  • I've been a fan of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead since the beginning. Even though the original Walking Dead is the better of the two, Fear still holds its own and is definitely worth watching. There are people who complain and hope that it gets canceled. I'll never understand why people root for a show to get cancelled...just stop watching it. Why root for it to go if a lot of people still like it, all you have to do is change the channel. There are a few down seasons like 4 and 5 but it picks back up again in a big way with season 6. It's coming to an end after this upcoming season and even though I still enjoy the show, it's time for it to come to an end. If you're a fan of this genre then this is a must watch.
  • Warning: Spoilers
S01, S02 and S03 of FEAR were very nice considering we could get to see what the initial stage of the outbreak was like and how people managed to survive with others of different backgrounds. You will get to see many different survivors, some are kind, some are dangerous, some are selfish, some are mentally unstable and some are broken. Nick's storyline is my favourite as the show fully shows us how the pandemic slowly affects a young teen without the proper love from his parents. Seeing our characters get adapted to the outbreak was also a top notch too.

In S04 and S05, Morgan steps in and it is really about him leading his survivors to do what he wants them to do to help other people, to make amends for their past actions too. His moral code and "no one is gone until they are gone; everyone deserves a second chance" guide his fellow survivors through the journey.

In s06, one of the most powerful and formidable villains, whose name is Virgina, forcefully splits Morgan's group because Morgan is unable to protect his people. Each member is relocated to different settlements based on their skills and abilities. In later season, our characters manage to fight back against Virgina and get back to each other. This is one of the best seasons in FTWD as it slowly reveals who Virgina truly is and her dark secrets of running her settlements.

S07 is about the lives after the warhead detonated. S07a has some impressive character developments especially for Victor Strand. S07b is the war between Victor Strand and his fellow survivors. I Personally believe that S07b was a bit rush and nothing was really interesting to see there. It was just like watching s11 of TWD, which was very rush like the crew just wanted to ended the show to move onto the next project.

S08 was recently released and also it was the final season of FTWD, so I'd really want to talk about S08 which will be split into two parts, as the show does, part a and part b.

About S08 a, "The connection of family and friends" are the main topic of TWD Universe, same in S08. It can be seen in every moment from E01. For example, family is everything: Morgan & his son Duane; Morgan's new family: him, Grace and MoMo. And friendship: Morgan, Madison, June, Dwight, Sherry and Daniel. Especially the friendship between Morgan and Dwight & Sherry the couple, so strong that they risk Finch's life to help Morgan find Duane. Part A also reflects what the past seasons like S04 and S05 want to deliver: we are here to help. For example. June makes signs to warn people PADRE is dangerous in E02; Madison wants to rebuild PADRE for all existing survivors and those they don't know.

This is sth that you don't see S11 of TWD. They just fight to take Commonwealth. It seems that our characters fight to take down Pamela Milton regardless of how many people of theirs are going to die, how many families are gonna be broken. Especially in the first part of S11 where Maggie wants to go to Meridian (not related to The Commonwealth's storyline), how many friends have died, how many families have been destroyed. Although Maggie has a good intention to do what she has to do but it doesn't mean it has to cost her own people, even Negan has warned her not to do so. But she doesn't listen. This is very similar to what PADRE was doing when it was led by Shrike/Sam Krennick, who was a ruthless leader believing that sacrificing some to save the big was the right thing, even at the cost of her own people (Finch, Hannah and etc.). Maybe Maggie and Shrike were doing things for the big picture but it might be a little reckless and unreasonable. S11 completely disregards "Family and Friends", instead, it is crammed with fighting scenes and zombie scenes.

S08 an also has some great character insights especially it is the case for Morgan. However, in s11 of TWD, I didn't find anything interesting that happened to our character lives.

S08 a left me scratched my head when I was thinking about the following questions:

-Why Dwight and Sherry were blindfolded in E02, did PADRE ask to do so, why?

-Why did Sam bring Madison and Dove back to the train carriage with a light security with them although they knew Daniel's people were waiting for them?

-How did Finch get out of PADRE under the sight of its patrol teams?

