| Denzel is great as usual
I really enjoyed his character. He is very methodical very relaxed even in tense situation. Believable no flash just gets the job done. Denzel Washington is very entertaining.

Quotes

Robert McCall: What you do, what you become, is not my concern. The world is full of so-called "men" like you, and, in a perfect world, anything we do comes with a price, but, this ain't a perfect world. People do bad things; if you're lucky, you get a chance to ...

Goofs

During the final battle, McCall shot at the transformer on the pole, which exploded and generates a smoke screen, before he enters the bakery. He then cuts open bags of flour/sugar and turn on the fan to blow on the flour/sugar. There should not be any electricity because he just blew up the transformer.

Alternate Versions

The UK release is pre-cut to secure a 15 certificate instead of an 18, reducing scenes of "strong violence and gore". Compared to the New Zealand release (whose rating board also releases full running times in mm:ss), it's 11s shorter at 120:34 instead of 120:45. The cut version was released on DVD & Blu-ray while the uncut version was released on Ultra HD Blu-ray. The following was removed:

  • an already broken arm being further twisted
  • two knives being pulled upwards in a man's body at the end of stabbing
  • a gory shot of insides hanging out after an explosion
  • a man's spine being severed before he's thrown off a building
