  • With a few beers in their system, a myriad of obscure video tapes to pick from, and a camera in place to capture every reactive moment, The Best of the Worst series has been considered by many RedLetterMedia viewers to be Mike Stoklasa and friends' best outing yet.

The setup usually sees the crew scour through their shelves filled with videotapes to select three from the pile. After their selection, they crack open a few beers, sit back and take it all in, where they later go on to hold a roundtable panel discussion on what they've seen with their signature dry/deadpan humor flavored throughout. And between all the farcical meta-narratives they've established throughout the series and odd distractions spurred on by their inebriation, they then attempt to evaluate and vote on which they feel is "The Best of the Worst." Consequently, the one they favored the least might be subjected to some kind of creative destruction carried out by the crew.

Aside from RLM regulars like Jay Bauman and Rich Evans, they also use this segment to occasionally bring on guest stars, from fellow B-movie enthusiasts to creators working in some capacity within the industry. Every participant --whether they're a recurring guest (Jim and Collin from Canada) or a new face to the mix -- all bring something unique to the table.

The web-series has also gone on to spawn several mini-segments under the "Best of the Worst" moniker: Wheel of the Worst, Plinketto, and Battle of the Genres, just to name a few. Each of these mini-segments adds a certain "pizzazz" to the audiovisual torture they place themselves through. Seeing their reaction is the highlight of each episode, as they spawn out meme-worthy moments, routinely incorporating active member Rich Evans as the butt of some cruel joke.

If you're a fan of RedLetterMedia's warped sense of humor, then chances are you've already seen this series, however, if your only exposure to the RLM brand starts and ends with the Plinkett Reviews or Half in the Bag, then this is one drunken carnival ride you should definitely consider climbing aboard.

Out of all the things that RedLetterMedia has done, this is my favorite.

The concept is simple. Watch three (or more) terrible movies, and later discuss them. No matter how bad, they have to pick which one is the least awful of the offenders.

The first video I ever saw from RedLetterMedia was one from the BOTW series. And right away, I was impressed with the sheer amount of wit and how much fun these guys were having reviewing these ridiculous movies. And they don't have to put on an act to entertain, all they gotta do is be themselves. Rich's laugh is addictive, Mike's sardonic sarcasm is as great as always, and Jay always has something insightful to offer. Although it varies who are featured in an episode, it's always entertaining either way. Sometimes they even manage to get one of the people behind one or more of the movies they've covered to guest star, like the semi-recurring Len Kabinski.

As you come to expect from RedLetterMedia, the humor can sometimes be kinda dark and those who don't care for that sort of thing could find it meanspirited. But it's all tongue-in-cheek, and just the crew having a ball roasting these films and peoples' bad career choices.

While it's hard to pick a favorite episode, I look forward to whenever they use the wheel or Plinketto board, due to the often bizarre nature of the instruction tapes they end up watching, which are either too weird for words or the most boring thing ever.

If you like me like seeing people talk about obscure, but fascinating B to Z-grade movies, you'll love this show. It might even inspire you to start watching bad movies as a group activity yourself.

Best Of The Worst is the best of the best.

I get so excited every time a new video is announced. Absolutely hilarious and insane.

Plinketto board is my favorite, they're reviewing and watching all these movies that I thought only I've watched and probably the editor of the movie. What can one say about the series, breaking era in comedy for sure. Wish it lasts long, since there's an overabundance of bad movies out there, especially from the 80s. Godspeed
  • Equally thoughtful and hilarious, unless Josh is on, then it is a little uncomfortable and less funny. But I love BOTW
  • There is nothing I watch more than Best of The Worst. Always entertaining and makes for an endless rewatch.

The creativity, editing and overall genius writing makes for one of the best shows ever made on my favourite YouTube channel.

Everyday is a tums festival and you can never hit a Low Blow when it comes to RLM.

Whether it's Plinketto, Junka or the Wheel of The Worst, you will have the time of your life while you bathe in the dark void of Black Spine videos and enjoy those Turtle Dreams.

Mike, Rich and Jay have cracked the code when it comes to enjoying the world of shot on video, random instructional tapes or straight up b-movies that would be otherwise lost to time.

    Thank you Guys!