    Some suggestions:

-Grace's death scene. Should have been made to catch us off guard. E.g. Making us believe that the radiology is effective (by deleting Finch's fever scene), then showing that Grace has turned after the unsuccessful treatment. It is kinda like John Dorie's scene where he is shot by Dakota but the aura made me believe that he was gonna survive but eventually he didn't. Giving us shock and unbelief.

-Grace's death scene is too much giving me goosebumps, it should have been shortened.

S08 b was also a great one in TWD Universe just like S08 a was.

In the beginning of the first episode of part b really made me comfortable, seeing Emissary Hotel thrive under the lead of Anton (Strand). It gave me a feeling that people still had faith and they lived for each other. In addition to this, I could see that Strand genuinely wanted to make amends. He tried to say goodbye to the old version of him by changing his name, having a new family and even rejecting Maddison's return. But in his deep mind, he still cared about his old friends and family and he would do anything to help them especially after Troy took over the settlement. He even let himself become part of Victor Strand again to help his friends/families fight Troy.

If we say 8a is Morgan's show, 8b is for Madison, an ironic character we saw right from the beginning. "No one is gone until they are gone" was her motto. She never stopped helping others since the beginning of the outbreak, including those people who weren't supposed to be helped. However in 8b, we can see Madison turned into someone who believed otherwise, especially after what happened between her and Troy, her and Charlie. She believed giving people a second chance was the reason that they were all dead. There was so much happening in Madison's mind and I loved it. This is people, they constantly change and have a very complex mind. Glad the show made it on screen.

In s08b, things were more complicated than they were before. For example, I thought the OG would unite to fight Troy but they actually were split and broken especially after the demise of Charlie. However, it was a hoax to lure Troy and his people into the trap so they could strike them once and for all. But it failed. Another example is the relationship btw Dwight and Sherry, I thought they would separate and no I never thought they wanted to end their lives simply because they couldn't make it right and Finch was dead. However they did get back to each other in the end after what they went through at the Sanctuary.

What I don't think was right in S08:

-The unknown fate of Sarah and Wendal.

-Soundtracks were a bit too much. TWD had done better in it, light/soft music would be better and don't put soundtracks in unless absolutely necessary. Without soundtracks, it's like, we are part of the story/we are in it too and it doesn't feel like watching a tv show, giving me more authentic feeling.

About forced feeling in s08 of FTWD and s09, s10 of TWD. S08 didn't give me any forced feeling and those scenes were really touching. Think about it, how you feel they reunited after our characters were separated for 7 years or more? And those are our main characters, we know them for a long time, of course i am very emotional when they see/leave each other. It's so different in TWD in its S09 and S10, where i barely know those new characters let alone know their stories behind (i.e. Magna's group) who keep hugging each other and sobbing while saying "we are family", it just makes me feel so weird because I don't have the same feelings for you that I have for those characters I have already known for a long time. I can't feel how they feel. In addition, those new characters have never gone through what those main characters did in the past. Problably they did but off screen so I don't really know. So how can I feel them for what they have gone through? For example, I truly feel what Daryl and Carol would feel after they reunite after The Terminus, they almost die in there and they have been separated from each other for a long time. But for Magna's group, I don't have anything for them because they are new people who I believe have never had any life and death situation before. Making me feel what they feel by adding tears and touching words is simply, a forced feeling.
  • I have been captivated by this series especially after the character development was completed. I preferred original TWD, but after Morgan's crossover this series really took off. I hung in there to the end, including the final season when IMDB ratings dropped, like a ton.

To me, that final season was somewhat disappointing, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Those characters deserved a good ending, with all the drama the main WD series provided in spades. They got that.

One complaint I did have was the continual previews (spoilers that is) during every commercial. Why would you do that? Other shows do it too much as well, but the WD shows led the way. I realllly dont like spoilers.

But I did like this show. Don't let the walkers & some blood stop you. It's really not too gory. The character development is well worth the journey.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Fear the Walking Dead is a spin-off series of The Walking Dead. The First Season is about the Clark family. Travis and his wife Madison are escaping from their hometown because of the zombie apocalypse. In the beginning of the second Season Travis dies in a tragic plane crash accident, this is such a sad moment during the Series. During Season 4 the first 'The Walking Dead' character is joining the group of survivors. Morgan Jones is joining Madison, Alicia and Nick on their journey. Later on the Series Dwight is joining the group, one of Daryl Dixon his best friends. A really Solid Series, i give it a 7/10!
  • What began as a very slow pace blossomed into a Walking Dead iteration that fans can enjoy!

