I'm a sucker for period pieces. I enjoyed the novelty of an English-based drama in German. But I have a feeling there is a whole third reel missing here. Even at 3 hours, its like a CliiffsNotes drama. At the end, what happened to the bank, the revolution, to Clara, and most definitely what happened to Florence? Movies don't have to have happy endings, but they really should endings.

rafaelthird18 September 2021I read the novel first, and came for the series, and was a huge waste of time. The plot is totally different from the original novel. The very first fact of the book is not even cited in the serie (the young boy murder at the school). The characters share only the names, their final in series is entirely differ. It was a deception for me.

The love , the passion is capturing you. Maybe , the soundtaxcjs could be more effective. or background music. This is aremarkable film,do not be affected by low points.
