights the importance of the responsibility of a family man to protect his family under crucial circumstances. The film starts as a simple family drama type movie at start but then story intensifies gradually and the perfect execution of script is in the climax which is show stealer. The background music by Ilayaraaja is exemplary. Overall a great feast for movie lovers.
  • Imagine great talents like Music god Ilayaraja, Dream merchant and veteran Ravichandran, Established Director P.Vasu...What more can a movie buff pray for? I have not got tears since many years in front of a Kannada cinema, but this one made me burst out n Am serious that i saw the crowd clapping for the Climax ! And Achyuth has done well, And no WOrds abt Ravichandran,,hes carried the whole film on his huge n experienced shoulders ! An Ideal for the role in Kannada ! Nothing much to reveal as its a complete thriller ! So, one notable thing is: Incidentally, When Ravichandran had Directed and Produced "SHANTI KRANTI" in early 90s, which was made simultaneously in 3 languages(With Rajinikanth in Tamil and Nagarjuna in Telugu)Unfortunately, the film did not go well at the B.O. Hence, the multicrore debts haunted Ravichandran. At that time, the same P.Vasu whose "CHINNA THAMBI" was a blockbuster, gave the rights to Ravichandran, which became "RAMACHARI" in Kannada and became a landmark hit of Crazystar and was screened at Ontario Film Festival. So, now when Ravichandran was in his bad times with series of flops, the same P.Vasu delivers a HIT ! HISTORY REPEATS !

GUYS, THIS IS A MUST WATCH FOR ALL FAMILIES AND YOUTHS TOO AS TO LEARN HOW TECHNOLOGY CAN RUIN A LIFE AND HAPPINESS OF A FAMILY N HOW A FATHER FIGHTS ALL ODDS TO SAVE HIS FAMILY ! A WORTH WATCH...

Just 1 word to describe this movie. PATHETIC.

The original in Malayalam is a masterpiece and the kannada version is a mastercrap. The entire story takes place in Coorg, most of the characters being native residents of that place and everyone speaks Kannada dialect of Bangalore. It is super offending. Please don't treat your kannada audience as morons. I understand you can't make the characters speak Kodava language, at least use the kannada dialect spoken in Coorg. Watch Nammoora mandaara hoove or Devara nadalli or any other sensible movies where they have used local kannada dialects. I am sick of these crap filmmakers who take the kannada audience for granted. I am sick of actors (male & female) who can't learn kannada lines and someone else dubs for them and yet the filmmakers cast them again and again. It is pain to watch Prabhu, the lady in the IG role and the heroine of this movie whose real voices can't be heard. I wish this movie had bombed at the box office.
  • Drishyam was truly a great movie. So was Mohanlal's Manachitratazham. Vishnu remade (a bad remake)it as Apta Mitra and had a big success. It was followed by Super Star Rajini who also had phenomenal success with his version named Chandramukhi. Chandramukhi turned the fortunes of Shivaji family, who were on the brink of bankruptcy. Then it was Khiladi Akshay's turn to totally rape the movie with his Bhoolbhulayya. (by the way none of the remake heroines, including the great Vidyabalan could come close to the fantastic performance of Shobana in the original). Wish Ravichandran all the best with this one too. Mohanlal Keep Going !!! we expect more such gems from you.