It is a shame that it began slow, but it is a challenge to start a prequel (albeit with different characters and different geographical location) to an established show.

While it was indeed a slow start, it was very watchable in my opinion. You see how our characters cope with the sudden building crisis and the eventual breakdown of government and the rest of society.

We watch as a family struggles to regroup and how they are affected by the Zombie Apocalypse. Like the source show, we see the painful reality as friends and family succumb to the world of the undead.

The pace did kind of slow down again towards the end of the series, but not as slow as the beginning.

If you are a fan of The Walking Dead, if you have the patience to get through the slow first season, this iteration will be a delight.
  • After the walking dead, this will be a good continuation of the story for the fans. Its a completely distant from the story of "The walking dead", even when characters from The walking dead appears later on the series, it still continues with its own style and tell the story with its own way.

It's hard to be keep interested in the show with the pacing and other factor. But, as far as the story with each character, it is good.

The show is not that really interesting especially in season 4 and so on, but the ending, for me, is great. A great conclusion for the show. Hoping to see them in other shows, if there will be any, that continues the story in the world of walking dead.

    Warning: Spoilers
I have given this show 7 stars on the grounds that I really enjoyed the original concept to the show, the Clark family, and the idea of something to fear... when the new show runners came on board, I was concerned, it can normally be something good for a show or something bad, this was mixed at first, as we had Morgan joined fear, from TWD, great no issues there, I love the Morgan character, and I really did like the additionally new characters like Jon. But what killed it was the fact it felt like what id enjoyed from 1 to 3 just didn't matter, Madison didn't matter, the world they were building didn't matter, the idea these could be villains in the making didn't matter, that is what season 4 brought me, a network that doesn't care over fans, the whole thing should have been handled differently, and now season 5... wow I am bored, so crazy bored I've been having it on in the background while I do other things as this no longer interests me, and that sucks, it sucks that it no longer interests me as this show was building something that I really liked. And I hate to say it but I am bordering on giving up. I will enjoy 1 to 3, the 7 stars are for what I enjoyed. I will continue to watch up to the mid season, but after that... I've just lost the excitement that used to be there... thank you new show runners you done a great job to killing something I enjoyed. To people who still enjoy this I am happy, keep enjoying, and I hope the show continues to live up to your expectations.

Update: After dragging myself through to the finish line of season 5 I can safely say it didn't feel like much of a season, and overall felt a lack of story. It was still a pleasure to see the characters but felt their stories were lacking, no major risk, and the villain is a little dull, there could be so many options followed for this show to go down, to have made it more exciting but instead it feels like a weaker version Of how it started out with a coherent story.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Fear the Walking Dead started off as a pretty good show until the death of Madison (Kim Dickens) and Nick (Frank Dillane) and then it went downhill for a few seasons. Last season started to get good again and they've followed that up with an even better one this past season. This last season might be the best since the series was at its best in seasons 1-4. It's a good post apocalyptic drama about zombies and isn't afraid to take chances with its story, even though it doesn't always work out. AMC has definitely exploited the original Walking Dead and will not let it go. They've already had a few spin-offs with at least 2 or 3 more still to come. This is the best one so far but some of the upcoming ones look interesting. I am glad though that I stuck with it through the bad years because it's now paying off! I think it's probably time to end it though in another season or two max.
  • I really enjoyed this prequel from TWD. The show definitely dropped in season 4 and 5 due to the lazy writing but I thought the rest of the show was really exciting and all the actors were great, especially Lennie James. If you loved TWD you'll definitely enjoy this

Season 1 7.0/10 I really loved the start and end to this season but the 4 episodes in between could be a little boring , Especially when they were stuck at the army base. This season had a great end and was a promising first season.

    Season 2 7.3/10.

Again the middle part to this season felt a little dragged out. I really enjoyed nicks parts, he was definitely the best character this season. A negative is Chris, he's really annoying and I don't think anyone liked him. I thought the ending was great especially when travis starting to lose it it made his character so much more entertaining.

Season 3 7.9/10 Really entertaining season and it was much more consistent than the last 2 seasons. Troy's character was a great character, him and nick made the season so much more action packed.

Season 4 6.2/10 A Really great start. The first 5 episodes were great and the introduction of Morgon, John and June were great, I really love there characters and there the reasons I got through this season. I really didn't like al, she was recording on her camera all the time and it made her really unlikable , I just thought she was really annoying. The flashbacks started to get really boring and ruined this season.

Season 5 5.2/10 The first 4 episodes were decent. But then the show went completely down hill. Al recording was the worst thing about season 4 and then the writers made 2 episodes dedicated to her doing that. Another annoying thing was Morgan's whole peace thing, after a while it just got boring.

Season 6 8.3/10 An unexpected comeback! The show seemed like it was completely dead. But it's now at it's prime. The new Morgan is so much more enjoyable than the one we knew. The Virginia arc was really entertaining and exciting and all of the characters were great, except for Dakota, she is probably the most annoying character in the whole walking dead universe. I thought the ending was really good and I can't wait for season 7, I just hope it stays at the standards of this season.

Season 7 4.8/10 Wow. After season six I thought this season would at least be enjoyable. There were a few episodes that I thought were decent and some that I enjoyed. But there were also a lot of episodes that I wouldn't give more than a 2/10. Lots of boring, lazy and stupid writing. Hopefully season 8 is better but I doubt it.
  • Warning: Spoilers
This show was never as good as the original Walking Dead before it. In fact, it has always been *very* stupid. I mean, Travis and Madison literally see someone rise from the dead in the first episode but for the next few episodes act like they don't even believe zombies are real and they question what the military is telling people. Despite these kinds of dumb things, the show at least started off *kinda* decent. However, after the departure of Kim Dickens in season 4, this show has gotten dumber and dumber with each new episode. Here's just a few of the hilariously stupid things seen since then...

    1) Zombies literally flying through the air during a hurricane - with some of the worst CGI I've seen outside of Syfy original movies - landing on rooftops, crashing through windows, etc. This was so dumb it was kinda funny at least.

    2) One of the characters has a direct line of communication to God himself and can pray for anything to happen and it will. There's a moment where this character is cornered by a zombie and is likely going to die so he falls to his knees and starts to pray. God says "I got you bro" and a lightning bolt splits the sky and strikes the zombie, blowing it apart. I did not make this up. This literally happens.

    3) There's a moment where they need to kill two zombies but only have one bullet and an axe. Now, what do you think is the best possible way to try to kill two zombies with one bullet and an axe? If you said: "split the bullet with the axe to kill both zombies at the same time in a really super awesome trick shot aided by awful special effects!" Then congratulations! You'd fit right in on this stupid show!

    4) They fly a hot air balloon shaped like a beer bottle. Yup.

    5) Nuclear bombs were detonated that caused surprisingly little damage and seemingly did nothing but tint the show yellow for a handful of episodes. For a little while everyone in the show was protecting themselves by wearing gas masks and radiation suits that *somehow* they already had laying around for just this situation - nobody wears them now unless it's essential for a lame plot point involving not seeing somebody's face.

    6) We're also meant to believe they protected their cars from the nuclear fallout by simply duct taping cling wrap to the windows. Furthermore they go scrounging for food in grocery stores that, while mostly empty, still have some convenient cans of food left over after all these years in a zombie apocalypse - never does anyone mention that this food would be ruined from the radiation, but since the radiation also doesn't seem to ever make any of the people (or their horses) sick, I guess that makes the kind of sense that doesn't.

    7) They encounter a character who is apparently a former tag team wrestler of some kind. They travel with her to find her husband (who was her tag team wrestling partner). They go to the wrestling ring where they were supposed to meet after the nukes fell, only to find that he has been turned into a walker and she has to kill him. This is a genuinely touching moment and it almost feels intentionally dramatic and real. So naturally they end the episode by pulling zombies into the wrestling ring and doing various wrestling moves on them to kill them all - throwing them into the ropes and clotheslining them, suplex, pile drivers, flying drop kicks off the ropes - you name it, a zombie dies by it.

    8) Alicia gets bit by a walker and cuts her arm off but suffers with a fever afterward for who knows how long. Instead of taking some antibiotics to combat the likely infection she has, she is convinced she's slowly turning into a walker herself. But that's not even the dumb part. The dumb part is that she saved her severed arm, let all the flesh rot off of it, and strapped the skeletal remains onto her stump. She now walks around with a half skeleton arm that she uses to stab walkers because apparently her skeletal remains are strong enough to do that sort of thing without snapping.

    9) Alicia encounters a deaf musician in an isolated house. He blasts music super loud all the time just so he can feel the vibrations. We're told this doesn't attract the walkers because he has "sound-proofed" the house so he can blast his music as loud as he wants. This so-called "sound-proofing" is literally just a mattress leaned against a window.

    10) Later in the same episode, this same deaf musician fires a 6 shooter revolver 10 times without reloading. He also loudly blasts his music to fight bad guys because apparently if they can't hear him they can't shoot him or Alicia (or something dumb like that). He also plays the bagpipes so that Alicia can escape - because she has a little known superpower that renders her invisible when bagpipes are playing.

I have barely even touched on the colossally stupid things in this show.

I hate this show. I seriously absolutely hate it. It's the dumbest thing on television by a mile. And yet, I can't stop watching. This is the only show I've ever hate watched. I hope it never ends.
  • If you are watching Season 5 currently and find it boring, please don't stop watching!! Season 6 might be the best season so far! I'd love to give it a 10 but there were some boring episodes in Season 4-5, but season 6 just entered the competition!
  • I have to agree with many reviewers here in that watching a group of incredibly stupid survivors of a zombie holocaust is torture. It's one bad storyline after another and the actors know it. There's very little for them to work with and subsequently the acting is subpar. Fire every writer and every director and start over; you can't do any worse.
  • Anyone finding the story and plotlines ridiculous? The last seasons of these shows and final episodes make less sense than anything previous. As usual, all good things must end, and so they shall.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Didn't think much when I first started watching.

Seasons 1-3 are no where near on par with the walking dead, it's too fast paced which means there is very little character development. The walking dead may have been slow in parts but it was necessary to make you actually care about the characters.

It seems the makers of the show may have realised this too, as when Morgan enters the show at the beginning of season 4, nearly all the original characters from seasons 1-3 have been killed off and are replaced with people that are likeable.

The show slows down more too and focuses on the individuals stories rather than filling each episode with over excessive explosions, gun fire and ridiculous storylines.

Season 4 onwards gets back to the original formula and it pays off.
  • It's a real shame that most people rate shows on a "0 or 10" scale. Most of the complaining I hear about this show stem from people wanting it to be more like TWD. If you'd like to see something that is not TWD, but exists in the same universe--I think that's called a "spin-off"--then this show is that. Different places, different faces. Some of the characters make dumb choices, some are boring, and some are annoying. Viewers really seem to hate "realism" despite always screaming for it.

It's not perfect. I could gripe about the things I don't like, but they are minor when compared to the fact that I'm really enjoying watching how things progressed while Rick was in a coma. It offers nothing in the way of explaining the zombies (that's a good thing), but is showing really well how panic and mobs of humans actually paved the way for zombies to swoop right in and eat everyone.

If you want to enjoy this show, turn off your silly expectations about it being like TWD, and just watch while convincingly-real and flawed humans deal with a fast-moving crisis that no one seems to understand. It's easy for viewers to forget that these new characters don't have years of experience in the zombie world, so it just looks like some weird virus that makes people crazy and hard to kill. 7/10
  • Let the haters hate. I admire the captivity of the post-apocalyptic world that TWD has set. Most of us were lost after season 7 when TWD had turned into this melodramatic soap opera. Come on guys... But I am glad that Fear TWD kept me down as a fan of the walking dead saga. Nick, Strand, Alycia are such fine actors and they shun in this show. Thankfully they played their characters with such conscience and meticulousness that it shows in their performances. So convincing, so believable and yet flawed at the same time. I just love the crew that they have built up now in season 5 and beyond. I will not name any names but thanks to everyone from the cast, crew, writing, art direction and the effects. Please keep it up. You have saved TWD saga and while that show has lost its charm due to dragging out stories and unnecessary side characters that didne possess an ounce of personality. You guys have kept it different, kept it fresh and impactful. I salute you all for your hard work.
  • Honestly such a shame that S4&5 were so bad. Because S6 is FANTASTIC! Would have loved to have seen the show continue where it left off at S3 and use S6 as the Morgan intro but then again I feel as if we are being treated with S6 after suffering throughout S4&5, however in reality it's just because Scott Gimple (show runner for S4&5 of fear and S7&8 of twd) ruined those seasons just like S7&8 of the main show, as soon as he leaves both shows they become good again... Just hoping S7 is going to be just as good - if not better!
  • Ok I see a lot of hate and yea season 4 kinda was a drag but this latest season has dramatically picked up. Definitely has potential and if they keep going like this I hope for a season 7.
  • This would be an awesome show if:

#1 if this group of people weren't once again falling under the rule of some other idiot in this case a couple of teenagers. Furthermore: take the head off the snake when you have the first 10 chances and end it instead of just letting it drag on episode after episode. It's all the same antagonists doing all the same things to all the same characters. Try something new, after over 20 seasons spanning multiple TWD universes.

#2 Kill off Morgan, worst character ever. He's more annoying than Rick Grimes who spent most of his episodes talking and basically getting everyone killed. He's just a terrible character.

#3 So far this season is the epitome of one season too many. It may have been better if it didn't revolve around Morgan and his "Issues" get over it.
  • ..... just end the series already.

Season 7 is nonsense.. no real storyline... it is as if they wake up each Monday and decide what the next episode should be... as if they are writing it off-the-cuff in a high school drama department without any "seasonal" outline or history of the past seasons. Or a sense that any character came from the main show thus history of their time on The Walking Dead either.

At this point it's more of comedy of errors than anything else. It just keeps getting more and more unrealistic, convoluted, and illogical.

Season 7 Episode 14, Divine Providence, so clearly shows the entire issue with the writing and how characters are not written like *real* people. It's really become "soap opera" writing with illogical 180° turns in character motivations within the span of 20 minutes (seriously). Kill Him! No Trust him! No Kill Him! No Trust Him! No Kill Him. On top of that, there are CLEAR continuity errors in episode 14 -- watch for Alicia using her "missing hand" to grab someone's rifle, then make a fist with it immediately afterwards.

    ------------------

And it seems season 7 meant nothing.. without spoilers.. they start an ENTIRE NEW STORYLINE the last episode of season 7. Episode 16 of season 7 (the finale) has NOTHING to do with the previous 15 episodes in the season. One could literally watch the season 6 finale, then immediately jump to the season 7 finale and not have missed anything. No one of any importance dies and nothing of major consequence happens in the first 15 episodes of season 7. They are largely a waste of time and padding so everyone can get paid for them.

    "Lazy writing" is an understatement.

    -------------------

Season 8 thus far (seen 3 eps) is merely a lesson in how to write a soap opera when one ignores ALL logic.

    • Prevent children from losing parents..... by taking them away from parents... so they lose their parents
    • Travel from the west coast of the US (Padre) to King County Georgia (where Morgan met Rick in The Walking Dead) in the blink of an eye - where are they hiding the teleporters???

    • HUGE time leap.... but no one has aged except children.

    • A scar on Dwights face that, after years, now appears like it's a fresh wound and NOT a scar at all - I've never seen a SCAR that's deeply multi-colored after a decade.

Season 8 has been much worse than season 7... I'm only watching it because it's been announced as the last season.
  • Wow. It's amazing to see how the writing and scripts evolved from season 5 to 6. Morgan was explosive at the start of season 6. It's amazing season 6 is reviving the show. Now Fear has managed to maintain a good streak. The most incredible parts influence how tense they managed to make the chapters with very good performances and incredible direction, the characters are no longer annoying and now they usually make good decisions normally, Season 6 is better than Seasons 7 and 8 of The Walking Dead. If you keep this up, you can even replace the main series when it's finished.

In my opinion it deserves an 8.4/10 because they managed to get out of a bottomless abyss. In summary: Season 6 is an 8.8/10, good development, good plot twists, good direction, good effects, good performance and the plot which implements is engaging, since the characters are mostly not annoying, but it has moments that are not memorable and are often simply boring. GOOD WORK :D.
  • Warning: Spoilers
First Victor turns into the bad guy, second Morgan and her Grace adopt a baby and now everyone banished with a helicopter what secret lies with a had?
  • I think a lot of folks problem with this show was the pace, and annoying characters. Without saying too much, you can start at season 4 and really not miss much, and still get the backstory throughout the season of how they got to that point. Just trust me, Season 4 is almost like a whole new show!!
  • jtkirk16116 November 2021
Why don't they all just leave the radiation zone? What is possibly keeping them here? This show has gotten to stupid for words. Masks on until they come off in the same areas? I could go on all night but I have better things to do.
  • Warning: Spoilers
It was not that good from the start but it was fun to watch at least, till it wasn't. I think it really had a lot of potential if AMC wasn't just going after numbers. 3rd season was some of the best stuff we've ever gotten from TWD universe as for me. Thoughts of ''What could've been'' just bothers me sometimes.

There's a lot of reasons to the constant hate the show has been getting since the start:

1- It was mismarketed by AMC when the show was first getting announced as the show's whole idea was about ''the beginning of the apocalypse''. That's one.

2- It's so messy ''sometimes''. Some things happen just to happen. No backstories. No build ups. Just if something happens, it happens randomly. Lazy writing as we could name it.

3- The major problem, the new showrunners' idea of bringing Morgan into the show just to make it more like ''The Walking Dead'' so people could be more interested in it. I think Morgan is really selfish, stealing the spotlight in the blink of an eye. Why did the main characters that we saw from the beginning lose their own personalities all in a sudden?...

4- Bad acting at it's best. The main character, Madison. Oh my god. I'm not saying that her acting is bad but it's obvious that she either hates the show and she's just there for the money or she just doesn't feel like it sometimes because she isn't always that bad. The side characters too. A lot of bad acting. On the top of it really bad CGI too.

5- Frank Dillane wanting out. Or maybe they just cut him out so they could give more space to Morgan. A protagonist leaving a show never results in any good. Nick was the soul of this show. The show started with him. It was about him. Him leaving was the downfall of this show.

6- Bringing back dead characters because they can't move on with the story anymore. I don't think I need to explain this. As an example, Troy. Look I really love Troy, he's my favorite FTWD character but there's no way a person would make it out alive at the dam where he was lying UNCONSCIOUS after getting hit on the head with a hammer TWICE, then being blown up and probably drown in tons of water.

7- The slow pacing is so annoying. Having to go through 8 episodes (half a season) just for the gang to seperate and then get back together again really hurt my brain to watch. Ughh...

8- The writers don't really know what they're doing. Literally. As an example CRM's appearance on this show is... I don't know. I think they just want to tease Rick sometimes. Encourage the audience to keep going. Also some storylines are really stupid. I mean it makes you feel stupid when the screen goes black and you're staring at your reflection.

9- Some people just hate on it to hate on it. The show's name has gotten so bad that it's become a meme now. And, marking that it depends, but it can be said that it's overhated. You can also say that the reviews are a bit more honest unlike some of the other shows.

10- Flying a beer bottle shaped hot air balloon. Rest in peace Jimbo.

11- Cheesy, corny dialogues. The scenes popping in my head are hunting me while I'm writing this.

For the people that are desperate to hear something at least decent about this show, I'm gonna review the seasons using the kindest words that I can. Seasons 1, 2 and 4a are okay. 3 is awesome. 4b and 5 shuttle between okay and mid but mostly mid, sometimes even below. 6 is good. 7 is kind of bad but isn't really that bad as people say it is, I mean the cinematography is insane in this season but it has no logic whatsoever. Actually logic and plot holes are the main problems with this show. Can't go outside without a gas mask but sure can ride horses and all the animals remain just fine. Although the cinematography thing goes the same with season 8, 8a is really terrible but somehow one or two episodes are kind of entertaining. 8b is meh when Troy is on the screen but not always since they ruined his character too, other than that it's somewhere between bad and terrible. The ending to the story is kind of okay though, could've been a lot worse.

You can watch it if you have time. You can enjoy it if you're not a perfectionist. It's not always as bad as people make it seem to be. It has it's moments, trust me. But by the end of it, you'll just be left with a show you ''just watched''. It's not gonna be your favorite show or a show you can force on your friends to watch.

    Definitely one of the shows.
